Georgians Plan Whites-Only Prom Party

Forbid the fact we all remember we're humans and color of skin doesn't make us inferior or superior.

Do the white students feel the black students are inferior, or do they just feel more comfortable around other white kids?

Well why would it make them uncomfortable? I was more or less getting into a rant but stopped myself, either way it's bullshit for this to happen in 2003. I mean no offense to Southerners or anything.

It doesn't matter what year of history it is or how far we've come along. Racism and other forms of bigotry will *ALWAYS* exist as long as there's different countries, cultures and races.

 

That said... it's very tempting to put redneck southerners into their own race of goddamn inbreds, as to not share their guilt in the face of other races.

This is America people and if a group of people want to hold a private party and exclude a group of people then they can do it. Who cares, the blacks should just have their prom and let the whites have theirs. There's no reason for this to be such an issue.

 

And this is an old story by the way.

The problem with this is that with parents and school official pretending its ok, these kids get a jaded view that the world is actually cool with dumb shit like this. In the world of intelligent adults, this is not acceptable behavior. High school is suppose to be preparing these students for the real world. Sadly they will leave highschool being ignorant little jackasses.

 

If they had said something along the lines of we are going to have 2 proms with 2 different DJ's one that will be playing Country music and the other playing good music(heh!!) but you are welcome to go to which one you would like then that would be cool. (on the news here in Georgia, they had parents and students saying that the black and white students don't like the same musics so why should they have to go to the same prom). But instead they are saying No Blacks allowed at this prom and everyone can come to the other.

 

Why no all Black prom...well maybe the black students(and I have to believe alot of the white students) don't want to be ignorant jackasses...although they do have the right to be one.

 

But what do you expect from a state the the govener elect gets up on a potium shouting "Free at last, Free at last, thank god almighty we're free at last" while his supporters wave confederate flags behind him and his campain poster that says lets bring the south back to how it should be with a confederate flag on it...and that is not at all suppose to be taken racist.

 

Oh Georgia. Any chance Atlanta can become its own state so you can stop holding back its progress.

I was watching Bill Oreily and hes been covering this story. Hes been criticizing the state of Geiorga for condoning this activity, and he had Neil Boortz on who was defending the white prom, saying its a private party and was even taking cheap shots at Bill, which caused Bill to cause him a "lousy son of a bitch" which got bleeped. I'll post it if he posts a video or a transcript. Boortz seems like an asshole...

I agreed with Boortz on most points, but I didn't like it. People are free to do what they want, but we are free to call them stupid rednecks as well.

 

BTW: I can't help but wonder if the governor would attend the "normal" prom if people would claim he's just doing it for political reasons. If I was involved in this issue, I'd be trying to get local celebs invited to this event just to show that Ga. isn't dominated by racist trash...

My main problem with it is that the all white prom was planned partly on school grounds...there has GOT to be something against that. Hell call it a party. But don't call it the prom and then only allow whites there(or blacks if it were the other way around).

Everybody is getting a prom. They are all going to have fun. Now like I said before, this is America and just because a group of people don't want anything to do with another group they are called racist. I have seen no reason to call anyone who is envolved in this racist. They aren't planning on burning crosses at this party. They just want to have their own prom, which by law they have every right to do.

No one is questioning whether they are allowed to do it or not. That is besides the point. Racism is a bad thing, and this situation reeks of it, especially after that "music" comment by one of the parents. Azif a prom can't play both types of music. The fact that some kids can be so hateful towards another group that they need to even throw their own private party. This whole situation started because some white kids weren't happy with the previous year's integrated prom. I am really sure it had to do with the music being played(sure).

 

The fact that the govenor is being to cowardly to speak on this in fear of losing some of the white redneck vote.

Now I already know the answer and if they want their children to have a prom that doesn't include that cetain race then I think that it's their choice.

 

I can't understand why our society has turned something as simple as a private prom into a race issue, but if that's what they want to make it then they should consider all the factors.

2: White people are responsible for a majority of the crimes in this country. In case you didn't realize whites make up 75 percent of this countries population. They commit the majority of crimes in this nation. There is a larger percentage of minorities committing crimes but in sheer numbers, white beat the everloving shit out of every other minority in the country...hate to burst your bubble there.

To be precise: according to our 2000 census data, white people account for a little over 69.1% of the national population of 281,421,906 (then). But since coloured people tend to cluster, our median county population is over 79.5% white. Yes, that's correct. 79.5%.

I mean really, if coloured people are committing more crimes than us, I have to wonder when they ever get any sleep.

I'm not saying racism is a good thing. But you and me as Americans have the right to choose who we spend your free time with, and if these people don't want blacks at their private party. Then that is their constitutional right.

I think that if you do something out of the 1950's in 2003, then yeah, you are going to get press.

 

If they had said, lets have a party at billy's and its invite only...invited only whites...then it wouldn't catch national news. But when you call it the HIGH SCHOOL PROM with the HIGH SCHOOLS name in it and say the black students aren't allowed...then hell freakin yeah you are going to draw critisim and you deserve to. Free country goes both ways. If they want the freedom to call the sugregated party the prom they the rest of the country has the right to point and shake thier head...

 

And I do have to say the governer is quite the moron for not blasting this thing...even if he disagrees. He already lost the redneck racist vote in Georgia because he didn't vote back in the Banner of Racism as the state flag again. Go try to win the normal, non inbred vote and maybe you can get a second term.
