I'm not usually one to hype new titles, but this game is going to kick the shit out of Rogue Leader:

Co-operative campaigns (can you say two-player Death Star attack?), on-foot and ground-based missions (stormtrooper disguises in the Death Star and riding a Tauntaun to grapple the underbelly of AT-ATs), Jedi speeder bike levels...

Fanboy heaven.

... Holy shit. I'm so fucking there.

With this, Jedi Academy (PC), and X-Men: Legends... *marks out*

EDIT: I would include Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided in that list, but by the time that comes out I won't have a cable modem any longer.

I remember playing a beta of Rogue Squadron at ECTS years back, and it didn't even have a radar. Jesus, it was almost unpayable.

How far the series has come - a bunch of the tosspots at the IGN forum are arguing "oh, the graphics are crap," or "oh, the third person sections won't be as good as Jedi Knight". People are fucking idiots.

Guest What?

Spree, you are the man for liking CKY

and this game looks UBER swank! I can't wait to play this. I loved the first two Rogue Squadrons, and this one seems right up my alley.

How many assaults on the death star and defenses of Hoth do we need?

Seriously, I've seen that shit on SNES, Genesis32X, N64, and now twice on GameCube.

Looks nice, but if it's still the same ol thing or still incredibly difficult then I give up.

Pffff.........CKY is SO 2002. The new skater-related band is either Kristian Svitiaks "The Buzzcocks" or HIM.

Well, I think that's more the fault of the Star Wars films than the games themselves. I mean, you can't complain that RoboCop games only let you play as RoboCop instead of Indiana Jones, because that's what the source material is. Besides, the point isn't that they're doing it again, but that they're doing it better - this is the first time said Death Star attack has been a two-player co-op mission, for instance. And they're also branching out to incorporate scenes never covered in recent SW games, like the Speeder Bike chase, or scenes that have never been covered before, like the Princess Leia Death Star rescue. More of the same? I don't think it is.

CKY are the dog's bollocks, plain and simple.

Actually, I'm a HIM mark as well, but if I were you I wouldn't go around calling them a "skater band" - they're Goth fucks to the bone.

oh...and the people on gamecube message boards at IGN...they don't like anything. Simple as that.

If I can do a Trench Run, I might buy it. Maybe. Possibly.

Every Star Wars game should have the trench run, if it is part of the game, or a bonus of some sort...

I totally agree. It's THE markout moment for the entire original Trilogy, probably for all six movies. Even topping the big duel in Ep II. There's nothing like the Han Solo run-in.

Yeah no kidding... every version of Rogue Squadron/Leader has the trench run. Like it or not, its ingrained into the game.... personally they should go into the actual missions Rogue Squadron accomplished since the Battle of Endor... hell, I'm about to start re-reading the series for like the fifth or sixth time... side from the Zahn novels that set the table for the Eu and the Han Solo Trilogies (both of them), they're my favorite series to read. But I digress.

Heh, I think instead of the Trench Run, they really should do the flight into the Death Star II from RotJ. Talk about difficult...
