Does hhh plan on being champion forever?

I don't know if this has been covered in another thread, but...What happens to the Men's and Women's champions once they lose their titles?  I mean if they go undrafted on Monday then which showdo they work on when they lose their title?  Or as my topic heading asks:  Will they avoid this question by never switching the titles.

Posted

Well they asked Jazz last night about which side she wants to get drafted to, so I'm guessing they'll draft both of them so they have a side to be on once they lose the title.

If Vince lets him get his way.

I think he'll be champ for at least the next 6 months. There's no one they'd let him lose it to. I hope Benoit comes back as a heel and kicks his ass, but I don't see it happening.

I think they will be undrafted and do a free agent thing. They will build to his decisino as a big deal but no one will give a shit. Who is Ben Hollohake anyway Mystery? A freind of yours?

I could easily see Benoit and HHH getting a program together. The thing would be to give Benoit the same hype over his return that HHH got. If they do that, Benoit may end up being more over than when he left. Plus Benoit was out rehabbing the same time as HHH, so I could see them having formed a relationship based on being both on the mend.

I'll tell you what, when Benoit comes back, there's not going to be any "Beautiful Day" or 105 hours of hype...He'll probably get a blurb on Metal saying that he's returning in a week...

Or just make it a surprise. I'd like to see him come in and give the Crossface to Nash or Hall, as I hate them so.

I think they should turn HHH heel (nWo) and put him in a long feud with the Rock. 2000 was one of the WWF's best years ever, largely because of the awesome Rock-HHH feud. I think both guys bring out the best in each other and it would be a killer feud with great heat and great matches.

Benoit ought to have a surprise return.  No one will buy a big hype-up for him, and having him run in and lay 10 German suplexes on someone in the middle of a main event match and then slap on the Crossface will remind the fans of why they were liking him so much before he left a year ago.

It's a pretty easy plan, too.  If whichever 'extension' he ends up in needs a heel, he can run-in and do that to a big face and adopt the Crippler style "I am the best damn technical wrestler, whine whine whine" character.  Need a face?  Have him run-in on a big heel, and adopt a Bret Hart actions-speak-louder-than-words character.

Of course, they'll probably have him run-in on a tag between Crash/Funaki and the Hardy Boyz, meaning no one will care about him, but that's the breaks.

As for the champs: well, who knows.  I can't see them having an effective split if there's only one world belt for 60 active wrestlers.  It'd kinda defeat the point of the split, since there'd be countless crossovers anyway.

Well if there is only one champion and they are on both shows, than where do the crossovers come in?  The only question I have is in PPVs.  How can someone from Raw and SD challenge for the same belt?

Remember last time he had the title, he didn't even job it, it was the six-man where Rock pinned Vinny Mac for the belt

He's lost the Euro, I-C and World titles all once without having to actually job

He was a very talented English cricket player who died in a car crash this weekend aged 24. Kinda shook me up.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how they do Benoit's return. I hope he gets some kind of build up and push. I think he could be an ideal feud for HHH, as he would be able to cover up HHH's current in ring deficiencies.

He'll hold it until someone realizes that Hogan and Rock are the ones drawing the ratings...

So when they don't draw anymore...the free ride is over.

Oh...and as far as Benoit goes...

I'd like to see him come back to no fanfare...and then turn on HHH because he got so much and couldn't even deliver.

Ahh...to dream

Yeah, but he did kinda legitamize it by jobbing to the Rock at Summerslam that year...

Uhhh, yes.  That's the only way the fans will still slightly care about him.  Hunter has been pushed 10x harder than anyone else for over 3 years now.. and if that ever stops, H is dead.

Also, HHH is fucking Stephanie because he LOVES  her very very much.

The problem is is that big hyped returns always seem to fall flat. Benoit wasn't near HHH's level on the card which, as much as I like Benoit, shouldn't get him as hyped of a return. Benoit needs to come back to no fanfare and just be a silent killer if he's a heel.

IMHO, there should be at least a MENTION of some people's impending returns on TV.  If someone isn't Austin, HHH, or The Rock, they're only brought in as a surprise (this even applies to Taker, although HE was a surprise in the main event of a PPV in mid-2000).

Benoit hasn't been mentioned on WWF TV, AFAIK, since the Heat where he showed up at WWF NY.  The WWF just glosses over him when they're showing footage of HHH blowing out his quad.

Benoit should come out and give 10 Germans to HHH, put the Crossface on Stephanie, and give the diving headbutt to the ref. Have HHH lose the title to Jericho and then have Benoit and Jericho feud over the title.

Well, he's had two Excess appearances everytime something major happens with him. Once following surgery and once prior to stepping in a ring. I think they're learning that too much exposure usually doesn't do them any good, because the only place to go really is down.

The thing that annoyed me most about HHH's return is the way it was overhyped repeatedly as the second coming.  Austin or Rock, much bigger stars, never got that kind of airtime.  It seemed to me as though it was being done for HHH's egos sake.  As for Benoit, he won't get much attention for his return because he's not sleeping with the right people.

How did this thread become about Benoit anyway?

They saw Rock's steam fall after a week so they wanted to get more people watching. They also realized it being as close as it was to WrestleMania that Triple H was going to need some momentum, even though they poorly followed up on any of the hype and momentum it should have created.

Silly person, this is the SmarkBoard. All things lead to Benoit!  ;)

Anyway, the logical thing to do with the champ that loses is to take the spot of the person that beat him/her. Say Jericho (who is in, say, Vince's camp) beats HHH. HHH would end up on Smackdown, which would be for the best since it's more SE-oriented (supposedly).

That's assuming, of course, that the Fed is run with logic in mind. Which it isn't. So in that sense, yes, HHH will be champ forever and ever. HunterMania will run wild for years to come. He said so himself. And besides, what else would you do with a guy that's so INTENSE~?

;)
