Overrated in OVW

I swear the only reason he has a job is because he's married to Jazz.

Jazz has pull?

Just because he uses ghetto terminology and then throws "fuck" in there sometimes does not mean he can freestyle.

I think frankly OVW sucks, because the only real talent they've produced is Rico (good but wasted in his current role) and Brock (who had a lot of amateur experience beforehand and was likely given more attention than the others). The rest are a bunch of green nobodies who are sloppy and generally useless in the ring.

That includes Cena. Cena is average at best but I think he can be very good. But OVW seems to be just a waste of time.

As someone who has actually seen a lot of OVW, I can tell you about the guys Danny Davis and Cornette actually trained.

The best workers haven't been called up yet from OVW, so I'll get to them later.

- Batista: Really sucks, but Cornette is a master at booking monsters and he was really over in OVW. Good charisma. He's got a couple more moves than what you've seen on Raw. Admittedly nothing more than a roid monster, but his Leviathan gimmick was a lot better than what he has now.

- Rodney Mack: LOL, I don't really know why he got called up. Nothing special at all.

- Randy Orton: Really solid, he's never looked green to me. Pretty young too.

- John Cena: Awesome, as you guys have found out. I think him and Lesnar will come close to **** tonight.

Has had a boatload of ***+ matches in OVW and on WWE TV already. Carriable.

- Brock Lesnar: Best big man since Vader, and he could be better than him. Never was heel in OVW so he needed some work getting adjusted to wrestling that style. On the short list of guys who have had a great match with Taker.

- Shelton Benjamin: Incredible potential, did a 450 splash in OVW. Probably the best hops of any wrestler I've ever seen. Good wrestler already.

- Rico: Awesome but misused. Good worker.

Trained in OVW for a stopover after HWA lost their developmental deal:

- Charlie Haas: Solid but not a great worker

Never were in OVW:

- Three Minute Warning. Awful, simply awful.

Not called up full-time yet:

Damaja, Doug "The Machine" Bashem, Rob Conway, Nick Dinsmore (all really good workers with some or good charisma/mic skills). These guys are the core of OVW and they've worked matches I'd rate as **** between them a few times (a 30-minute Ironman match sticks out).

All four are better workers, IMHO, than anyone the WWE has called up so far.

Matt Morgan (the "hoss" that got hurt during Tough Enough II, he's got great charisma and shows a ton of potential, but he's still very green.)

Eric Angle (looks like his brother in the ring so far. If he got healthy it would help him tremendously)

Jackie Gayda (Cornette takes her out of the ring and makes her the next Tammy Sytch)

Linda Miles (haven't seen enough of her)

Rene Dupree (loads of potential, but too early for him to come up).

The Montreal ref who's coming in with Rene has never wrestled in OVW, so I can't judge him.

I think that borders on blasphemy

Orton blows. Did you not see him fuck up two finishes in a row, injure himself with his own move, and REPEAT THE SPOT?! He always looked sloppy even before he injured himself. He's just an injury-prone collection of blown spots and stolen Natural Born Thriller moves to me.

Cena wrestling Angle wasn't quite *** and his matches with Jericho sucked. What matches did I miss where he achieved this?

Cena-Brock ****?! BWAHAHAHHA!!

- Brock Lesnar: Best big man since Vader, and he could be better than him. Never was heel in OVW so he needed some work getting adjusted to wrestling that style. On the short list of guys who have had a great match with Taker.

Agreed mostly, but Brock was an amateur before hand so that's where his mat experience comes from. He's pretty decent in the ring, though, I'll admit.

Agreed with those guys. Team Angle is decent but not spectacular.

Many thought brock was just a goldberg-esque slug when he came in because he was booked as such, when they actually let the guy HAVE A MATCH, he can *gasp* wrestle. from the few actual matches Cena has had, I see very little wrong with him, heck, he made a throwaway mixed tag match with Kidman watchable on heel charisma alone. I can't remember which show it was , maybe insurrextion. If they really go for a top heel push he'll kick ass. I see no reason why he couldn't pull **** with brock, he was booked as an underdog face initially when he was known for his heel charisma in OVW, that's the mistake they made at first. Give him time.

"Give him time."

That's fine with me, but people are declaring him as tossing out **** matches constantly and want to see the title slapped on him right away. GIVE HIM TIME, and let him get established, more skilled, and more over first.

Not a chance in Hell. Cena/Lesnar is one of the most dissapointing combos they have. They have had two matches, both bad, one terrible. They don't mesh for some reason. It's like Jericho/Austin, but worse.

I see where you're coming from, I just think they need a genuine SHOCK right now, and Cena had good charisma, the right size and decent enough workrate to not kill the company as an experimental champion. I have no fucking idea how to book the match effectively though.

No way. You build up Lesnar like you did, you damn well better give him a six month reign

It would be weird/stupid if Cena went over whilst brock has already destroyed him with no trouble on TV. If Cena gets plenty of offense in, and is put over as a threat before jobbing, that'll do. As a pose to the likely course of action, with Cena being murdered for 8 mins before a series of run ins and a fluke win. Grrr. It's just, the notion of Vanilla Ice winning the title from the unstoppable machine is so surreal, I's like to see it. Probably a bad idea right now, but no-one expects it.
