Well it was my actual hometown but it was the next town over and I lived there for a few years, but Livermore, CA is Randy Johnson's hometown. My actual hometown, Pleasanton, former Denver Broncos defensive tackle Greg Kragen is from there.

Aren't Matean Cleaves, and Morris Peterson from Flint? I remember when Michigan St. won the National Championship they talked about the Flint-stones.

It's cool being a small community and all. Back when he was just starting out townfolk would flock to his parents house when he was home for autographs. I also have my pic with him at the local fair from about 12 or so years ago when he was just breaking in. As well, when he's home at his parents during the summer you can sometimes catch him running late at night. What with his triathalons and stuff.

A fellow 1998 graduate of Washington Township High School, Billy McCarthy, is currently playing for the Atlanta Braves farm system.

Another guy from our school played in the A's farm system in the late 1990's but I forget his name. I think it was Mike Kordner or something like that.

Tom Brunansky, who used to play outfield for the Twins and Red Sox, lived in my hometown.

High School - Bishop Amat is a pretty good HS football school in Southern California so there's plenty.

Pat Haden (former USC and L.A. Ram QB, now announcer)

Eric Bieniemy (former Colorado RB, played for Cincy and SD in NFL, now UCLA RB coach)

Daylon McCutcheon - was a senior when I was a freshman, was a RB/CB but switched to corner exclusively at USC, plays for Cleveland

Ralph Brown - former Nebraska CB, played for NY Giants

Kory Minor - linebacker, played for ND, played in NFL with Carolina

Ramogi Huma - linebacker, played for UCLA, involved in attempts to obtain stipends for student-athletes

Joey Getherall - had classes with him, ND wide reciever

Michael Wagner - actually tutored him once, currently Iowa State running back

Chris Rix - was there, my brother knew him, he played as a freshman but was forced to leave because of cheating, transferred to Santa Margurita HS.

For those in the Pittsburgh area, I lived in Hampton and Ross for about 15 years of my life. I can think of two names right off the bat:

LaVar Arrington ('Skins) and Mark Kelso (Bills) -- his sister was my college lab teacher, and she was a real cutie...

Stacey Dales-Schuman, who plays for the Mystics in the WNBA and was the highest ever Canadian drafted in either the NBA or WNBA is from my hometown.

Also, Alyn McCauley, who used to play for the Leafs and is on the Sharks now was born here, but grew up about a half hour down the road and Todd Gill, who plays for the Blackhawks now (I think) lives in town here and sometimes you'll see him downtown.
