Guest kingkamala Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 What is the weirdest concert bill you've seen or heard of? Jimi Hendrix/The Monkees Motley Crue/ Megadeth/Anthrax Cheap Trick/ Guided by Voices Ted Nugent/Journey(Maybe that one is just me but that seems like a weird bill) KISS/The Smashing Pumpkins
Guest mesepher Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Metallica never ceases to have a bill that makes you think "what the hell???" Robert Randolph and the Family Band opening for John Mayer - that is one where you leave after the opener... and why are they opening for that wuss? Counting Crows and the WHO Jimi Hendrix/The Monkees those types of bills where very common back in the 60s though, they just seem odd now.
Guest razazteca Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Snoop Dog is on tour with some rock band
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Inheritance/34 Spoons ...I think I need to explain a wee bit... 34 Spoons are some uber-shitty local emo band from MA. Inheritance is death metal band (whose members I'm friends with). They're playing on the same night at the same show. You best believe emo kids will cry.
Guest razazteca Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 I think the Beastie Boys opened up for Madonna once.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Hendrix toured with the Monkees because Mickey Dolenz heard him play in a club over in England and called up Nesmith who came over and they both totally loved him. However, the Monkees fanbase didn't and Hendrix got pissed off and left after a handful of shows. A friend's mother actually saw them together down in Florida.
Zetterberg is God Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Godsmack/Econoline Crush/Kardinal Offishall. Although Econoline Crush is a rock band, they certainly did not fit the bill. And then to top it, they put Kardinal, who is a Canadian rapper. Needless to say he got his ass booed of the stage. He threw some shirts into the crowd and they were promptly thrown back at him.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Judas Priest/Bon Jovi Van Halen/Sammy Hagar (Yes this did happen sometime in the '70's) David Lee Roth/anyone
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Someone told me Def Leppard will be opening for Sum 41 this summer. Is that true?
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 For some reason AC/DC always opens for the Rolling Stones.
Paul Stanley Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Someone told me Def Leppard will be opening for Sum 41 this summer. Is that true? Hell No. Def Leppard could kick the crap out of Sum 41's pop ass.
Guest swan Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Someone told me Def Leppard will be opening for Sum 41 this summer. Is that true? Considering Def Leppard is doing a headline arena tour w/ opener TBA I'd doubt it.
Guest redbaron51 Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 both of them are pop acts. One of them washed up though. Metallica opening for Phil Collins
Guest swan Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Cheap Trick/ Guided by Voices I was there at the tour opener and it works. They have more in common then most people think. If it didn't work CT wouldn't continue to take them out on the road.
Guest mesepher Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 Someone told me Def Leppard will be opening for Sum 41 this summer. Is that true? yeah... the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Pittsburgh, ugh. what a shitfest.
Guest kingkamala Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 Oh I forgot one that I was actually at. At a Weird Al Yankovic concert on Halloween Night 99, his opener was some shitty female folk singer. Luckily Weird Al came on 10 minutes later and kicked thrity two different kinds of ass.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 Faith No More opening for Guns N' Roses/Metallica The irony is that both bands used to open for Faith No More
