Here,s my take on it........I think it would be better off if each brand had a secondary title, like the US Title on Raw and IC Title on Smackdown. If the titles were brought back in big ways, like a tournament they would have prestige. It would give certain feuds more important. For example guys like Hurricane, Cena, Benoit, Jericho, Lance Storm, Matt Hardy could feud for a meaningful title instead of being thrown together just to fill air time. Give me some pros and cons on the prospect of these title being brought back.

Guys like Jericho and Benoit have been IC Champion plenty of times (and US Champion probably in WCW), so they've shined in the midcard already. They should always be in the run for the WWE Title or the Heavyweight Title. But, yes, I agree that the #2 belts should be brought back to make the rising stars' "rise" more meaningful, and have the IC/US Titles as basically the #2 spot in the company. Guys like Cena, Benjamin, Hurricane, and perhaps RVD should get a good run with those belts to help them become more established, and to look like a threat when chasing after the World Belts.

In a perfect world, everyone would be vying for the Heavyweight Championship. After all, it is the richest prize in the sport, no?

In a perfect world, all those undercard feuds would be about jockeying for position to be next in line for the title. Except, of course, on those rare occasions where "This Time, It's Personal!!!"

In a perfect world, every feud would have a purpose for existing. Every feud would have a beginning, a middle, and end. And that end would be about the winning the title. Always.

Of course, this is not a perfect world. So, sure, bring back secondary titles.

I think it would be great to have a second belt yes.

I would abolish the Cruiser title and basically make the new belt a title for Cruisers without restrictions and that counterproductive weight limit.

I agree with AS. Secondary belt: yes. Weight restriction? No.

The WWE isn't a "legit" sport in the fact that weight classes really matter. However, the secondary belts shouldn't be excuses for hosses to squash Cruisers.

And I feel that all the Cruiserweight belt says is "I'm too small, so I have to settle for this"

Nope, the IC belt hasn't effectively gotten anyone over in five years anyway. All it does is dillute the importance of the World Title anymore, keep it dumped.

RVD was over as Unified Secondary Chump until he jobbed it to Jericho who lost it to Kane which was just an excuse for HHH to be champ of everything without having to get injuried by RVD again.

Midcard titles would help push newer talent upwards and give them the ability to be seen and respected by the public.

Jericho Benoit and RVD are past that field we agree on that, but there are still low and mid carders that could use a good shot n the arm like a title belt to defend every week that makes them more important and give them more interest from the public.

I'd love to see it. Since Triple Juice isn't going to job the belt to anyone but a Cliqu buddy it would be something that other guys could get.

It'd be good for Cena, Hardy, Kendrick

Kendrick and Hardy got the Cruiserweight title

Not unless the WWE pushes the cruisereweight division itself as something fresh and exciting...

*reflects on statement*

..You're right, it's counterproductive and limiting.

Even if they did, the cruiserweight title, by its very definition, is for guys to damn small too do anything else. I never understood why we want that for guys like Matt or Rey.

I'd mark for the US belt to make a come back. That belt ruled.

well put it in perspectives....

intially Weight and titles have limits

whom was the lightest guy who take the World title, HBK in the WWF. and he bulked up by at least 15 pounds from where he was orignally..

the Cruiserweight title is suppose to be for all tense and purposes the World championship for wrestlers 150-220 Pounders

Maybe there should be mid card belts for them as there should be for the Heavyweights but thats how it is.

if they throw Rey Mystero against a World champion for the title then it destroyes the Credibility of the Cruiserweights as a separate entity

No, if they established the cruiserweight division as something different than the heavyweight division and not necessarily 'worse' or 'less' than the h-div then it would do just fine. Of course, that means they would have to take off the strings and let the cruiserweights fly more and do more innovative moves and thus have better matches and therefore totally upstage the precious and crappy heavyweights - so it's never going to happen.

Just looking at MMA, in the UFC the top title is the Light-Heavyweight title and Prides best division is the Middleweight division. Kazushi Sakuraba, a junior, was the biggest Draw of the late 90's. As long as the *skill* is promoted, then *size* won't matter.

Unfortunately, in the Land of the Giants, size is the only thing that matters. And guys like HHH and UT would never allow someone smaller than them to outshine them. (Unless his initials were HBK).

Oh I know that. I am just saying it is possible (in general) for the cruiserweight division to get over - but in the WWE with Vince McMahon in charge - never gonna happen.
