Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Injuries force company to adopt new style... WWE is working on "slowing down" their in-ring style to help cut down on injuries. Agents have been working closely with talent on changing their styles to a slower one. Vince McMahon even spoke to much of the roster at Backlash regarding the changes in style. WWE is hoping to deliver a style that isn't as risky and dependent on big bumps and "spots." Instead, they want to carefully book the matches to tell a story. Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted May 5, 2003 I can't help but ask, how could WWE matches possibly be any slower? Will the ring be replaced with an abnormaly large stasis chamber?
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 5, 2003 OH FUCKING HELL~!!!! It's because they have to wrestle to a defined style and worry about breaking it that's causing the injuries! We seriously do NOT need slower matches.

HHH can take 822 punches and STILL come back with a punch of his own! That's about all they've got left now.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 5, 2003 How long until top rope moves are banned? We aren't WCW! We swear!
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Wait wait wait wait WAIT... you're telling me they can go SLOWER? Look at Hogan vs McMahon at WMXIX and how slow that match was. Then apply that to the rest of the roster. It's going to be a sad life in the wrestling world of the WWE.

Guest JHawk Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Matches are supposed to tell a story. That's why you should teaching things like psychology to young, upcoming wrestlers. It's not the slow matches that are the problem, it's the lack of psychology in the slow matches that are the problem. But this does mean the cruiserweights can forget having good matches ever again. Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 5, 2003 How long until top rope moves are banned? We aren't WCW! We swear! At first I thought that was funny. But seriously, I'm forever calling the WWE: WCW. I mean, is there ANY difference? Really??? Top ropes won't be banned till HHH botches one. Thankfully, he hasn't yet. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Well, it depends on what they mean by slower. If it means more hoss style plodding along matches where there's no bumps or wrestlers leaving their feet, then this is horrible. If it just means more mat wrestling and less emphasis on "big bumps" it won't that bad.

Guest notJames Report post Posted May 5, 2003 From the desk of Vincent K. McMahon, Jr.: To slow things down, all matches will now take place underwater. Any wrestler who can not grow gills before then will be released immediately. Source: mycrustyass.net

LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Aaaaah, yes.......we get to relive the pacing of matches like Triple H vs. Undertaker at KOTR, Hogan vs. Andre, Undertaker vs. Stone Cold, Big Show vs. Taker......now what? Next there's gonna be less impact moves like suplexes and powerbombs. It's gonna be kick, kick, kick, punch, kick, punch, punch, punch, elbow, kick to stomach, pedigree.......this shit gets worse and worse
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted May 5, 2003 well...at least the Big Show won't look out of place... ...wait...who am I kidding... even if every person was glued to mat and couldn't actually move in any discernable way....Big Show would still look slower than them all... Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted May 5, 2003 It's gonna be kick, kick, kick, punch, kick, punch, punch, punch, elbow, kick to stomach, pedigree.......this shit gets worse and worse October 26th, 2003 - Management has chosen to make every single finisher in the WWE be the Pedigree...but so as to not take away from the aura and mystique of HHH, the move will only be allowed to be used by him... Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Does this mean that when Rhyno sets up for the gore, instead of running full tilt at his opponent, he will take a nice, leisurely stroll?

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Let me... ONCE AGAIN Remind the WWE that the bulk of injures are due to.. SAY it with me... TRIPPING! and Clotheslining people too hard Not Emerald Fusions....not Fisherman Busters and not Piledrivers
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted May 5, 2003 Does this mean that when Rhyno sets up for the gore, instead of running full tilt at his opponent, he will take a nice, leisurely stroll? No.... Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted May 5, 2003 ...and not Piledrivers Ah, but we're forgetting the 'near fatal' Tombstone that HHH took at Judgement Day 2000 that set off the ban on piledrivers. Of course, I'm sure just tapping the guy on the shoulder results in some kind of mucle pull, but he IS HHH. Where am I going with this? Simple. HHH needs tape up more of his body. His wrists, knees and shins are not enough. The people demand it. I demand it.
