Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Kurt Angle made a pitch to WWE management to let him return to in-ring action before he was technically cleared by his doctors, since he feels so much better. WWE refused to do so. Some friends of Rob Van Dam are surprised that RVD is able to work his high impact style in the WWE schedule, because his knees are so shot. Only a month or so into the push, but WWE officials are said to be souring on Sean O’Haire, and blame him for a perceived lackluster reaction to his pairing with Roddy Piper. No word on what that means for O’Haire’s push. -ripped off 411, who stole it from somebody else. ~*~ Lemme get this. O'Haire has had no feud, not much ring time, no promo time..and they're souring on him, how? Fuck, guys. You've given Test, Billy Gunn, Albert, The Big Show, and Bill DeMott more pushes than I can think of, and they're complaining about O'Haire? Sometimes, I really wonder what the fuck's going through their minds.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 In all fairness, at least they're basically right about O'Haire, dude isn't really very good, awesome hype vignettes aside. Of course, my tune will change if they bring back the SEANTON BOMB~!
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 How can he be blamed for this? He hasn't had a push to speak of..unless you consider playing second fiddle to a fat guy in a kilt, a fat guy in something resembling a BUTT-flap, and an old guy in a red-white-and blue getup.
Guest Redhawk Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Not like I'm backstage or anything, but I'm starting to think O'Haire must either have an attitude problem or he just rubs people the wrong way (smug, cocky, "young punk," etc.). I can't find any other explanation for why he gets such a short leash and less-talented slugs get chance after chance. But maybe it's just the whole "WCW guy" thing.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 This stuff with Piper and Rikishi isn't his fault, just to clarify my earlier post. I mean when he was in WCW and WWF before he got sent down, he wasn't very good. He may be better now I guess, but it seems like we'll never know.

I mean when he was in WCW and WWF before he got sent down, he wasn't very good. He may be better now I guess, but it seems like we'll never know. He'll end up in TNA then.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Hopefully. Then he can be in The Gathering. He's got that "Flock" look down pat.
Guest Kingpk Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 It IS the "WCW guy thing." I'll bet Vince thinks of most former WCW wrestlers as "beneath WWE quality" hence the short leash. Albert, Test et al are all WWF/E creations.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Hopefully. Then he can be in The Gathering. He's got that "Flock" look down pat. As long as O'Haire wears that trench coat and actually have like a SUIT on, then I'm totally for him joining The Gathering.

Guest Space_Cowboy Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 It's all becuase he didn't shake Taker's hand or whatever back when he first came to the WWE, any chance he had of success ended right there, you can't go upsetting the 'locker room leaders'.

Guest El Satanico Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 You get thrown in with Piper who's feuding over a damn coconut, then the office gets upset with you for getting a bad response...that has to suck. Not to mention the fact that Piper wasn't exactly setting the crowds on fire either. I knew Angle would try everything possible to get back in the ring now, instead of letting it heal
Guest BDC Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I think O'Haire was sent to OVW for "not saying Hi to Droz" or something. The real reason, so I've read, is that Bisch was going to build O'Haire as a major face if Fusient had bought WCW. Hence, Vince can be very bitter about a possible centerpiece for competition that never happened.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I first read that in Keith's books. I can imagine it was true, seeing as how O'Haire was really showing the psychoness to his character with the insane goatees and awesome hair (I wish I could get my hair to look lay perfectly like that) so it's definetly probable that Bischoff would've pushed him to the moon.

Guest Kingpk Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Kurt's just anxious to get back in the ring. A neck injury didn't stop him from going for gold, did it?
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Hmmm, only shot ever at a gold medal>another crappy episode of Smackdown. Just slightly.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Kurt's the workaholic type who always wants to go. Kurt is going to want to do whatever he does as long as he's physically able. The only thing that will stop Kurt is being paralyzed neck down or death. Has to be neck down, because even if Kurt was paralyzed chest down he'd probably beg Vince to let him wrestle.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Who cares about Kurt or O' whatever his name is, RVD has fucked up knees and he's still wrestling? He must be popping pain killers like m&ms.
Guest Ronixis Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Hmm... Thats strange... He had only one major injury. How can his legs be shot like HHH?
Guest Breetai Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Kurt's the workaholic type who always wants to go. Kurt is going to want to do whatever he does as long as he's physically able. And would, no doubt, still be able to drag broomsticks to **** matches.
Guest jester Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 The talent of SOH and Jones aside, what I really don't understand is why WWE sinks so much money into these guys before their debut, change their gimmick at the last second, push them for five seconds, and then abandon them. Nathan Jones: expensive videos showing him to be a psychotic waiting to get out of jail and cause pain. Then, they do a 180 on him and make him the Undertaker's suck buddy. SOH: Expensive video packages showing him to be a Devil's Advocate who loves to cause chaos. Then they do a 180 on him and make him Piper's suck buddy. I mean, maybe these guys just never had the rings skills to go anywhere anyway (especially Jones), but why take away the only thing that was working--their gimmicks--before throwing them to the wolves? Fuck. Even crime wouldn't pay if WWE ran it.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 RVD's knees are probably shot due to the fact that he's been launching himself into the air every 5 minutes for like 10 years or more. And he doesn't need painkillers, homie's rockin the ganj.

Guest DerangedHermit Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Kurt's just anxious to get back in the ring. A neck injury didn't stop him from going for gold, did it? "I tear my quadriceps all the time! Heck, I tore it this morning, and I'm fine!"
Guest Aecas Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Letting O'Haire do the Swanton again would be a good move, he made that look better than Hardy ever could.
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Give it up. O'Haire isn't ever going to do the Swanton again. Look at how Brock fucked up the SSP. O'Haire is now a plodding WWE hoss now, and works the "WWE Style." No high flying moves ever again from him.
