With the power of black lines on their helmets, the Lions are surely Super Bowl bound!!! [/sarcasm]

Yes. The black outline will make up for any other shortcomings on your team.

Got bad special teams?

Add the black outline.

Quarterback being picked off twice a game?

Reduce it to once with the black outline.

Didn't interview any minority coaches?

It's okay because you added a black outline so it evens out since you added something black.

Their mascot sucks so I withhold everything good I was planning to say about their new uniforms.

The uniforms don't look all that different from their old ones to me. They're acting like a black outline calls for a press conference and fashion show.

The Lion mascot looks like that one lion from the Tom and Jerry cartoons who was always crying about having a splinter in his finger.

And, finally, why is it always the shitty teams who change their uniforms. In the past year or so the Cavaliers, Seahawks, Lions, and Bills have all changed unis after bad seasons.

Seahawks changed them because of the new stadium.

Supposedly.

WTF man.....they look completely different!!

Only one silver band on the arm....they even shrunk the numbers a little!

The black REALLY changes the overall look of the unis.

They don't look bad....but I guess i'm just old fashioned.

My Lions gear is all throwbacks now.

lol

It's hilarious how Schlesinger and Edwards look pissed off to have Roary hanging all over them like a drunk old man.

Hey, you'd look like that too if you had to be the mascot for a shitty team...

Wow, another shitty team changes uniforms in a cynical attempt to drum up fan interest and increase flagging merchandise sales.

You can't pin a bowtie on a dog turd, kids.

The jerseys are fine, but I don't like the black face mask at all. If the face mask stayed gray it would look better.

Holy shit what are the Falcons thinking? With the throwback trend it would have just been smarter to go with the old red uniforms. They look like an Arena Football team now.

at least there is some improvement to the team.

eh...I actually like the Falcons jerseys...better than the Lions where the black outline does nothing other then cluttering the jersey's up.

Well I like the black jerseys. The white jerseys don't look that good. They needed to reverse the white and black on the sleeves for the white jerseys.

Also I like the new logo more then i did before, now that I've actually seen it on a real helmet.

Hey cut the Lions some slack, they could have this for uniforms:

3 Colored Sleeves!

Um...but the Lions have four colours on their sleeves and most teams have three colours on their sleeves.

So what's your point?

Notice The Bengals admist all this "Crappy Uniform Changes from Crappy Teams" rage has remained loyal to the Same Costume since the Super Bowl Run?

I really can't think of any other designs for the Bengals...I DO think Orange oughta be the Away jerzee instead of Black...

Orange outsells Black anyways...

Its usually not solid colors though like that.

so what...would you call the three colours on jerseys of other teams if they aren't "solid colors"?

opaque...translucent...

Well so that makes it official. The Pack and Chiefs seem like they're about the only NFL teams (besides I think the Raiders also) who have never gone a uniform change.

I think crappy teams always change their uniforms because of a theory I have that teams that seem like they're on the verge of breaking out the next season changing their uniforms has helped them win or at least reach the Super Bowl.

Behold the Titans in `99, the Giants in 2000, the Patriots in 2001, and the uhhh..Bucs in 2002? (they changed the uniform 5 years before, but still hey it helped in the long run didn't it????)

With that said, Atlanta will reach or win the super bowl this year, therefore fulfilling my 100% hatred of them.

The Browns have had the same uniforms for around 40 years, which is longer than the Raidahs and Chiefs. I believe the Packers have kept the same jerseys longer than any team.

Every single team at some point have changed their uniforms to some degree, so you're wrong when you say some haven't.

Also you forgot about the Broncos changing their uniforms before winning a Super Bowl.

Well then there ya go. Browns have it. Although now I remember KC going a uniform change in the 60's, I THINK since they did look different in the 1st Super Bowl against the Lombardi Pack.

I find it funny that you just flat out say I'm wrong when you might not have looked it up. I know Green Bay hasn't changed their uniforms since the SB Era began, and I can;'t remember a time in which the Raiders have looked anything other than the way they look now. Same logo and everything.

But yes I forgot the Broncos, how could I forget. Oh that's right SB XXXII.

I didn't really need to research it. I knew it from watching the 50th Anniversery season where every team wore at least one vintage jersey during a game.

You're right the Raiders have never made major changes, but I never said every team has made drastic changes. Every team has made uniform changes to some degree. You didn't specify that you were talking about the Super Bowl era, so don't pull that card concerning Green Bay.

Despite what some people seem to think, there's not that many teams that have drastically changed. The majority of the NFL has only made minor uniform changes in the last twenty years. However, it's a growing trend and only a matter of time until "original" looking jerseys are a rarity in the NFL.
