Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted April 26, 2003 I'm actually more excited for the OAOAST Living Anglelously E-Fed pay-per-view than Backlash. I'm not interested in any match but Brock/Cena and I already know how it's going to turn out.
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted April 26, 2003 You know what will happen? the PPV will bomb, and they will blame Cena, saying he has no drawing power, or Goldberg for not working the "WWE Style", or both for the hell of it. No blame will go to anybody else for not hyping the damn PPV. Honestly, I forgot it was 3 days away. I thought it was NEXT WEEK! I think Cena will be blamed. Although I would love to see Goldberg become another Steiner. I don't think Cena will be blame. He's one of their pet projects from OVW. They'll probalby blame Goldberg (former WCW World Champion) for not working "WWE Style" most likely. Before WrestleMania, the last ppv I was excited for was SummerSlam. That's just sad for me, seeing as just 2 years ago, I was pumped up for every single ppv and show. Backlash is going to BOMB big time. Will they EVER learn? Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 26, 2003 (edited) i can't believe edge got so much "he's boring and can barely wrestle, never ready for the main event" backlash last year, and john cena is getting this verbal blowjob from half the board. cena is NOT READY for the main event. period. he's had TWO good matches. one with angle, one with benoit. and in the latter match, benoit held his hand through the whole damn thing. his timing is bad and his execution is sloppy. at least edge can hit moves CRISPLY, has proven that he knows how the babyface/heel dynamic should work in a match, and can do a roll-up correctly. so why is the bitching on this board to the tune of "cena will just be brock's bitch and gain nothing" and not "holy mother of god, both these guys are green as grass & this match will SUCK"? Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Cena has a better Character and Look then Skinny Lanky California Blonde Dumbell Edge...
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 26, 2003 "holy mother of god, both these guys are green as grass & this match will SUCK"? I have NO hopes for this match. I keep having flashbacks to that September match.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Cena has a better Character and Look then Skinny Lanky California Blonde Dumbell Edge... but why does that matter at a pay-per-view, where they're going to wrestle for a long period of time?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Yeah, When they WERE green...Now Brock is a Mature Wrestler and Cena has come up with a good moveset...

Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 26, 2003 brock and cena are both still green. cena proved it on smackdown, and brock proved it at wrestlemania.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted April 26, 2003 This PPV is pathetic! I haven't decided if I'm gettin' it yet. It just looks so boring and predictable. Only match I'm intertested in is the 6 man tag and not because I think it's going to be a great match. Just to see how bad Flair, Booker and Jericho get treated and who does the job. WWE should be ashamed of themselves!
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Yeah, When they WERE green...Now Brock is a Mature Wrestler and Cena has come up with a good moveset... They had a bad match in February too. They don't mesh. Like Jericho and Austin.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Know what's odd? The UFC PPV last night featured *no* marquee stars (When Matt Hughes is the biggest star on the show, something is wrong), and the UFC does not have the ability to determine their outcomes (ton of surprises), and the Sudden Impact show is probably going to be 10x's better than Backlash with Sudo/Bang being a better match than anything else on the WWE card. Seriously, WWE has more money than the UFC, more star power, and the ability to work their matches, and a national TV deal to hype up the even yet still can't put on a better PPV than the UFC. Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 26, 2003 I haven't bought a ppv in over a year. I am not going to start again now. MAYBE I will watch it for free if someone posts the live feed like with WM. Or maybe I will just play Final Fantasy Origins. Leveling up fighting goblins for hours is probably more entertaining than Backlash. Also Rudo's sig is the greatest thing on this board. I don't know what it is from but the guy on the right looks frightneningly like Kurt Angle. The sig is both disturbing and entertaining at the same time. Every Rudo post has me in awe at his sig. RRR's SIG is better than the WWE product!
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted April 26, 2003 I'd say a lot of interest in Backlash died at 9:38pm EST on April 14th.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Name: Wanderlei Silva AKA: The Axe Murderer Record: 21 - 3 - 1 Association: Chute Boxe Height: 5'11 / 180.34 cm Weight: 199 lbs / 90 kg Style: Muay Thai Birth Date: 7/3/1976 City: Curitiba Country: Brazil ....When you consider the fact that Silva is one of the most feared fighters in the sport, the sig (and commercial which spawned it) takes on a whole new level of hilarity. Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 26, 2003 "The Axe Murderer"? What a badass nickname. I would totally watch RAW if the Axe Murderer was signed. Maybe I've just been playing too many games but it looks like there's a monk floating behind them in that one pic.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 27, 2003 Height: 5'11 / 180.34 cm Weight: 199 lbs / 90 kg Tiny guy, huh? I'm bigger than him. But I know not to say that to his face

Guest Nanks Report post Posted April 27, 2003 (edited) I would have to fork out $25 to see it at the cinema. And the words snowball and hell spring immediately to mind. I'm the first to admit I'm a huge mark when it comes to just watching the shows because we're awfully starved down here and I don't even have cable. But I just can't justify spending money to see this. I think Cena v Brock will surprise a lot of doubters Team Angle v Los Guerreros will be good if for no other reason than workrate. Big Show v Mysterio should be legislated against Rikishi v O'Haire could be good from a story point of view, I really think the O'Haire/Piper allegiance has a lot of potential to be interesting I love heel Rock, and he will carry Goldberg with nothing more than his awesome charisma and selling I can't even remember what else is on the card... What does that say? Edited April 27, 2003 by Nanks
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted April 27, 2003 The only hope for this PPV is for Trish/Jazz be the American version of Hokuto/Kandori.

Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted April 27, 2003 Well 90% of the roster could come down with a case of food poisoning resulting in a changed card of: Jericho vs. Benoit Ironman Rey vs. Eddy RVD vs. Booker Knoble vs. Hardy Trish/Jazz (throw the women a bone, plus a decent piss break)
