Bad Hair Day- A-Songs: Amish Paridise, Gump, Phony Calls, Cavity Search(Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me). B-Songs: The Night Santa Went Crazy. (The others are so unremarkable that I can't remember anything about them)

Everything You Know is Wrong is GOLD!

What the hell is Mathers holding in his hands? And what's with that expression? It almost looks like he's imitating Moby, somewhat ironic.

That's Al as Eminem, staring at a TV.

Hence, "Couch Potato."

Holy shit! I thought that was Mathers... that's eerie. I can't find any semblance of the "old" Weird Al at all. Shoot, now I would've been interested in the video too.

Really? Wow, I was able to tell it was him almost as soon as I saw it.

Around his eyes and chin will always give Al away, unless he has heavy makeup on.

He should make the video anyways. Amish Paradise and It's All About the Pentiums are reasons alone why the video should be made

 @ All About the Pentiums video where tough gangstas and clubbers are replaced by complete computer nerds.

Eminem would probably let it be done if it were another song. Lose yourself is a pure hip-hop track that was made to garner respect for the genre(and has for the most part). If it were a parody of Real Slim Shady, or My Name is (songs he admits he doesn't even like to much) I'm sure he would go for it.

And since everyone is on this "Can dish it out but can't take it" Can someone name a beef that he has that he STARTED...well... anyone.

Didn't he start all that nonsense with Moby?

What about the incident with Triumph?

And what difference does it make if the song was done "to garner respect for the genre?" As I stated before Al's parodies are always done in good fun and are never malicious. Since when is Eminem the patron saint for hip-hop anyway?

Not really. Moby said he didn't like what Eminem wrote about, but it was really Eminem who made a big deal out of it, and in the long run, Eminem looks like a jerk and a loudmouth while Moby takes everything Em says calmly and even jokes about it.

No..Moby said that Eminem should censor himself since his music is meant for 12 year old boys. The quote was somewhere along the lines of:

"He has to right to say what he wants, and I'll defend that to death, but when your music is marketed to 12 year olds, and lets face it, that's who's buying Eminem albums, you have to be careful of what you say."

That's not exact but damn close. How the hell he acts like that wasn't a insult, I don't know.

And if he feels deeply enough for this songs that he doesn't want it parodied, then exactly how can you call him a pussy for it.

And that whole can dish it but not take it thing, Al doesn't insult the person he parodies, it is just a play off the original lyrics which Em aparently feels enough about that he doesn't want it copied.

Basically just people looking for a reason to run the guy down.

Let's return to this thread in 5 years and see who's still around -- Al or MM.

Coolio had a problem with Al's "Amish Paradise" a few years back -- come on rappers, lighten up...

Again, Rap is Crap!

Well "eminem" says stupid shit you'd expect from a 12 year old...so truth hurts?

And since when is talking about how someone markets a album an insult?

So just because "eminem" has a thin skin and takes someone talking about how he markets himself as a personal attack it's ok for him to act like a total jackass?

But he did allow Al to parody the song.

So I guess he's just a self conscious jackass who doesn't want to look bad to his MTV fans. He is a pussy if he's so concerned about a parody video.

How is telling a hip-hop artist that his music is only being listend to by children...hell, tell any artist that who isn't a teen act and they will be insulted. But if Eminem is insulted he it HAS to be because he is thin skinned.

Nobody told Moby to jump in frount of a camera and say a word about Eminem...once he did that, Marshall has every given right to say something back to him.

Why do I have the feeling that id this was anyone but Eminem it wouldn't be a issue. Hell, Metalica felt so deeply for their music, they started sueing fans that dared to download there songs..(costing the band a cool $00.12... about 3 cent a member) but I see plenty of ball licking for their ICON show. So Eminem doesn't want his video parodied...He has the right. Get over it.

Wasn't this around the period when everyone was talking about Eminem and his controversial Album (can't remember, hell don't care which one it is) being nominated for a shitload of Grammys?

Is what Moby said anything but the truth? Nope. Em knows it, he doesn't like it. He knows that it takes away from his credibility. His reactions are what get him hate around here. He's so fucking defensive, it makes him look like a spoiled 8 year old.

Off The Deep End- A-Songs: Smells Like Nirvana, I Can't Watch This, The White Stuff, Taco Grande. B-Songs: Trigger Happy, I Was Only Kidding, When I Was Your Age, You Don't Love Me Anymore

I've actually seen a video for "You Don't Love Me Anymore" (it was on one of his "AlMusic" specials that seem to occur whenever he's got a new album on MuchMusic). IIRC they spoof Extreme's "More Than Words" video.

One of my favourite Al "B-songs" is "Airline Amy". "I wanna get you in an upright locked position" is a great line for some reason.

Anyways, I don't see what the big deal is. Al asked Eminem to do the video (even though he didn't have to), Eminem said no, and Al said "ok". Why make it seem like more than it is?

A friend of mine from college got Weird Al to propose to his fiancée for him.

She said yes.

To my friend, not Weird Al.

As for the topic at hand, Eminem needs to lighten up. If he's that worried about his image being tainted by a video parody of him, to the point that it may cost him record sales or credibility, he needs to reconsider just what it is that makes him so special; his talent, or the marketing machine behind him.

Eminem isn't a fool. He is a guy that keeps the hip-hop heads happy because he is really talented, has deep lyrics and has clever wordplay. He also know that he has a large fanbase that see him as a comedy act and looking forward to his next "I can't believe he said that" vibe. After listening to his last album, he is clearly trying to slowly get away from the "comedy rap" tag he is (unfairly and incorrectly) tagged with.

It would be different if the reports said that Al called and said "Hey Em, I was wondering if I could parody your video" and Em was all "Hell naw bitch, I'm Em in Mutha fuckin EM.. I am da MANNN...you will NOT PARODY THE MANNNNN!!!!" then I say roast him for being a dick. The convo probably was something like Em saying he would apprecitate if he wasn't and Al said Ok. Mountains out of mole hills people.

The funny thing is that when Shady's new album comes out (whenever that may be), there's going to be like 20 Weird Al disses...

That would be nifty.

Werid Al sucks anyways.

His parodies are a little gay sometimes, but I'm sure he'd admit to that (but with another word). He has a goodhearted warmth about everything he does and seems really friendly, which is probably part of his appeal of to most people. Plus people die in some of his videos, which is usually funny.

The funny thing is that when Shady's new album comes out (whenever that may be), there's going to be like 20 Weird Al disses...

Why would he do that? I mean, he gave Weird Al permission to do a parody. That would make no sense to do that...

Um, I just said it would be nifty. That's all the sense you need. Read my post more carefully next time, n00b.

I honestly think people just look for reasons to trash Eminem.

That's what this whole thread is about.

It's really more about linking this to any preexisting reasons you hate Eminem and then relate them to everyone. And to test-run some of our new insults. And to test-drive the application of the insults we recently stole from TV or movies to real life/real-life insulting/kind of fake-life insulting since its on a computer where everyone you're talking to might be a machine.

What I don't understand is why Al even bothers asking for permission?  He DOESN'T HAVE TO ASK  for permission.  Parodies are protected under law.  The video would be protected in the same way the song will be protected.  Al is just TOO nice a guy.

Eminem dissing you 20 times on his next album because you've taken advantage of obscure legal loopholes in our criminal justice system is only nifty when that you isn't you-you. And if that you-you isn't builded skilled at dealing the dozens to the sweet funk of a beat.

In the "Weird" Al Behind the Music, it is explained that through some sort of mix-up Al thought Coolio gave his permission for Amish Paradise.  As it turned out Coolio never did.

I believe that miscommunication happened when Coolio said no, and Al said he was cool with that, but he still really wanted to do the video. He was pretty regretful of his mistake in asking prior permission from highly temperamental Coolio.

Coolio tried to have his lawyers stop it, but they couldn't, because as stated above parodies are protected under law.

He should've shot him LOLOLOLOL

But when Al wants to rib him in good fun (Anybody that knows "Weird" Al knows that he is NEVER malicious) he gets all pissy.

He wouldn't even necessarily be ribbing Eminem at all, and if he did -- as he probably would've in the video -- that wouldn't be the main focus.

And not malicious? The Amish people were pretty upset when they saw the "Paradise" video, but they couldn't let any of us white devils know about it. HAHAHAHAHA ... thatwassobad.

What a whiney little hypocrite bitch.

I bet he makes all of that shit up about his mom, too. It's probably an actor.

I just got sent an advanced copy of the album, and it's not bad.

There's a VERY funny feature on the CD that is Weird Al's Home Movies with him doing the voices on them. He even does the screaming, "FOR ALL YOU JERKS WHO DIDN'T DOWNLOAD IT!" thing that was good.

Haven't listened to the whole thing, though. Be back with a full opinion.

I love Dre to death but if there's one thing I will hate him for it's for making Eminem and 50 Cent big.

What Eminem is doing is smart actually. He knows all his sheep love everything he does. If they start to see someone make fun of Eminem on a large scale they'll start to question how great Em is, especially moreso if it's funny and true. Personally I don't see how anyone can like a guy who has no respect for his mom at all.

He mother treated and continues to treat him like shit...His whole point is that she wasn't a mother to him so why should he respect her.

I like how everyone says that "In 5 years when you are nobody" line about Eminem. Guess what...we are on year 6 of him being a respected hip-hop artist (year 5 for all of you who had never heard of him before MTV started pushing him). He is too damn good to go anywhere. Get over it.

Rock stars constantly show they are 10,000 times the pricks that most hip-hop artist display yet they are "kewl" while hip-hop guys are dick heads and such...whatever.
