Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I got it right, I RULE!.. Ok all joking aside, what I should have asked in my previous post was, have I missed any good storylines, good matches, promos, wrestler returns, etc? Well, when were you 'gone'? I haven't seen a show in several weeks, mostly because of the reason I posted above in my first post in this thread. I plan on watching again around maybe June or so to see how things are at that time, which was why I asked the question I did.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Heres an idea dudes... May 5...leave the couch...do something. Find a nice woman, take a drive, go to a club, check out a movie. Get out and live a little, have some fun...instead of being bored by another shitty Raw. Or you can just say to yourself 'Duh, I like rasslin, so Ill watch it anyway! Whats a girl?" Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Wouldn't it make more sense if all of us boycotted the next PPV. Or even better, the first Raw exclusive PPV?
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted April 29, 2003 May 5th needs to be the day that all of the people who were saying "It will get better" say "Don't I have an old WCW tape laying around?" or "Maybe I'll dl some Ring of Honour." A day of change. On May 5th, (if you didn't already know), you NEED to discover the world beyond the WWE.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Anyone find it funny that after the May 5th Thread occured the WWE all-of-a-sudden started to ask the fans what they think and "their voices to be heard"? I just find that really.... convenient. I was never behind the May 5th idea, I said MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY times in that thread that a Boycott-only protest would be futile and that additional efforts must be made (letter writing, phone calls, etc). I wanted to know how many people would be involved in such a thing, didn't get much of a response, so it died. People on this board, evidently, like to be pissed on as long as the piss is warm. By the way, I don't think that ANYTHING we as fans do will ever change anything. - Downhome.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Well May 5th was the date that was "decided upon" apparently, it was the day that kept being mentioned over and over. I'm not complaining, I was just currious as to how many ever jumped on board for this experiment, really. Yeah, I did say that, it's the truth. We as fans will never change WWE, especially the petty internet fans. I'm not the only one who thinks the shows are getting a bit better mind you. I'm sure a few people here think so as well. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Yeah, but your reasons for why the shows are getting better suck. DH, do you find it funny that this survey has come out after the May 5th thread and deals with a lot of the things said in the May 5th thread?

DH, do you find it funny that this survey has come out after the May 5th thread and deals with a lot of the things said in the May 5th thread? No, I don't find that funny at all, thanks for asking though. My reasons that the show are getting better don't suck, it's just my opinion, and quite a few think the show is getting better also. Uhh...why would you do that shit on a Monday? I usually do that shit on the weekends. I try to get out every night... Id rather have fun and live life than be bored out of mind by a worthless program on Monday night. If Vince and his fanboys ever decide to go back to putting quality shows on again, then Ill watch. I will do whatever is fun/exciting/etc on a given night. If watching wrestling again can provide that then great. Until then, Ill be doing other things. And everybody should fill out this survey. I got one in my email. The WWE is listening at least.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Sure they do, "Raw had more Goldberg, me likie! Things get better now YAY!" Would you mind trying not to put words into my mouth, and actually talk about it maturely? It isn't that it had Goldberg on it, it's that they actually are seemingly working on getting him solidly over. They are showing that they do not want this to just be a failure like past WCW bring-ins, angles and wrestlers, and I like that they are trying to do so. You may not like the guy, but tons of people do. He was over last night, their segments with him worked last night at least, and I hope they continue to do this. Unlike some people, I hope that what they do is well done, interesting, and gets a reaction. I do not want anything to fail, I'm don't like to have something be built up, and then just crash to the ground. I understand that some of you dislike him, but I don't see how one can not admit that they are at least pushing him in the right dirrection. He IS a new guy in WCW, he does need to basicly start a new to get over, have the WWE exclusive fans get used to him, etc... There were other things that I liked last night as well, including Linda. She isn't a character that is around all of the time, and when she shows up you know SOMETHING is at least going to happen, and it did. I doubt we'll see much of her anymore for a while. She does what the president/commish should do, I love her role when it's played out correctly. Sure, Austin/Boss has been done before, but not really this way. He is just a GM now, not a wrestler. While I don't really think it should be happening, I'm at least interested in how it progresses from here. I have no need to explain myself to you, I just like watching RAW, so have fun with the boycott. You do your thing, and I'll do mine. I respect all of you for standing up for something you believe in, it's quite admirable what you are doing. If I felt as strongly against WWE as a few of you do, then I'd be doing the same thing. Invictus 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Goldberg had a prime!?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Would you mind trying not to put words into my mouth, and actually talk about it maturely? What? You said you like Goldberg, you said you think they are getting better, you said you were happy with the way they presented him on RAW. It's clear that you are entertained very easily and you don't hold the WWE to any standard at all so if you see them doing anything remotely close to being right you'll jump up and say "things are getting better people! LOOK! It isn't that it had Goldberg on it, it's that they actually are seemingly working on getting him solidly over. They are showing that they do not want this to just be a failure like past WCW bring-ins, angles and wrestlers, and I like that they are trying to do so. Yes, they realize this AFTER they botched the angle. Mmm Hmmm. It's already a failure - now they are just starting from Square-One. Goldberg still won't draw, his matches will still suck, and he is just taking time away from those who could be more productive with it. He'll bury Jericho to set up a feud with HHH and BOY OH BOY will that be fun! You may not like the guy, but tons of people do. He was over last night, their segments with him worked last night at least, and I hope they continue to do this. So are we completely forgetting about Sunday now? Unlike some people, I hope that what they do is well done, interesting, and gets a reaction. I do not want anything to fail, I'm don't like to have something be built up, and then just crash to the ground. Like they do with EVERY SINGLE ANGLE. You don't have to want them to fail, they will anyways. They're idiots. I understand that some of you dislike him, but I don't see how one can not admit that they are at least pushing him in the right dirrection. Here's the thing: There *is* no right direction with Goldberg any more. His name value, aka the reason they bought him, has proven to mean dick-all to the WWE fans. He IS a new guy in WCW, he does need to basicly start a new to get over, have the WWE exclusive fans get used to him, etc... Yep, so this WCW guy is going to be blazing over all the WWE guys... so why will the WWE fan cheer him? There were other things that I liked last night as well, including Linda. She isn't a character that is around all of the time, and when she shows up you know SOMETHING is at least going to happen, and it did. That's stupid. Why should we take the power that bischoff has seriously when he can just be vetoed by Linda or Vince? The heirarchy in the WWE is all fucked up. We have cheif morely, then Bischoff, then Austin, then Vince, Then Linda and the Board... And each are used only when it is convenient. Why didn't Linda interfere when Bischoff did HLA, or his deal with Lita? It doesn't make sense. But hey, this is me putting a little bit of thought into the thoughtless WWE storylines - I guess I am not looking at them "like a mark", cause lord knows Marks don't think. Oh no. Isn't that right Vince? I doubt we'll see much of her anymore for a while. She does what the president/commish should do, I love her role when it's played out correctly. Sure, Austin/Boss has been done before, but not really this way. Oh no, NEVER seen the battle-for-power before in the WWE. NOPE. Not last year between Vince and Flair. Not last year between Flair and Austin. No-sir-ree. He is just a GM now, not a wrestler. While I don't really think it should be happening, I'm at least interested in how it progresses from here. You're interested? I can see exactly how it will go. *Bischoff Makes decision and is all smug with it* *Austin overrules it and changes it* *Bischoff is angry and tries to change it again* *Austin stuns Morely* *Bischoff is angry and talks to Austin* *Austin frustrates Bischoff by saying "what" a lot* *The Angle dies in a month* I have no need to explain myself to you, I just like watching RAW, so have fun with the boycott. You do your thing, and I'll do mine. No, but it helps. I mean, this is a discussion board, if you say something you should expect to back it up with solid reasoning. You can't hide behind "it's my opinion" all the time and get bitchy when someone questions what you say. I respect all of you for standing up for something you believe in, it's quite admirable what you are doing. If I felt as strongly against WWE as a few of you do, then I'd be doing the same thing.
