Guest SweetNSexyDiva Report post Posted May 8, 2003 Have you seen it? Wow, she looked great! I have never seen her show so much skin! She had a make-over!
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted May 8, 2003 got any links to any pics? She was showing skin, like how, bare midriff, lowcut top?
Guest SweetNSexyDiva Report post Posted May 8, 2003 You can see the video HERE. Well, a lot of skin considering it's Jewel. Lots of cleavage, little short skirts... it is just plain sexy.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2003 Man, that is a SWANK video. I've never seen Jewel look so good. Too bad the song blows hard.
Guest SweetNSexyDiva Report post Posted May 8, 2003 I didn't like the song much either. What happened to her guitar? lol... I think she is trying to make her music totally different this time around.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted May 8, 2003 That was ridiculous. I kinda want to say it's parody--the video certainly swings that way--but the music isn't parody. It's the real Christina Britney thing. Of course, it's Jewel. No big loss to the music world.
Guest EricMM Report post Posted May 8, 2003 Funny story, I downloaded the video, and the sound wouldn't work on my computer. So I thought, hey, this has got to be a joke. I mean, this has GOT to be a joke. Then I downloaded the song. Whatever. If this is what she sounds like now, another one bites the dust...
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 8, 2003 I'll wait until VH1! stops showing that 80s show and wait for the video to pop up before I download it. So what are you telling me that Jewel has changed her sound to dance pop? I thought she was a tree hugging hippie singer/song writer folk chick.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 9, 2003 She looked good (as usual), but looked like she was trying way to hard to keep up with today's female acts. Just go back to what you do best and write some sad songs
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Was it just me, or did Jewel remind anyone else of Jenna Jameson's cover for her flick "Firestorm?" Not that I'm into that kind of stuff, I just saw it on Stern.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Definitely a semi-parody video. But what was up with the "Big Pimpin'" sign on the LED board in the first chorus?
Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted May 11, 2003 Definitely a semi-parody video. But what was up with the "Big Pimpin'" sign on the LED board in the first chorus? When I saw that, I just died laughing! Why the hell would she put that there? (Big Pimpin').
Guest Doyo Report post Posted May 11, 2003 I think it is almost like she is saying "I can do this pop dance crap thing better than any of you even if it is not really me." And she probably would like to have a few more million in the bank before everyone forgets about her.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 11, 2003 I love that video. The song- eh
Guest Cavi Report post Posted May 11, 2003 I saw her on ET talking about the video, saying how it was a parody and all that. But like Edwin said up above, the music isn't, so I think that's pretty stupid. I'm all up for some cheesy pop music, but I do not care for this song. Guest DrTom Report post Posted May 11, 2003 Jewel has never been hard on the eyes, so it's good to see her make a video like this. I've never liked her music (or her godawful "poetry"), so this song was no different. She needs to keep making this kind of video, though. Turning the sound down is really easy to do. Guest JHawk Report post Posted May 11, 2003 It's what I call the Shania Twain Syndrome... I love to watch her shake her thing, but for the love of god do Playboy or porn and shut the hell up! Jewel does look quite zesty in that video though.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Video would be better if the song wasn't so dull
Guest DrTom Report post Posted May 12, 2003 There was a song playing?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I don't have any music video channels or a decent internet connection, so the chances of me seeing this are nil. But I just want to say to those of you lamenting the loss of Jewel's credibility that she's never written a song that was worth half a fuck and that the only reason that anyone ever paid any attention to her was due to the fact that she's an attractive female who isn't afraid to peddle rubbish to the masses. So the line separating her from the Britneys of the world was never all that wide to begin with. T-Boz released a book of poetry, too. It ain't that hard when you're a multiplantium selling recording artist with a sweet rack.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 There was a song playing? JACKPOT! I thought the same thing.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 21, 2003 Just saw the video, and I like it, I notice that the song is between Madonna in her club phase and Country pop trying to be sexy. It does look to be a parody too bad nobody is buying it.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted May 22, 2003 I used to like Jewel. Now . . . bah.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted May 22, 2003 Just ignore the music, SP. It's really easy to like her then, especially when she makes videos like this. FWIW, I think the video was a parody, but I'm not going to bother listening to her new CD to determine if this kind of music is some form of new direction for her. As long as she makes more videos like this, I couldn't care less.
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted May 23, 2003 I just like the quote from a viewer I saw on bottom of the screen on MTV I think it was where it says "I like Jewel's music so much more now that she's dancing around" or something like that. What does it have to do with the music at all?

Guest Downhome Report post Posted May 23, 2003 I am the biggest Jewel fan that you will ever meet. For years, since her debut, I have hailed her as my personal favorite vocalist of all time, and just overall fucking loved her music, and I always will. Even if she has "sold out" to mainstream, she'll always be a guilty pleasure of mine at least. From what I hear however, this is NOT just some sort of parody video. I have both read, and heard her in various interview since this has come out that it's much more than that. She has stated that she wants to just try new things, go for a larger audiance, and just overall wants to finally go all out with everything she does. The video may seem to be a parody of the pop industry, but at the root of it all it's what Jewel wants to become for now at least. Which fucking ills me, seeing how I've had so much respect for her for years. I truly never thought she'd be the sort to go in this direction, but whatever. At least I finally can see her as I've seen her in my mind for so many years. Bwahahahahahahahaha~! Just to take this new "image" of hers a step further, just check out the songs on her new album... 1) Stand 2) Run 2 U 3) Intuition 4) Leave The Lights On 5) 2 Find U 6) Fragile Heart 7) Doin' Fine 8) 2 Become 1 9) Haunted 10) Sweet Temptation 11) Yes U Can 12) U & Me = Love 13) America 14) Becoming ...her entire album must be an f'n parody if that one song is then. Just how the titles of these songs are typed out ills me, as it's almost like she's trying to be NOW, what she wasn't when she was a teenager or something. I hope this is just a huge trick she's playing, and is just an overall parody of the pop industry, but from what I've heard her say and others as well, it's what she really wants to do, in order to become much larger. Fuck it either way though, because she's still (for now at least) my "idel" woman in every way.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Hm...look at those song titles....thats so blatant that it couldn't have been anything but intentional. The video seems like a huge parody of everything pop culture. Maybe the album is as well, never was a fan of her music but she did seem to have standards. Maybe she really is just going full out with the parody. or maybe she wants a lot of money, who knows? In any case, I shall ask for all those who suffer from 56k and is incapable of DL such things....Where are the pictures from this video?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Unfortunately. What is wrong with Jewel having some fun with her image and being a little cheeky in her latest video? It's her body- let her do what she wants. It's not like she' s getting naked and getting rammed up the end- it's PG-13 stuff
