Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 The Bloody-Disgusting website has learned that New Line will debut both a teaser poster and trailer for Freddy Vs. Jason the week that The Matrix Reloaded opens (May 15). The trailer is a little over a minute long and will be playing with some prints of "Reloaded". The new Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines trailer is attached to "Reloaded", so not all theaters will have the "FvJ" trailer added as well. The studio is also expect to be printing banners for the 4th of July weekend. Thanks to 'Brad' for the heads up. Credit: ComingSoon.Net
Guest NoCalMike Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 There is a fake trailer circulating on the net right now, with just a bunch of clips of old FT13th and NOES movies. Although it is all stuff I have seen, the montage still kicks ass.
Guest RedJed Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Ahem, speaking of a teaser poster......fuck all that mess of waiting two weeks And yes, thats from the official website of the film which opened up today. http://www.freddyvsjason.com. Lots of goodies over there, including new pics from the film. Heres just one of em *marks the fuck out*
Guest Downhome Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 If Michael Myers was there in the middle, I might not be able to contain myself.
Guest NoCalMike Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Oh hell yah. I read someone's review that has seen the film and they said it was not the"disaster, most are probably expecting" and that it is quite entertaining with a good job being paid to details from past situations during each respective series.
Guest Downhome Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I pray that it isn't shit, I hope to God it isn't. I wish this film would be truly dark and gritty, smart and intelligent, and basicly just classic. I know that a film of this type doesn't need to be any of that really, but I would love to have a film of that type with these two characters. I know this one wont be like that, but still, it would be cool. I just can't wait for this one to be released, I am anticipating this one more than X2 or the new Matrix flick.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I'm hoping they got all the cheese out in Jason Goes To the Moon or whatever. But in an y case, even if this sucks, I'll still have fun with it. It's sad that I look at the list of movies coming out and all I can think is "Freddy vs Jason is gonna kick fuckin ass"
Guest Downhome Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Anyone want to go ahead and go out on a limb and lay out an early prediction for what this one will pull in at the BO?

Guest fazzle Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Anyone want to go ahead and go out on a limb and lay out an early prediction for what this one will pull in at the BO? I'd be shocked if it topped $35 million for it's total US box office. Jason X only did $12.6 according to IMDB, it's been 9 years since New Nightmare, and 12 years since the last regular Nightmare, so it doesn't exactly have a lot of momentum going in. I can see if pulling some decent bank though on rentals if the movie actually is watchable. Of course, I could see it being more watchable if it was Freddy vs. someone I give a shit about.
Guest RedJed Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I think the box office success will depend on proper marketing. Jason X was all over the place marketing wise but the previews for it came off more campy than anything. It was a failure even before it hit theaters. Granted this film is about 10 plus years too late but I still think it might do something significant given the time of the year they decided to release it now. Plus its going to bring back alot of the old horror buffs I think just because this is a "dream movie" for them if there ever has been one. I don't think there will be a problem with this pulling in 50 million or something, like I said though with proper marketing. Thank god they didn't do June as planned though, that would have been another easy downfall for the film........mixed in with the big summer blockbuster releases. By mid August things will be a little more calmed down in that aspect and this will be a nice change of pace.
Guest Marshall Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 The tagline should be "A gLOVE/macHATE relationship" but that really doesn't work cause there is an e in Machete. Oh well, they should use that anyway, because the market this is aimed at is stupid teenages who can't spell.
Guest Marshall Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 The website is up bty: http://www.freddyvsjason.com/
Guest PencilJobber Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 It will be weird as hell to see 2 of horror's legends going at it.Is it true there will be 2 endings and they will play randomly with 1 winning each ending? Anyway can't wait to catch them Freddie looks so out matched in that picture of them getting ready to go at it but i always rated Freddie better than Jason myself.
Guest Downhome Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 What are the odds that neither one of them actually "win" in the end and are both destroyed (well, as much as they could be in a movie like this, lol)? I wish to God that Michael Myers was with New Line Cinemas. I could just imagine Freddy and Jason going at it, then right before they finish their fight, Michael busts in and takes them both on, and leaves them in a bloody mess. The film would then end with Michael walking into the darkness, as the Halloween theme begins. Ignore me, that's just something I'd mark the fuck out for, heh.
Guest RedJed Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 If anything I think the film will end with both of them surviving somehow, leaving room open for a sequal. I mean hell, we all know that Freddy or Jason dying is always going to be a swerve somehow, so why bother anymore? Probably would be best to just leave it as they are "contained" as far as an ending goes. Honestly I'm more interested in how they script it for both to return since the last image we saw of them timeline wise was when Freddy was pulling Jasons mask underground in JGTH. So I'm assuming somehow they get out of hell or something and then chaos ensues. I just hope its not a thing that they are back in "real life" without any reasoning. I know its already been thrown around that they might want to make an extended franchise out of this film if it does well enough.
Guest Nanks Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Can someone educate the ignorant Aussie on the background story to all this?? I know who Freddie is from the first couple of Nightmare on Elm Streets, but know nothing about Jason. How are they associated with each other???
Guest tank_abbott Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Freddy and jason are in Hell, Kids aren't haven't nightmares for Krueger to invade anymore, so Freddy sends jason to earth to scare teens and give them nightmares, but Jason kills them intead, so Freddy's pissed at jason and they duel/ That is how i have heard the story goes...
Guest Downhome Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I'm just waiting for even more connections to be made between Freedy and Jason. Something, like, hmmm... ...them saying that Jason's spirit was in Fred Krueger which help led him to kill the children in his life, and once Fred Krueger died he then just was evil on his on, or something like that, lol.
Guest J*ingus Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 ::looks at the difference in height between Freddy and Jason in the picture:: So what was all that noise about Kane Hodder being too big and hulking to play the part correctly? Christ, this guy looks even more massive. Also, how much you wanna bet that the movie does some really lame storyline copout where the main heroes are some teenagers and J&F are just fighting in the background most of the time?
Guest Seth Willson Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 IKnow most of the movie if anyone wants me to post it from another site i go to. Anyway.. There is gonna be a sequel... Freddy (during interview) said there was supposed to be one. And they should have a Jason vs Micheal Movie(s). If you guys want the info on the movies let me know and i'll post it here. -Seth
Guest eiker_ir Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 *marks the fuck out* *marks the fuck out too*

Dont worry about it, I think we dont need to hear anything else from you about it
Guest Pegasus Kid Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I don't watch these movies so I'm not quite sure how this works but doesn't Freddy Kreuger only attack people's minds? How are they fighting coporally? Like I said, I'v enever seen these flicks so I may have missed out on Freddy entering "the real world." Also, if they are physically fighting, wouldn't the behemoth with a hockey mask beat the shit out of skinny boy Freddy?
Guest El Satanico Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 "skinny boy" Freddy is smart and quick..."hoss" Jason is a mindless zombie. It's the same as Batman vs. Superman.
Guest Nanks Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Honestly I'm more interested in how they script it for both to return since the last image we saw of them timeline wise was when Freddy was pulling Jasons mask underground in JGTH. So I'm assuming somehow they get out of hell or something and then chaos ensues. I just hope its not a thing that they are back in "real life" without any reasoning. When I asked before about some kind of history of the two, this is mainly what I was talking about. This makes it seem as if the two have interacted in the past. Please explain what's going on someone!! My interest is piqued, I'm enthralled with the idea of two characters crossing paths like this. I'm looking forward to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen for the same reason.
