Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Jack IS Canadian. So is Tim. So I don't get it, is this disease just like a really really bad cold you get then it goes away? Or does it stick with you until it kills you? I wouldn't be worried if it's like the flu because even though people still die, not many do nowadays. But if it's something serious like Ebola, where if you get, you know you're done then I'd definitely be worried.
Guest HungryJack Report post Posted April 26, 2003 (edited) SARS is for chumps, it's got flu-like symptoms, and is spread through contact. To all the people running about squawking abotu how SARS is reaching OMG EPIDEMIC proportions here in Canada OR elswhere for that matter: Just shut up. Your paranoia does no one else any good. It's a fucking flu bug, for fuck's sake. And it's nowhere NEAR the scale of the Influenza epidemics the world has previously seen. People need to stop worrying so much. EDIT: And yea MM , it probably was me. I'm from Alberta. Damned Maritimers. Edited April 26, 2003 by HungryJack
Guest mach7 Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Our "outbreak" in Toronto isn't even on par with that of what the Asian countries are experiencing. I don't know where the WHO gets off putting a travel advisory on us when there hasn't been a NEW case of SARS in 20+ days. Plus the number of diagnosed/probabal cases is DECREASING every few days to a week... idiots.

It's like a more severe form of pneumonia [and, remember, people die from "normal" pneumonia all the time]. Severity varies by patient, though. Some people get it really terrible, others not-so-bad. The people who are most likely to die from it are over 60 AND/OR those who have alternate heath problems to go along with it.
