Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I seriously have never been so disinterested in a WWE PPV. Not only do I have no impulse to buy the show (I have bought the last 3), I don't even feel like bugging my friend who gets it for free to tape it for me because I'm not even looking forward to watching it! That's a first. The card is just so dreadfully boring, and the hype has been none existent to poor. No one cares about Golberg vs. Rock like they thought we would, and they've done nothing to help change that. Cena va. Brock might be the most uninteresting, flat WWE title match EVER on PPV. No one takes Cena as a challenger seriously, and its not like they've done ANYTHING to seriously hype it as a major championship match. The 6 man tag match is probably the most interesting thing on the show, but the hype has been all HHH/Nash/HBK love affair which has been a real turn off. Sean OHaire vs. Rikishi? Are you kidding? Rey Myterio vs. Big Show is the most unproductive match they've booked in a while. Theres no backstory, theres no point and the match will suck and either way, someone's gonna look bad. We've seen Team Angle vs. Guerreros about a million times on Smackdown, and again they've done nothing to hype the feud besides some cheap remarks and done nothing in getting us interested in seeing them go at it again. What else did I forget....Trish vs. Jazz? Dudleys vs. RVD/Kane? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, seriously how boring. It all just feels like the lineup for a typical episode of Raw or Smackdown. Rock vs. Goldberg is the only match thats gotten hype but it lacks al the luster it should. Everything else has either been hyped poorly or is the same mediocre crap we see on the free shows. I know Im preaching to the choir here, but I've never felt so disinterested in a WWE PPV before. I have NO desire to see the show, not even the typical bad sounding PPV, where it's well one or 2 matches might be interesting or its been a good feud here, NOTHING. And the WWE HAS to know this is how the majority must feel...they MUST! Its like they gave up on the show, and dont expect it to draw anyway. So again I pose the quesiton, is ANYBODY excited about Backlash?
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I barely had the interest to reply. I guess the marks will buy for Rock/Goldberg. Yeah. I guess that's what they are counting on.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Not at all. On paper, this is worse than NWO 02.
Guest RepoMan Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I keep forgoting that it is this Sunday.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 NWO 02 at least featured the return to TV of Hogan, Hall and Nash which is what impulsed me to buy it, and even if you didn't it was still of interest, everyone wanted to know what the nWo looked like, what they'd do, etc. There's NOTHING here, no hype, no hook, NOTHING. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I am not interested in the slightest, but it still looks more promising than No Way Out 2003 did.
Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Does that mean I'm a bad person for ordering it???? Of course I order every PPV..........
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 25, 2003 It sucks how they've built this up. Brock vs Cena...I am really digging this feud but they've put it together too fast. Rey vs Show...why? Rock vs Goldberg...bleh, I hate how they only work feuds for a month before the match. Plus it makes Bill look like shit that he got nothing in the weeks before the ppv. 6 man tag...just another way to show that there's no way for HHHjuice to lose the belt. Who cares! Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted April 25, 2003 6 man tag...just another way to show that there's no way for HHHjuice to lose the belt. Who cares! I was waiting for the lame gimmick that if Jericho or Flair gets pinned then HHH loses the belt. Of course Nash would have pinned them so its basically lose lose
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I am more excited about seeing the buyrate for this PPV than the PPV itself.
Guest mw679 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Damn, this thing's in my hometown and I'm not even excited. I live like 10 minutes from the Centrum Centre, all i'm thinking about is all the traffic problems it's gonna cause. Bleh.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I don't think this is as bad as Unforgiven2002 which featured the rematch of RVD and Brock, and pretty much nothing else.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I don't think this is as bad as Unforgiven2002 which featured the rematch of RVD and Brock, and pretty much nothing else. That wasn't at Unforgiven

Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted April 25, 2003 you mean Vengeance 2002? because that had a pretty good main event between Rock-Kurt-Taker
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I don't think this is as bad as Unforgiven2002 which featured the rematch of RVD and Brock, and pretty much nothing else. Venegeance 2002 had Brock vs. RVD rematch. It also had a very good Rock vs. Angle vs. Undertaker match with a title change. The exciting team of Hogan and Edge were defending their tag titles against Storm and Christian plus HHH was gonna make his BIG DECISION! Unforgiven had RVD vs. HHH which at least gave us some hope that RVD might win, before having our hopes crushed, a MOTYC in Benoit vs. Angle, Edge vs. Eddie rematch, Brock vs. Undertaker in a political mess of a match and at least the lure of HLA (even though it ended up being a disaster)... Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'm so interested I'm going to Hooters to support the buyrate, by indirectly buying Hooter wings which help fund them to buy the-- No, this pay per view does look terrible on paper, and Backlash usually is one of the garbage pay per views of the year. Cena/Brock looks to be somewhat promising, but Cena was squashed by Brock earlier this year. Tonight's Cena interference was good-as was his commentary-but it's not enough to make him look credible. The only other thing I want to see is Rock kick Goldberg's ass, but that isn't happening.

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Canucks v. Wild has precedence over Backlash. I'm skipping it
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I will order it, but only the Webcast. I do not even know the card however.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 25, 2003 For some reason, I think the only match of interest on the card, to me, is Cena/Brock. As it's about the only thing with build up that's at least decent. Seriously, this card has NO potential.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted April 25, 2003 So, is Matt Hardy facing Brian Kendrick on the PPV? That could have been the sleeper match of the night...
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 25, 2003 So, is Matt Hardy facing Brian Kendrick on the PPV? That could have been the sleeper match of the night... That'll be the ME of Heat. At least I'll see that.
Guest BifEverchad Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I will order it, but only the Webcast. I do not even know the card however. Canucks v. Wild has precedence over Backlash. I'm skipping it Oh my....how you fellas lie! You're too BIG a "smark" to ever skip a wrestling PPV and/or act like you have no interest in seeing it. Look at the amount of time you spend on this board alone, talking about, complaining and scrutinizing everything about the show and its workers. I find it funny is all. HurriShane 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'm not really too excited about it but I'll probably watch it at my friend's house he has illegal cable, so at least the price is right.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Even if Game 2 wasn't on I would probably skip it. No- Benoit, Tajiri, Rhyno, Angle, Goldust, Matt Hardy and Regal. Booker T is teaming with my most hated wrestler. Rey is fighting the Big Show. I think I'll save my money and see it when I come home
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Back...lash?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I still don't know why they even have Backlash as a PPV anymore. It never gets good enough hype - why not just spend an extra month developing storylines? Oh yeah, that takes effort and intelligence...
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 i cant believe how badly they have screwed up this ppv...well i can and at JD they could do worse... anyway i have absolutely not the slightest possible interest for backlash at all... there isnt one match on the card i really want to see.... through the years there has usually been one match that I have wanted to see, even if its only one.. this card doesnt have a damn thing.. seriously the buyrate is going to be absolutely hilarious for this crap... i am guessing it will be in the .30 buyrate range..... Guest papacita Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I've been more interested in the product than usual since WM, so I guess I'm interested in this. I will say it's kinda hard to get into with the recent Kliq B.S., Cena in the ME so soon and lack of the Benoit/Rhyno rematch I was hoping for, but for some strange reason I'm actually somewhat excited about this.
