Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Thanks to Bill Bultman for the following: In case everyone missed it. Method Man (a rapper) was on The Late Late show with Craig Kilborn last night. While talking with Craig, it was brought up that he is a BIG pro wrestling fan, and that he'd like to work with the WWE. Having said that, Kilborn picks up the phone, and calls Vince! (obviously that portion was preset, since Craig had Vince's cell phone number, and said that Craig knew that he was interrupting Vince's dinner). They bantered for a minute, and Vince asked to hear an example of what Method Man can do. Method man then did a quick promo/cut ala Hulk Hogan. Vince said it sounded good and Method Man had potential. Who knows, maybe we'll see Method Man on the WWE. What is it, having a Video Game isn't good enough? Word Life! Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Cause we need the rappers vs rednecks gimmick II Kinda funny how Henning's group got way more over with that...
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Thank God; Craig Kilborn, Vince McMahon, and Method Man are going to save WWE! The ratings slump is over! Buyrates will increase! Wrestlers? Who needs 'em? Get the Ol' Dirty Bastard on the phone!
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Meh, I was more impressed with Meth's cigarette trick.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 3, 2003 ::slams head into wall:: ENOUGH FUCKING RAPPERS
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Hey, that cigarette trick should get the Main Event Interview slot at SummerSlam, since WrestleMania isn't returning to the Silverdome. Seriously, how long until PPVs get Main Event Interviews?
Guest papacita Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I figured it was only a matter of time before Meth got involved with WWE. The interview sounded tongue in cheek though...to me anyway.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 3, 2003 At least Meth has more desire and respect then Goldberg...
Guest BDC Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Wonder if he'll get sent to OVW to learn how to work... Ah hell, the joke is overused anyway.
Guest dpac Report post Posted May 3, 2003 He could not be worse than Master P. I actually Method Man could be a good character if handled right. Wait this is the WWE.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Those who have Def Jam Vendetta: how's Method's workrate? Finisher?
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 3, 2003 YES!!!!!! Now we need Redman as his tag partner, and Ol' Dirty Bastard as their manager!!! Man, this is some great news to hear the first time I come onto the internet today.
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 i am anxiously awaiting a cena/method man fued.. hell bring in spanky as well!
Bored 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I think it was just a joke. I could see them doing a one-shot celebrity appearance but not to wrestle and Method Man is pretty damn funny so it probably wouldn't be all that bad.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted May 3, 2003 They can do great things for Cena if Meth was around. Just don't let him wrestle, for Christ's sake.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Method Man would make a good manager for a boring wrestling like say Maven.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Meth knows Wrestling better 47% of today's impressionable young roster does... He won't hurt anyone if he does a little thing in the mid-card...I doubt Cena/Meth will headline Vengence...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Hey wow WWe news that doesn't make me want to bash my head in with a hammer. That's rare these days... They should bring in Snoop Dogg too. Snoop Dogg and RVD would make for a good wrestler/manager combo.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Meth knows Wrestling better 47% of today's impressionable young roster does...... So does a good portion of this board. We shouldn't be anywhere near a wrestling TV show and niether should "meth" He won't hurt anyone if he does a little thing in the mid-card... Maybe not in the buiness sense, but I think an untrained wrestler could damn well hurt someone physically. Is there any upside to bringing him in?

Besides the media attention and a possible increase in WWE's credibility? They could conceivably pull a 'Rock n' Wrestling Connection '03' with this and get them some POSITIVE mainstream attention again if this works out.

Like how Mister P launched WCW to the top a couple of years ago? He'll be anothr huge contract bogging down thecard and taking the place of useful people

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I can't believe the same people who bitch about bringng back old wrestlers for many very valid reasons WELCOME bringing in guys like this! Every single con applied to Goldberg can be applied to this guy.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 3, 2003 So who will be the new West Texas Rednecks? Bradshaw can be Duncum I don't know who could fill Hennig's role--maybe Venis. Who was the other one?
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted May 3, 2003 You have to put Austin there...and move Jamie Noble to Raw. Done and done!
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 3, 2003 You have to put Austin there...and move Jamie Noble to Raw. Done and done! Eh--Austin's a co-GM now, so doesn't work so well. Plus Austin isn't a good singer. Maybe HBK?
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 3, 2003 In all honesty, if they brought in someone like Method Man for anything more then a guest spot I'll boycott the show. Bad enough they don't show hardly any wrestling as it is.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 4, 2003 In All Likihood, Method will only do one of those "With Method Man in his Corner" type of deas...He'll hit the heel with a Gold Record and all is good... But Seriously...This wouldn't be like Rodman, Malone, Greene, White or L.T... Method Has a long and very affectionate love and respect for Wrestling...I doubt that he'd treat it like a joke... Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Look on the bright side, Anglesault. Atleast Vince isn't bringing Eminem in and using "Sing For The Moment" as his theme song.
