Bored Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 http://espn.go.com/ncf/news/2003/0503/1548767.html I guess you can chalk this up as karma for taking a new job during a Rose Bowl run with Washington St. but this is just too damn funny for getting fired over getting lap dances. What was also funny is a couple of days ago when they were doing the story on ESPN they were interviewing those crazed Alabama fans and one them said Alabama head coach's are looked as highly as priests in the state. I was like damn he should have just molested kid and he would have kept his job!
Guest RepoMan Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 Sure, most fans will look if your paying off your players if your contending, but God forbid you go to a legal place of buisness and have a good time. Or go to a party a drink a few Natty's a kiss a fat chick. With all the scandels like at UGa, St. Bonna, and Fresno, how can pepole get all worked up over this shit. Marshall got NCAA scantions that almost kept them off TV and out of Bowl games, and the Coach dosn't even get a pay cut.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 This is a total joke, unless there's a part of the story they haven't shared with us. But until they show us something he did that justifies being fired for...fuck the state of Alabama...well not including apo.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 If he gets fired and Eustachy gets off, someone's got some 'splainin' to do.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Coaches are public figures and have to know there being placed on a higher pedestal than other people. Having a stripper run up a 1,000 bill looks bad for the school, and it hurts recruiting. I've heard reports that Price was seen drunk around Tuscalousa numerous times, and had been warned. The Pensacola incident was the straw the broke the camels back.

Guest Mattdotcom Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 fuck the state of Alabama...well not including apo. I'm from Alabama, but I'm not gonna flaunt that fact.
Agent_Bond34 Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Anyone think this will hurt his chances of being hired anywhere else?
Guest El Satanico Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 fuck the state of Alabama...well not including apo. I'm from Alabama, but I'm not gonna flaunt that fact. Well unless you're crucifying Mike Price over this, you're alright.
Guest Human Fly Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I can see both sides of the argument, but I would have kept Price, and I would keep Eustachy as well. It could very well hurt the school, but what these guys are doing is legal. They should be held accountable, and given a warning, but it should not cost them their job. If Eustachy gets fired it should be for trying to label himself an alcoholic to save his job.

I was like damn he should have just molested kid and he would have kept his job! Since Bored knows nothing of athletics at U of A, I'll fill you in. This is The University of Alabama. They expect their coaches to act in a "christian" way at all times. Do I agree? No, but Price knew what he was getting into and what was expected of him when he took the job. Vern is correct, Price had been caught partying in T-Town a few times and warned. But when a stripper is running up a huge room service bill (UofA credit card) after she spent the night with a married man, he should have just quit right then. He's an idiot that should have known better and now we're going to lose a ton of players and the new caoch can't meet with the team until 3 weeks before the season. Rumor has it Gene Stallings may be asked in as an interim head coach.
Guest Choken One Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I find it amazing all the sudden Universities have a Morale and Moral issues...
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I find it amazing all the sudden Universities have a Morale and Moral issues... You must not be familiar with The UofA athletics either. It's always been that way. They have always put emphasis on their coaches being good moral family men. That why Mike Dubois got fired, because he admitted that he cheated on his wife. It has always been that way at The UofA and it will contiue to always be that way, unfortunatley.

But until they show us something he did that justifies being fired for...fuck the state of Alabama...well not including apo. Why? Because they fired a football coach. Who cares about Mike Price, or Larry Eustachy.

I don't even care about OHIO STATE or U.C...Why should I care about Alabama's Moral Code of ethics.. Hell In Alabama...Cheating on your wife or Going to strip club is bad... Racist comments and you get a petty slap across your hands like a 3rd grade parociahal student.

I never said I liked it or thought it was right, but that's how it is and as a Bama fan I have learned to except it.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Well...I didn't care about Alabama before this anyways, but this is just another good reason.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Mike Dubose committed numerous violations, that the school is still paying the price for. Cheating on your wife is bad no matter where you live.
HurriShane Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Anyone think this will hurt his chances of being hired anywhere else? He probably won't get another job this season, but next season I could see him getting a head coaching job at a smaller school or maybe going to the NFL as an assistant.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Well unless you're crucifying Mike Price over this, you're alright. I've just laughed it off. I mean, you shoulda seen some of the reactions when Fran left. I thought that was pretty sorry, yeah, if only because every week the man would answer the question "Are you gonna stay?" with a "I love this school blah blah blah yes" answer on his very own radio show. I was dreading next season anyway, so whatever.

Bama will just run the ball, all the time. But I think we'll have a coach by Wed. at the latest. I don't see another 10-3 season, but we'll win at least 6 or seven games no matter who we get.

Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 I'm just shocked that me and Johnson actually like the same college team... What can I say? The Tide has always impressed me. I'm old enough to remeber Bryant, so my expectations of them are always pretty high. But with the probation and now the coaching situation I'm afraid it'll be a few years before we get back on our feet. UGA is going to be the team to beat in the SEC for the next several years I'm afraid. But anyway, APO, I'm sorry if I shattered your perception of me. I do have some taste!
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 From what I read about Stallings he was back in his ranch in Texas, before the ink dryed in the story.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 A quick update. Price now says he was "too drunk" to remember what happened that night, although he apparently was sober enough to continue to deny hittin those two hookers. also one of the hookers said she yelled "Roll Tide, roll." and he said "It's rolling baby, it's rolling!"
Guest Redhawk Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 Has anyone seen a picture of the stripper he was with? Her name is Destiny something. I heard she was a real dog.
Guest Bricks Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 I haven't seen the stripper, but Jim Rome said that she looks like a pirate.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 That dipshit Price is appealing his fireing. He's such a dumbass.
