You know you can't ever get enough Willie news!

In a thread found here

Meltzer says it was not Jeff.

It wasn't Scotsman, he just wanted to trick some people because people were saying it was him. He's told people that at least.

I am thinking it was Meltzger all along...

He hasn't used it to try and draw attention to himself at all. He

never printed the column and has only made two brief comments

on that board about it, as far as I know. You're probably joking anyway...

Wasn't it Raven? Somebody mentioned in the WOL thread that Raven admitted it...or they may've just been joking.

Who cares about "Willie the Worker". It was propably a work by some fan or Meltzer to get people interested in his site again since there hasn't been anything that interesting in the real world to get people to look at his site again.

Meltzer never mentioned a word of it on his own site

Well, if we want to pretend Willie is both legit and not Jeff Hardy, then here's the stuff that was being sold at WM without a WM wrestler:

Goldust - Mask

Hurricane - Mask, "I Have Issues" shirt

Steiner - "Freakzilla" shirt

RVD - Hat, shirt, sweatshirt

Dudleyz - Shirt

Kane - Shirt

J.R. - BBQ Sauce

My guess is that J.R. is pissed off that he lost all his push after his undefeated streak was broken by Bischoff, so he's ranting on the internet. He can only go so long without a Ross Report of SOME kind.

I don't really know who he is either. I know the name, and that he writes for some website or another, but I don't really know much else.

If you don't know who DAVE F'N MELTZER is... can you technically call yourself a smark?

Before the internet existed, the only way to get insider wrestling news was

through newsletters. The most well known of these was, and still is, Meltzer's

Wrestling Observer Newsletter. I believe it was he and Jim Cornette who

came up with the star rating system for matches. Even with the rise of the

internet, his newsletter is still worth getting. He had details of Bill Goldberg's

signing with WWE in his newsletter before it appeared on any website. He

has nothing to do with 1wrestling.com, who ran the Willie columns, that is Dave Scherer.

From his bio at www.sportsbyline.com :

"Meltzer is considered the pioneer of pro wrestling journalism. A lifelong fan, Meltzer began writing about wrestling at the age of ten in various newsletters and fan club publications. While attending San Jose State University and reporting for the Oakland Tribune, Meltzer started the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 1982. It was the first publication that covered pro wrestling that made no excuses about the industry being entertainment as opposed to sport, including coining the term "athletic entertainment" to describe pro wrestling, a term later changed to "sports entertainment" by Vince McMahon. The Observer remains the publication of record within the pro wrestling industry, read by nearly every serious fan and student of the game around

the world."

From his site at www.wrestlingobserver.com :

"The Observer is now in its 21st year as the leading insider pro wrestling publication in the world, read weekly by many of the most influential decision makers in the business as well as many of the biggest stars both past and present. Each issue covers wrestling all over the world, in more depth than any other publication, ranging from 22,000 to 35,000 words of text."

I believe Meltzer over Scotsman. And Meltzer wouldn't make up Willie being legit because it would be incredibly stupid to lie about that and drive more people to your competitor when its not the case.

Meltzer also said over at the msg board that he thinks Dave Scherer and Willie were just trying to cover for the actual Willie b/c WWE was close to finding out who was, so they did the thing where Scherer said Willie wouldn't answer his questions and they stopped.
