Judgement Day

Recommended Posts

Jericho was able to get a decent match out of Hogan and Goldberg is probably slightly more skilled than Hogan, so...

Remember that Judgment Day is going to be in Charlotte, North Carolina.

If Nash gets any reaction at all, he'll probably be booed.

I wonder how Charlotte will react to Goldy.

Oh, and will that huge money-making Sable-Torrie storyline spawn a blowjo--er, blowoff match at JD? The match that no one but the McMahons, the Meros, and that tard danndogg wanted to see?

ONLY thing I'm interestedi n whatsoever is how loud the pop Ric Flair gets is gonna be and which face is gonna be turned heel on theo ther side.

O'Haire/Hogan (Why is O'Haire getting another PPV match after that disaster last week?)

I marked it at * 1/2. Nothing special to be sure, but if you want to allow the kid to develop,

I gave him a year and change in OVW to develop. Still nothing special.

Okay, so confirmed so far is Brock/Show, Team Angle/Guerreros, Nash/HHH, Goldberg/Jericho (is this confirmed?), and O'Haire/Hogan (is this confirmed too?).

Out of those, I'm looking forward to Angle/Guerroros and Jericho/Goldberg ( I want to see if Y2J can get a good match outta Goldy). Oh, and HHH/Nash for pure car crash value. What are the other matches going to be then? Will Matt Hardy have a match for his belt? WE can guess Cena/Spanky if this week's Smackdown was any indication. Who will RVD and Kane go against for their belts? What will Booker T do (he has to do something based on being promoted on the poster, right?)? What will Benoit and Rhyno do?

He is on the stick. The vinegettes he gave were one hell of a lot better then the ones Kurt did to intro his debut. He's got a great look, natural heel charisma, and seems to be getting getting non- canned heat, which is always a good thing.

Plus, I don't think judging his match against Rkikshi of all people is the best avenue for scouting his potential.

On the mic he BLOWS. He can't pull this character off unless he's doing a heavily edited vignette.

Because that was a 50/50 suck job. Each man contributed equally to making that the worst match on the worst card of the year. That was not all Rikishi's fault.

Man, the brand-only ppvs are going to be great. Tommy Dreamer vs. Stevie Richards will be on it and have absolutely no hype at all, there will be 2 separate womens matches and they both will be painfully boring... shit, they will have to have a big grabber for the main event (I'm thinking Elimination Chamber - HHH, HBK, Nash, Goldberg, Jericho, Booker) ... the card will be so freakin empty that they will actually have to start getting people to watch Heat to follow up on half of the matches.

As for Judgement day - they could give you the best card you will ever see... They have the talent, they have the money, they have the resources, they have the booking minds... But since they don't actually want to please their fans and give them something worth while like they deserve, they give you a bunch of bad matches for a high price and expect you to buy it.

No, he did fine with Kendrick and Dawn Marie.

The match with Rikishi was about as good as the average RAW match. I don't see why it stuck out as total crap to you.

But that was the best $40 I've ever spent.

I can agree with that...

As far as wrestling events go, that's probably the best one I've ever spent money on, or at least over the last few years that is.

He did? I must have missed that when he was telling a guy to streak and using that stupid catchphrase in situations where it made no sense

Well, the segment was ridiculous, but it certainly wasn't his fault. He's been doing the "Tyler Durdan" thing well. He has this great voice, and the catchphrase worked well in both situations.

Telling a guy to streak is not O'Haire's fault, it's the writers fault.

They should have Ohaire come up to someone with a cup of coffee and say,

"mmm, this coffee is good... but I'm not telling you something that you don't already know"

"uh sean, I don't drink coffee"

"heh, this is goooood coffee, heh heh heh"

(Cole)What does THAT mean? What is the connection between Sean Ohaire and Coffee?!

(Tazz)I dunno brutha, but we betta keep an eye on it!

"I'm not telling you anything you don't already know." works in the same way "Quote the Raven, Nevermore." or "It's true, It's true." works. It's an exclamation point to whatever he's saying, it has no true bearing on what he's saying, just something the crowd likes to hear.

Kinda like the gun barrel thing in those 007 movies. There's no point in worrying about the ramifications of it, it's there because it's cool basically.

(Hmmm...this is the most posts that I've evr had on one of my topics! :) )

I guess I am kinda lloking forward to Jericho vs Goldberg....but I know who's gonna be the victor there so, at the same time, I don't want to get excited.

No, with I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, you have to have some kind of definitive statement before it. Not "Go Streak! I'm not telling you anything you don't already know!" Or whatever the fuck it was. With "Quote the Raven, Nevermore" You can say just about anything before it. The material was awful. But he did nothing with it. He's not neary as goodas you all say he is, and he has major problems trying to work that restrictive catchphrase in.

Unless they were playing up Sean O'haires demonic powers of persuation. Kinda like a Jedi Mindtrick!
