Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 i've watched TNA for awhile now, & i don't get it. to me, he never seemed very good on the mic, was at least average in the ring, yet people love him. i'm just curious why that is.
Guest Coffey Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 *points to self* Ace in the Hole... Sonny Siaki. Did you know that Ace in the Hole was a corporation?
Guest Space_Cowboy Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Some people are just happy he isn't killing the X Division any more, and since he's been in the ring less and getting more mic time he's managed to be somewhat entertaining with the whole "Ace in the Hole" thing.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 The "Ace in the Hole" gimmick is very funny, and he's a decent wrestler all in all. But he should stay the hell away from the X Division.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I like his Ace in the Hole gimmick. I was on the forefront of the Siaki hate while he was X champion... but they put him in a role that I like for him.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 As a wrestler I can't stand him, but he's funny with his oblivious arrogant delivery of everything he says.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 His gimmick is just entertaining.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 makes sense. it just comes off sometimes that they try too hard with him. but thanks, just wanted some outside opinion . he was the worst X Champion, but he'd still be better than Trinity, imo.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Oh...they definitely tried to hard. I think I labeled that my biggest complaint against Russo at one point...the amount of time and effort they were putting into making Sonny Siaki seem special. It's much better now where they don't try and make him look special...but he still goes around saying he is.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Once Russo left the picture, Glen Gilberti and Sonny Siaki stood up and made themselves something to watch. COINCIDENCE?!
Guest RedJed Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 He's actually something different than a complete and obvious imitiation of Rock, so with that said I dont mind him as much anymore. Never been a really impressive worker, but at least he's entertaining now. I think someone realized he wasn't as big of a star as they first thought he could be or something, so they laxed back on the mega-push and now he's just a solid midcarder, rightfully so.
