Dimmur Borgir (didn't spell it right and I refuse to walk across the room and look at one of the CD cases), Cradle Of Filth, Nile, Sepultura when they had dignity, The Haunted, etc.

Most death metals too laughably cheesy for me to get into too. I always kinda giggle when the death metal kids mock nu metal and yet they're both neck and neck on the cheesy shitty lyrics scale with the nu metal kids at least being able to do a bit more than growl. but thats just me not being a huge fan of the overuse of growling

Im sorry but I think the whole death metal thing is just like the 80s hair shit. It just seems to cartoonish to me.

Except of course for a few bands that I seem to like that Im reading on here, especially Sepultera.

If you take it too seriously, yes it can come off as cartoonish. I enjoy the style of the music. It isn't the only music I enjoy a lot.

The only band in either of these genres I like is In Flames.

The growls just ain't my thing, though I must admit that In Flames is so awesome that they're making me see the light.

OOH! OOH! I don't.

I know a couple of casual aquaintances who like that shit, anything with some skinny little shit-head growling into the mic like he's some monster can just go straight to hell as far as I'm concerned. Yet there are very weird girls out there who like and and subsquently, these death metal assholes are getting laid more than I am.

I don't like death metal or horror movies, but it's okay if you do.

I'm listening to "Faceless Unknown" right now after listening to "Crown of Horns" both by Cryptopsy. Yes, I am into it.

Cryptopsy, Six Feet Under, Berzerker, Burzum, Mayhem, Skinless, Cephallic Carnage, Opeth, AGALLOCH~, Sepultura, Slayer, Dark Funeral, Immortal (though they're a bit more on the glam metal side, as well I don't think Danzig really counts but if they do throw them in), Emperor, BELFAGORE, Impaled Nazarene, Obituary, Venom, Inauoderdaum (I swear to god I'll never be able to spell their name), and I doubt they count but I'll say Voivod anyways, I think they're more punk, and even though Venom did start black metal, they do have sort of an old school punk feel to their music too.

Thanks to AoO who reminded me of some bands I may have forgotten. Even still, I may have forgotten more. :headbang:
