What are the most "watchable" films...

Meaning, what films are you able to watch over, and over, and over, and over again and just NEVER get tired of them at all? Hmmm, the most re-watchable films I suppose you could say, lol.

 

The main one right off the top of my head is Memento, as I could watch that one over and over and never get bored of it. It's just so deep in my eyes (as well as both my personal favorite film ever and in my eyes the greatest film ever made) that I just love to watch it over and over, both forwards AND backwards, heh.

 

Then we have stuff that I could always watch that are a little bit more light hearted like the two Ghostbuster movies, and other things like that. That's enough from me for now, I'll list more later, but what about you guys?

Oh hell yeah, and screw me! I forgot about Back To the Future! That is THE ultimate re-watchable film for me, I can't believe I didn't put that one down! I have watched part one two times this week actually, lol.

Those are some movies that, no matter if they are half finished or not, I can just watch and get into.

I know that's a long list, but I didn't have cable for awhile and I have a shit load of movies. Those were always at the top.

Seriously, my list probably ends with these 10 films; everything else, I've just grown tired of seeing. Whether it's case of a cool plot, great humor or "something new you notice with each viewing", this is MY definitive list...

It's probably the only "guilty pleasure" on that list. It's just a film that I can enjoy time and time again, though I understand ALL of the criticisms about it.

 

If anything was inserted in its place, it would probably another sports flick (Major League 2 comes to mind.)

'kane' will give you something new every time you look at it, & the arc of the story always holds me in till the end.

 

for all the cliches it has, there's something really endearing about 'shawshank'. i was one of the few people to actually catch it while it was still in the theater, & it immediately became one of my favorites. i sat down & watched it every time it came on showtime (which was a LOT), and even now when i catch it on tv i have to watch at least a little bit of it. never bores me, ever.

 

same with 'it's a wonderful life'. just something endearing & very personal about it that speaks to me, and i always cry when i watch it.

 

'pulp fiction' for the same reasons as 'kane', though it does lag in some places.

 

'boogie nights' gets better every time i see it, & for different reasons each time.

This Is Spinal Tap never gets old for me as almost every scene is funny. Its almost impossible to choose a favourite part because there's so many.

 

I'm not one of those prople who worship Kevin Smith but I can watch Clerks any time. The dialogue is funny, the characters are likeable and its always an enjoyable watch.

 

Bottle Rocket and Rushmore are both films I can watch on a fairly regular basis as well. Wes Anderson's filmmaking style and the great performances being the main reasons. Two films which are funny, well observed, wise and free of cynicism or empty gestures.
