Guest PORNFAQ Report post Posted April 29, 2003 As if having legends like Bill Walton, Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Magic Johnson, Dominique Wilkins, Clyde Frazier, Oscar Robertson, etc. wasn't enough EA saw fit to put Bobbito "The Barber" Garcia on commentary and so far as I've been playing the music is friggin' unbelievable... As soon as the game starts, Pete Rock & CL Smooth's "TROY" blasts over the main menu. As I played I got to hear some tracks by Just Blaze, Erick Sermon's "React", Benzino "Rock the Party", Black Sheep "The Choice is Yours", Lords of the Underground "Chief Rocka" and some original music just for the game by Nelly and MC Lyte. This is just from playing the game for an hour or so. I'm sure there's much more to tell, so I'll be back with all the details...I gotta go back and unlock some more legends and get this: throwback jerseys for your created players. Even the rosters are super-updated as they have Ray Allen with the Sonics and GP with the Bucks now and Drew Gooden on Orlando. And yes, you can finally play as Yao Ming. If you liked the first NBA Street, you're gonna love this one.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I really don't like arcade sport games because I'm a sim man. I can't really see myself buying NBA Street Vol. 2 (I didn't even blow my nose at the first one), but I might give this one a rental.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted April 29, 2003 How does the Gamebreaker system work out now? Last I heard, you now have 2 levels of Gamebreakers.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I loved the first NBA Street, even though I bought it a year after release, what little I saw on TV has me anticipating getting it once I clear enough funds to do so... There wasn't very much they could do to make it better, but somehow they did...
Guest Cavi Report post Posted April 29, 2003 How does the Gamebreaker system work out now? Last I heard, you now have 2 levels of Gamebreakers. Once you have built up your meter to the max, you can either choose to use the GB just like the old way, or you can "pocket" it. Once it's pocketed, it cannot be used until you build the meter up again. Once that has been done, you can pull off a Level 2 GB. This is unblockable and involves all three of your players. Pretty flashy stuff. You get two points, while two are subtracted from your opponent. If it was beyond the arc, three points are taken away from them. As for the music, I like it for the most part, except for that one MC Lyte track. Never been a fan of her.
Guest Mole Report post Posted May 8, 2003 The first one was AWESOME, and I kicked so much ass in that game. My local Blockbuster doesn't have it for GameCube, so I can't play it.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 8, 2003 My local Blockbuster doesn't have it for GameCube, so I can't play it. Yes. My company sucks at getting games out to the renters. I don't know why that is, considering we make a ton of money on gaming, but oh well. ...and it's not my company per se. I just work there.
Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 8, 2003 My local Blockbuster doesn't have it for GameCube, so I can't play it. Damn, even mine has one copy of it for Gamecube. (as opposed to three rows for PS2)

You can take up to FOUR points from the opposing team with a Level 2 Gamebreaker. From beyond the arc, it's up to four. From anywhere inside it, it's only up to two. Also, it NORMALLY involves all three players in the Gamebreaker 2. However, if you are in certain spots, only one person does the Gamebreaker. He fakes a pass and the defender turns around to look at the passer. As soon as he turns back around, the person bounces the ball off the defenders face (ala Off The Heezay) and takes a shot. Oh, and if anyone is wondering, to "pocket" a Gamebreaker, just press select.

As soon as he turns back around, the person bounces the ball off the defenders face (ala Off The Heezay) and takes a shot. I gotta say that's my favorite Gamebreaker 2. When he bounces the ball down like it's a bounce pass and does the crance stance when the defender looks away is great. The the Off the Heezay and it's in the defender's eye for the 3. Definitely a good moment. I'm doing ok on it, but for some reason I'm stuck on the Be a Legend mode, medium difficulty. it says I've gotten 440 out of 500 and no matter how many pickups I play it won't go up. The only thing I've got locked is the final Rucker Park Court Challenge and it says I need 450 to unlock it. Can't figure out what to do next. And Yao is on my made up team for the NBA challenge. Dude can dunk and blocks everything put up around him, but do NOT let him dribble the ball. I stick him with my made up player (6'10" maxxed out heavy on Blocks, nickname is Poster ironically enough.) to form a wall aroudn the basket. My player and the early Jordan or Steve Francis do most of the scoring.
Guest TheProdigy Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Hey man, just go ahead and click Rucker again. I did that and it just went to the tourney. Try that and you'll most likely get to the next stage.
Guest 4Horseman Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I had the same thing happen to me last night. You probably need to max your reputation. Just play enough pick-up games and it should give you the 10 points you need. Worked for me.
