I love this, a lot. Just go and check out Mr. America's bio over at WWE.com and check it out, it's great. It's one of the greatest things, ever, heh.

I wonder how long and how far WWE will take this gimmick.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

As far as they took Al Wilson...

(which, to remind everyone, was way too freaking far).

(Honestly, I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but that Al Wilson angle really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, REALLY, sucked. I can't believe there was little to no outrage towards it... damn that katie vick angle...sucked the life right out of everyone.)

("From: America" got a chuckle outta me, I'll admit... and I'll be damned if that pic doesn't make me giggle.)

Hey, you like the song also, right? :D

The Al Wilson shit also got to me, as well as the Vick shit obviously did. Those are the types of things that I mainly have huge problems with, as I've stated in the past.

This with Mr. America though, I find it down right entertaining and funny, and thus far, they are playing it off just as I wanted them to, so I'm happy.

Damn, that is too funny. At least, for once, you can't say that the WWE isn't going all out for a storyline. Too bad they don't do that more often.

he'll look 7 foot, if he is not standing next to someone whom is 7 foot....or even 6'10

in anyevent this is a old school tongue n cheek attempt, they know that everyone knows but they pretend they don't know, but they know.........don't they?

I wish they would build up how much Mr. America looked up to Hulk Hogan while he was "growing up" and that it is his dream to meet him. Then, just as they did with Foley by having more than one of his characters on the screen, they have a special video of Mr. America meeting Hulk Hogan somewhere.

:D

I never laughed as hard at wrestling as I did when he shoved the flag down his pants.

And the bio's a classic

I hope they do that, and REALLY build it up, untill one day...ONE DAY, Mr. America is unmasked~!

Then I hope they play it off as being shocked as hell that it is Hulk Hogan!

That bio is priceless.

Particularly the fact that he comes to the ring to "Real American", used by such superluminaries as...Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco.

I want to hear Tazz say, "This Mr. America, he's almost 7 feet tall. HE'S A HOSS BAH GAWD!!!" That would be gold. Then again, I just want to see Smackdown. Damn Vince....

The real problem with Al Wilson though, was how long they carried it on for. That thing went on from like late sept. to early jan. That's like 3 months. And near the end they were getting 4 segments a show. And really, there WAS no end. No one benefited from it. That time could have been used to establish a cruiserweight division...

...god that picture is funny. Reminds me a lot of this...

Geez Al Wilson wasn't that bad. It had me entertained and laughing up until it had the lesbo angle thrown in for no reason.

Damnit, damn it to HELL RRR! That feud DID have an end, Dawn WILSON and Torrie WILSON had a huge climatic finish to the feud with a HUGE match on Velocity! Yeah, don't tell ME it didn't have an end, huff!

The worse part of that feud was that it was the longest running fued on WWE TV. That is one thing I'll never understand, I never even know what the point was in the first place.

That winch Dawn Marie, she has even dropped the "Wilson" from her name, it's almost like she's just forgot about her ex. :(

So RRR, check out my question to you in that other thread btw.

Coming to the ring to "Real American," the song, of course, that was also the theme for ... Pat Patterson and Gerry Brisco

Brilliant. Just brilliant.

What they need to do is get someone to look like Hogan, then have Hogan come out during a Mr. America match, just like they did with Owen-Jarrett during the Blazer angle. I remember the first time Owen showed up in the ring at the same time as the Blazer, the announcers were totally freaked, because they kept calling him out as Owen previous to then.

I think it's Dusty Rhodes under the mask. ;)

I did LOVE the Midnight Rider gimmick back the the early 80's in the NWA.

Little is known about this mysterious Superstar, Mr. America. There’s no telling what’s underneath that mask. Maybe he’s bald ... you know, like a bald eagle.

He sports a physique as chiseled as Mt. Rushmore, leading many fans to conclude that he never neglects to train and take his vitamins. Being that he's a true American hero, he no doubt says his prayers and believes in himself as well.

Coming to the ring to "Real American," the song, of course, that was also the theme for ... Pat Patterson and Gerry Brisco, Mr. America is an overwhelming fan favorite. One thing’s for sure: His American-maniacs are always in full force, from sea to shining sea, brother.

Ha Ha Ha, I love this gimmick!

They could also do it the way they did when Bobby Heenan was trying to expose The Giant Machine as Andre the Giant.

The real Mr. "Hogan" America come out, Vince goes apeshit pointing out the similarities. Then as he turns his back have a fake Mr. America come out with something opposite to the similarity that Vince is pointing out. When Vince gets that confused WTF look on his face and turns around, bring Hogan back out. Have a pre-recorded "live" feed to Hogan's home where he's telling Vince that he's nuts would add to it as well.

That picture made me really sad… and made me hate this ridiculous Hogan crap even more.

I hope O'Haire goes over "Mr. America" at JD, although I'm not holding my breath.

Imagine if they put all this effort and thought into someone who could still entertain and wrestle regularly.

Amen.

This is mindboggling when you think of how they took two of their self-professed most promising stars (Lesnar and Cena), and did nothing to help make their match special in any way, shape or form. Yet, they'll throw all their energy into mid-card tripe like this, when in all likelihood it will lead to another Battle of the Dinosaurs, and along the way squash yet another promising young talent in O'Haire (although I still have my reservations about him as well).

This is me shaking my head in utter disbelief and despondency.

That is what will happen, I pray to FaTe.

This angle is fine with me, only if they keep it off the main event timeslot. Other than that, they can do whatever they want. They are totally making fun of Hogan, and he is playing along just fine.

I keep thinking of the SNL skit where The Rock is Superman.

They could have Mr. America with Vince and Steph, and they could be talking about Hogan.

Vince: You know I heard Hogan was gay!

Mr.America: I am not! I mean He is not brotha!
