PROMO:

The TFDB is Coming!

The TFDB is Here!

The scene opens on the image of a skinny man with gray hair, wearing glasses and dressed like a scientist with a white coat. He holds a clipboard in his hands and blinking, winking computer boards flash and chirp behind him. His face is a mask of deathly felt seriousness.

“Gentlemen,” he begins gravely “a monumental disaster is on its way. It is too unnatural to be of nature, only man could create such a heinous catastrophe causing agent.”

Cut to old black white footage of a mushroom cloud erupting out of the ocean, signifying an atomic bomb test.

Cut to a freight train rushing along the tracks at break neck speed, black smoke billowing out of its stack.

A hushed voice whispers, “is…coming…”

Cut to footage of fire licking along an otherwise serene river, trees along the bank catch fire and go up like flash paper.

The scientist narrates, “Rivers will burn…”

Cut to a vacant plane, covered with gleaming ice as far as the eye can see. The sun shines coldly in the blue sky.

“Deserts will freeze…”

Cut to a round stadium sitting by a river’s edge. Several pops are heard and flashes of light emanate from the inside. A section of the stadium falls inward and the destruction flies through the structure like dominoes falling. Dust rolls from the rubble and eclipses the scene.

“Mighty buildings will crumble…”

Cut back to the locomotive speeding along. The cars speed by in a blur, one is unable to read the words written on the side of the train. The trestle beneath the train strains and squeals trying to keep it on the tracks.

“is…coming…”

Cut to black and white close ups of various women screaming their heads off, like a scene from a horror movie. “YEAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

“Grown men will cry for their mothers. Women will shriek. Babies will die…”

The train roars on through the countryside. Deer eating grass turn their head at the sound of the charging engine, squirrels pause in their tracks.

“is…coming…”

Cut to footage from the end of “Raiders of the Lost of Ark” where the power of the ark zip through the masses in the form of lightening and melts the Nazi’s faces like ice cream.

“It will be like the wrath of God on earth…”

Cut to footage from the end of Star Wars of two X-Wings flying away from the Death Star as the floating orb explodes into millions of shards and shoot debris to all ends of the galaxy.

“It will even be felt in the very depths of space. It will make the evil find religion and cause the good to thank God they already have…”

Cut to a life size mannequin standing in the middle of a set of train tracks. It is dressed in the blue singlet and Doc Marten boots of Tom Flesher. A pair of sunglasses is perched on the dummy’s forehead and his lips display a strange, evil smile from ear to ear.

Cut back to the scientist standing in the laboratory. He lowers his clipboard to his side.

“And gentlemen,” he removes his glasses and stares straight into the camera as it zooms in closer on his face “it…is party.”

Cut back to the mannequin on the tracks with the speeding locomotive from before. It blares its horn loud and long as it plows into the statue blocking its never stopping trek. Upon contact, the effigy detonates with an ear splitting “KA-BOOM!” The whir of a million roman candles blare as sparks like fireworks shoot out from where the dummy once was. The train thunders in the wake of a fireball that shoots forward to engulf the entire screen. With a ‘whoosh,’ the head of the mannequin sails into frame. The sunglasses are gone as is the upper right side of the cranium, but the wide grin remains.

The scene snaps to an all black background. Bright, white letters reading “TFDB” ooze from the void. The whisper from before coos, “is…coming…” Below the initials, the words “Battleground: Sunday, May 4th” fade into focus. The lettering on the screen begins to fade and the voice murmurs “is…here…”

Heh...

I think the debut of the TFDB sounds like it will be pretty swank.

You're afraid?

Jesus christ. You've got no reason to be afraid. You're his freaking teammate.

Hmmmmm...I bet it's some sort of a neck breaker variant. :P

Seriously great promo, I liked the use of the Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark clips. For some reason I busted into hysterical laughter when reading that part.

Oh, and Frost you really need to bring back the Hell Freezes Over. That was your best fucking move/strike, I'd put it over as a finisher if you brought it back.

I wanted people to laugh at the movie footage, the idea was kind of to make it the most overblown type movie trailor I could, so thanks Danny.

I've had a couple other people request the return of the Hell Freezes Over too, so conisder it back.

It went away? Damn, I didn't even notice that and I still use it in your matches and whatnot.

And yes, quality-wise, excellent promo. You so should have included the clip of Evil Dead 2 where the camera zooms forward through a forrest and then ends up on the face of Ash, screaming his head off, though.

I think it would be better to use the shot from Evil Dead II, where Ash saws off his hand, and you get a close up of him screaming with blood splattering on his face.

But the stuff with the nazis get blown up in the Raiders of the Lost Arc is still the funniest damn thing I've read in a while.
