I wasn't around for the very inception of the site, but it was late May of last year when I came aboard, so I didn't miss much of it. The growth of the site has been tremendous: we've taken it from a forum with a bunch of nobodies writing on the front page to a very good independent website, with writers who have become respected for their knowledge and their skill at the craft. Dames, I have always maintained that you have one of the best moderating staffs I have ever seen at a board the size of yours. When I first heard about Dames taking over as the owner of the site I had my doubts. I did not think that a poster could run a board as large and diverse as the Smarts. Oh, how I was wrong. After some time passed, it finally dawned on me why Dames succeeded with the Smarts: A former poster was running a board filled with posters where he was once one of them and he could relate to their problems and treat the posters with respect. With my tenure on Smackdown! coming to a close at the end of this month, though, several people will be catching up to me. JHawk and Brandon are already close, so I imagine they'll surpass me before long. ::sniff, sniff:: Between the three of us, though, we've provided somewhere around 1/3 of the site's content, which is pretty dashed good. At the risk of sounding biased, I think we have a damn good core of consistent contributors on the mainpage, and I'd stack our regular writers against those of any other wrestling/pop culture site out there.
