Guest starvenger Report post Posted July 11, 2003 Damn. Bye-bye, models. Yeah. Soooo close to having Reichen and Chip go out. I guess that this means next week is non-elimination...
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted July 11, 2003 Must be. That "Who will be eliminated...next?" at the top of the show was a total fakeout, though. That's ALWAYS signalled a non-elimination leg.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted July 11, 2003 when ever its a non-elimination leg, they never say anything about elimination at the beginning. And the bull racing thing is probably something that should have been on fear factor. Quite disgusting if you think about whats in that mud/water.

Guest starvenger Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Problems finding a travel agent, missing route markers, arrows, blowdarts, spears, and getting lost on the way to the checkpoint... Helluva anniversary.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Kelly and Jon look like they're on their way to a total meltdown. Jon is acting like an absolute ass. I know if anyone was trying to coach me like that after practically forcing the roadblock on me, their head would be my new target.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted July 18, 2003 All things considered though, Kelly did a heckuva lot better than everyone but Jeff...
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Yeah...I just wonder how much of that was editing, though.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted July 26, 2003 Well, hallelujah, the virgins are gone. I can't believe they lost to a team that got lost looking for the very first route marker, AND got aced out of the Fast Forward. Guess they should've slept more instead of staying awake not having sex. Now...next week has to be non-elimination. Who, then, gets the boot in two weeks? Who do you want the final 3 to be? Personally, I'd like to see David and Jeff go away...I at least care one way or the other about the other 3 teams.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted July 28, 2003 I'm with you here - the Goats rush a bit too much and that makes them vulnerable. This time around they put it all together and it makes them a threat. Reichen and Chip probably made a tactical error by going for the FF. They'll have to run a pretty good leg in 2 weeks to ensure that they don't get eliminated. Of course, the flipside is that since they KNOW they can't use the FF, they'll be more focused on doing the tasks at hand. Not that that helped any of the other teams when they went for the FF. The Clowns are still my faves, and I'm pulling for them to win. They've been racing very solid, but at this point any screwups can get magnified, so I'm hoping that none happen. Kelly and Jon were on a freaky bad luck/good luck carousel, but I was hoping that they'd go since I DID predict that Chillie would be final 3 way back when. Still, they're one of the 2 vulnerable teams heading into the final elimination leg. Anyways, in two weeks, this is how I think things play out: Kelly and Jon and the Goats go for the FF, with Kelly and Jon winning it. Since the Clowns and Reichen and Chip just go about their bidness, the Goats are SOL. YOUR final 3: Kelly and Jon, The Clowns, and Reichen and Chip. One final thing - Fox has pissed me off by moving Keen Eddie to the same time as TAR. I mean, I've come to grips that there's maybe 4 eps left in the show's life, but it's not like The OC is likely to last longer than 4 eps...
Guest starvenger Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Well, this ep was kinda anticlimatic, as it seemed that both the viewers and racers knew that it'd be a non-elimination leg. Thus, the racers were trying to jockey for position for next week's final elimination leg. As it stands right now, I have to revise my predictions and say that The Clowns and The Goats will go for the FF, although Jon and Kelly may do the unexpected and try for it. I can't remember whether there were FFs in the final two legs though - and at least one team will have not used a FF when we reach the final 3. Should be an interesting two (or three) weeks... CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2003 AUSTRALIA, BABY!!! I was hoping they'd get to go there. This should be a fun leg.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2003 Ugh. I am heartbroken. Stupid travel agent. I have no idea who to root for now.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2003 Me too. I was hoping that the Clowns would win. I COULD root for the Goats, since they haven't really done anything to piss off people, but they'd probably be the favourite right now, and we can't very well root for that, can we? I COULD root for Reichen and Chip, but they annoyed me at the beginning, were fine during the middle stages, and once they officially "outed" themselves to the teams (although I'm sure that they all knew already) they've gone back to annoying me again. The whole "Jon's mad because he got beat by a gay guy" line smacks of insecurity on THEIR part - it's a race, and if you get beat by ANYONE at this stage you're gonna be a bit pissed. Sadly, the Clowns were too far behind to make up the Fudgepackers' time penalty - I'd estimate that they got in about .5 - 1 hour after the time penalty. So that leaves Kelly and Jon, who are dysfunctional, but aren't on Tara/EvilWil or Zack/Shewhomustnotbenamed level. Given that Kelly is the only woman left, that makes this team the underdog, and probably the team I'll root for. btw, next week is listed as a 1-hour show, so no 2-hour finale, I guess... Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted August 8, 2003 Back in the thread I started... I too am pissed that the clowns are gone. I think I'll root for Kelly and Jon, but I also wouldn't mind David and Jeff.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2003 Finale is tonight. If this turns out to be the last episode ever for this show, watch for headlines about Les Moonves (president of CBS) being gruesomely dismembered. I already don't watch ABC anymore because they cancelled Sports Night and The Job, and I like TAR even more. I, too am cheering for Kelly and Jon, mostly because I don't want Flo to be remembered as the only woman to ever win TAR.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2003 Oh, well...congrats to Reichen and Chip. How funny was it that the Goats got the Guido treatment in Hawaii after finishing first the last two legs?
starvenger 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2003 That WAS pretty funny, but they brought it upon themselves by not trying harder to find a flight. Now if they had done that 2 legs ago the Clowns would have made the final 3 and probably stood a very good chance of winning. Anyways, I wouldn't mind Reichen and Chip winning so much if it their attitudes didn't suck. They basically spent the entire Race with a (no pun intended) chip on their shoulder and it prevented me from sympathizing with them. I guess it never dawned on them that in a race where if you're last in a leg, you're eliminated, whatever sexual preference you have is not a factor. The teams don't want to beat you because you're gay - they want to beat you, period. Anyways, attitude aside, they were definitely more deserving winners than She-who-will-not-be-named. Still wish the Clowns or Jon and Kelly won though.
