Rey injured??

Recommended Posts

Guest tpww7

It appears that Rey Mysterio was injured for real at the Backlash PPV yesterday. He hurt his arm when he hit the floor after being swung into the ringpost by the Big Show.

Fuck Big Show for being a shitty worker, and fuck Vince for putting Rey in the hands of a guy who will either stiff the shit out of him or just fuck something up (see feud with: Lesnar, Brock)

If it's legit...

Fuck you Vince, Ace, and JR for your fucking hard-on for Big Show. And fuck Big Show himself for doing the damage.

If true, then wouldn't it be funny if BS was unpunished, whereas if RVD, Jericho, whoever HHH hates at the moment did it, they'd be taken to task for being too "stiff"

Again I say, WWE < Russo WCW at this point.

I'm curious if you guys just like all little to regular sized guys, or if it's just a talent thing.

I mean, do you just hate the giant types automatically or what?

with me, I could really care less about the size of the wrestler as long as he has ability to make what he does both on offense and taking bumps look BELIEVEABLE.

I may be new to smarkdom, but I think that is part of what workrate is about.

Big Show was decent in WCW, even though he had a more limited moveset (not like he has an extensive one now, but I digress). He actually amazed me with some of the things he would pull, like a dropkick on Chris Benoit and a jumping chokeslam.. he actually had decent physical ability during his first title run, but after that is when became nothing but a big joke.

Its probably sadder that Misterio reluctantly agreed to do the bump out of fear of some sort of punishing for not doing it, especially seeing as they are prepping Show for Lesnar in 3 weeks...

Of course I am speculating, but I can well imagine it...

Hmmmm...making a wrestler reluctantly do a bump or such? I know this is not in the same league, but I think you know why it would be eerie to hear this again.

Speaking of Gunn, it's my theory that Test is Billy Gunn's Canadian Twin. They're fucking identical, down to the stupid haircut.

Well, Test is a lot taller than him--although only by a few inches.

He had the long hair forever, but few people other than HHH are allowed to have long hair.

The reason they made Test look like Gunn is that Gunn is the idealized tall, muscular, whitebread guy that Vince likes to push. It's "the look" which is more important to Vince than "talent," "charisma," or "ability to connect with the crowd."

I'm about 6' myself, which means..

..ah crap, I'm Jericho.

I think the minimal height you need for a serious push is 6'2". Angle and Austin are both that height, and so is Matt Hardy (which gives me hope for him to be pushed big once his character really blossoms and his ring work is smoother). 6' or below--you're midcard for life.

Nah, they started changing Test in HHH Jr. right around the time HHH got injured.... only in a (slightly) larger package... I used to call him the poor man's HHH at the time because although his moveset didn;t change, they way he did thing screamed HHH at me, just before he got injured....

I'm 6' and I would be able to handle the midcard, as long as there was something in the midcard to shoot for.

I wasn't thinking about that to be honest, but now you mention it, it strikes home.

Did they even test this spot out first?

If somebody told me, "Hey, we're gonna swing you like a baseball bat into a turnbuckle post" I'd respond back to them with "Nah, brother. Big Boot, Legdrop."

Again, sounds familiar, and again, I don't like it. They're lucky it wasn't even worse, like it was THAT other time they "didn't test"/didn't consider "reluctance"

Oh stop dancing...Just tell us that you think this sounds like Owen.

This is nothing like Owen's situation, but damn just say that's what you're saying.

OK so Mr. Subtlety I ain't. I didn't say the bump itself was like it, but how people described it like that felt a bit eerie. I shouldn't have considered it reality, I admit, as we were just guessing what happened leading to this spot being worked out.

And BTW, you're the first person who implied I can dance. Thanks!

I can see what you mean but this wasn't death defying at all...

Thank you, and I agree. It was more reacting to what the other posts said than the bump itself. I guess I was a little bitter about the whole way the TBS/Rey thing worked out, so that affected my judgment too.
