Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted April 30, 2003 I love that each and every guy I picked way back before the playoffs started is a nominee. Only guy I'd change is Turco to Brodeur. Other than that...Forsberg for the Hart, MacInnis for the Norris, Zetterberg for the Calder, Martin for the Adams, Lehtinen for the Selke and Modano for the Lady Byng. Turco's not as much a no-brainer as you'd think...he was injured for a good part of the season, and he had a much better team in front of him.

Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted April 30, 2003 Am I the only one who thinks Madden should win the Selke? Yes, in that you're probably the only one who's given the Selke any serious thought.
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted April 30, 2003 Hart - Forsberg Vezina - Brodeur Norris - Lidstrom Adams - Lemaire Calder - Zetterberg (show how crappy a year it was for rookies) Selke - Madden (would have been Lehtinen until I saw what Madden did to Thornton in the postseason) Lady Byng - Lidstrom

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 1, 2003 Calder - Zetterberg (show how crappy a year it was for rookies) What's that suppose to mean? He put up great numbers and when you factor in that he played on a team that spread their scoring out amongst everyone it's even more impressive. I'm really looking forward to what he's going to do in the coming years.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted May 1, 2003 Hart (Most Valuable Player to his team) Markus Naslund, Vancouver Peter Forsberg, Colorado Martin Brodeur, New Jersey (I can't believe he is up for this, he is the most overrated player ever, he is a great goalie but he faces about 15 shots a game and usually only needs to make 1-2 actual saves, with that style they play he is never in trouble) Vezina (Top Goaltender) Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Ed Belfour, Toronto Marty Turco, Dallas Norris (Best Defenseman) Al MacInnis, St Louis Niklas Lidstrom, Detroit Derian Hatcher, Dallas Adams (Coach of the Year) Jacques Lemaire, Minnesota Jacques Martin, Ottawa John Totorella, Tampa Bay Calder (Rookie of the Year) Henrik Zetterberg, Detroit Barret Jackman, St Louis Rick Nash, Columbus Selke (Best Defensive Forward) Jere Lehtenin, Dallas Wes Walz, Minnesota John Madden, New Jersey Byng (Most Gentlemanly Player) Niklas Lidstrom, Detroit Alex Mogilny, Toronto Mike Modano, Dallas
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted May 1, 2003 Why is everyone giving the Norris to Lidstrom? MacInnis practically carried the Blues defense with Pronger out almost all year.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted May 1, 2003 Mostly because Lidstrom doubled MacInnis' +/-. But Al would be just as deserving. Pronger being out is why I voted Jackman the Calder. Zetterberg had a terrific 2nd half but Jackman stepped in and filled a huge void all year. The Madden/Lehtinen hinged on the same thing .Lehtinen was a +39 and Madden was a +15 or 11. Modano had 30 pm compared to Mogilny's 12 both averaging a little over 20 minutes a game.

Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted May 1, 2003 Why not? Tampa's been bottom feeder for most of their existance, they improved by 24 points this year and won their division for the first time. A good a case to make for him as anybody.

I'm really looking forward to what he's going to do in the coming years. I feel that it's a relatively crappy year in comparison to the last 10 years or so: winners included Forsberg, Belfour, Alfredsson, Bure, Brodeur, Selanne, Samsonov, Drury. Last year you had TWO bona fide stars in Heatley and Kovalchuk. I just think that Zetterberg will be a good player, but be more comparable with the Nabokov, Gomez, Berard type winners. Good but not great.
