Storm shoots on Elizabeth's Death

Recommended Posts

Question;

I was wondering if you had any stories to share about the late Elizabeth; such sad news, but good memories can be a healer.

Reply;

To be honest I only met her a couple times. This may sound harsh but I've run out of sympathy for people in this business (or any other) whom, for the most part, take there own lives with drugs (which is what i understand is likely the cause of death)in this case. I'm just tired of very fortunate people throwing their lives down the toilet, and then seeing a lot of less fortunate people lossing sleep over it and crying.

Lance

Ahem Lance, Ahem.

Wow.

Methinks some discretion would be in order for Mr. Evers, since the final verdict isn't out yet on the cause of death.

But kudos to him for putting his balls to the wall. This probably won't win him any friends, but at least he's being honest about it.

He just earned a little more respect from me, not that I count for anything.

Lance is in the 5% minority that are the true good guys in wrestling.

I agree with him. Sure I'm sorry that she died, but I'm not going to cry over it. I did shed a tear for Owen though.

I said the same thing and got flamed for it. I guess you can say more as long as you have the workrate to back it up.

Owen didn't die from drugs though. He died because of someone else's stupidity.

Just as his wrestling skills, Lance's comments are overrated.

Which is why it's easier to feel sorry for him and his family

Lance has the workrate to back it up?

You don't think Storm has a good workrate? All because he's not as aggressive as a Beniot or Regal, that doesn't mean he's lazy.

I think Eyebrow meant that because Lance has cred as a wrestler, his opinion bears more weight than that of anybody on a message board.

Well, I'd say there's a big difference between someone dying from OD'ing on drugs and someone being killed by faulty equipment when performing.

Of course, I bet if HHH said the same thing, the reaction would be decidedly different.

If Triple Ape criticized someone else for using drugs when he himself is bloated up on roids, it would be hypocritical.

Its still sad for Liz being death, but Storm is absolutely correct.....

When people like Liz or Hennig dies from result of a Drug addiction or ODing, it maybe sad but you'd also get a little pissed as a fan.

if you grow up with watching these people, you think they are responsible with themselves but find them drugged out. Which Im sure is commonplace on the wrestling road. But still what makes it common doesn't make it right.

I tend to agree that if the people are screwing up their own lives, eventhough it's tragic, it's their own fault that the tragedy occured.

It's not a good thing, but she sort of did it to herself.

Storm's right. i feel bad Liz, Hennig, Bulldog, etc have died, but they did bring it on themselves. my only issue regarding said deaths is, as i'm sure it is with many of you, that i grew up with these people, & there's a bond from seeing them all your life that it does hurt when they pass. but Storm is correct, & it did take balls to say that in an open forum with the way a lot of fans react.

& Storm CAN work, but my feeling is he needs more than 3 minute matches to get into his groove. the only thing i fault him for is his boring as fuck promos.

He also needs to get some more impressive looking offense and LEARN TO THROW A BETTER PUNCH!

well YES, his chairshots make Hogan look like The Rock, & he has a few...other issues. but remain optimistic! if he's allowed to wrestle as opposed to...um...entertain, he's great. i find him overrated myself, but i do think he's an OK worker. maybe it's just months of him carrying Regal getting the way of judgement. i dunno. but he's ok, just not like interesting. give me a Jerry Lynn any day

Storm has a valid point, but it probably could've been put across a little less.. bluntly. There's still family and friends of Miss Liz to consider. He'll probably get some backlash for being so realistic about it though.

It is sad, but she did it to herself if it was indeed a drug-related incident.

Depressing that all these wrestlers from my childhood keep dying. *sigh*

Ummmm no.... go back and read what you wrote. You got flamed for saying that she wasn't that big of a deal, and that she didn't contribute to anything of note

We should actually wait for concrete proof that she did die from a drug overdose. Whenever someone drops dead, we shouldn't all think its a drug overdose ala Brian Pillman.

Fucking smarks, heartless in their self-proclaimed brilliance.

I totally agree with Storm. I really have no compassion for people who OD. They pretty much make their own choices.

And I'm a huge Lance Storm mark. Check back to his WCW days. When given time and even a decent push (for a while it seemed he was going to get a HHH God push) he can be a damn gooed wrestler. His promos while boring show he does have charisma, just not Jericho or Rock charisma. He has a quiet charisma that is really hard to descirbe

Pillman's death wasn't a drug overdose, but it was drug related, so either way... he died because of his drug habbit

Heart Disease.

Its easy to say it is from cocaine, but many die from that without cocaine. If one checks their negative attitude at the door, they could see that drugs aren't the cause of every wrestling death. Bill Albright, how did he die? Heart attack? Musta been drugs!
