The following is from 1wrestling...

"The WWF as we know it will change this week when the brand extension takes place and the WWF morphs into two different promotions within a promotion. From what I have heard from two sources, a new WWF logo is scheduled to debut when the brands extend. Sources tell me the new logo is scheduled to debut sometime in the next week, with it becoming the identifiable trademark for the WWF from April, going forward. One source told me it will be a "dynamic new look to identify the WWFE brand"."

...eh, I just thought some of you guys might be interested in this.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

For some reason I am very excited about this. If you count Vince's dad's comapny this will be only the fifth logo ever I believe.

That would be another nail in the coffin for the "Attitude" era (Which is pretty much replaced with "WWF Desire"). Once Austin leaves/retires then the "Attitude" era is dead. I wonder what the new logo will look like.

Awesome, I hope it's more like the older logo. This kicks ass!

I wouldnt want to see the old log back...its too outdated. I have no doubt the one they come up with will be cool though, since I liked the WCW ones they came up with.

10 to 1 odds it says "WWFE" not "WWF".  Because they lost that lawsuit filed by the World Wildlife Fund over use of the initials WWF.

If they do add the E in WWF, then it would probably look like the old school WWF logo.

Well the old 80's logo looks alot like the Wildlife logo so don't count on it returning.

Yeah, I was going to say I wonder how much a new logo has to do with the lawsuit as to do with the split.

I never really liked the attitude logo anyway. Don't know why. :)

I think they can legally use the WWF logo without any problems from the Wildlife fund, since in all of their magazines, the logo has replaced the letters "WWF".  They used to get around that, too, by saying, "the Federation".  A "WWFE" logo, in my opinion, would be pretty stupid, mostly because someone being a "WWFE Champion" sounds moronic.

That's why when the WWF has a title match it's always for the World Wrestling Federation Championship. They can still say the World Wrestling Federation. It's just their logo that might be WWFE. The logo could end up being the letters "WWF".

Yeah, WWFE as a logo wouldn't work. I don't know why the World Wildlife Fund had to do the lawsuit anyway, it's not like anyone is going to get confused between the two.

I believe the lawsuit said they can't use WWF in website address or in a way that earns money from the letters. And a WWF tv logo doesn't actually earn money so there should be no reason that they can't keep it.

Because both sides had an agreement and Vince somehow broke it. I never researched it so i'm not sure how he broke it.

Yeah, I would have guessed it was Vince's fault :)

Still, it's not like anyone is going to mistake an organisation that pays to look after big hairy apes will be mistake for one that employs the Big Show.

Er....

I belive the World Wildlife Fund got mad when Vince started using the letters "WWF" overseas, and when the WWF (Wrestling) logo started appearing everywhere ie. shirts, cups, caps, etc.

Yes.

They can use WWF in the States all they want too (and I assume Canada too)

But overseas they are being forced to stop.

WWFE as a logo would suck. I'm hoping that they get to keep WWF, how weird would it be to refer to it as anything else?

Does that mean that we're going to get new belts again?  The last time they changed logo's, we got the new belts with the logo on the top.

the logos have never said "WWF" they're just one W like "WF"

Actually the belts have the WWF logo on it. So I assume once they get the new logo, they'll replace the old "Attitude" WWF logo with the new one. The belts will stay the same though.

What is this "WWF Desire" everyone talks about? I see it on the Creed music packages, but is it really an era? I think the new logo will obviously incorporate WWF's edgy product. It will also pay a homeage to the past while shinning a guiding light for the future. It will be a milestone for the WWFE.

"WWF Desire' is the current Slogan for the company and it's a credible one. The logo change is a good thing and It will roll the company into a new Direction, unless they go the WCW route and flub the new logo. A old school style is not out of the question and because you can always stick the "E" at the bottom where it's hardly noticable.

Why is the World Wildlife Fund getting pissed about the WWF using the name overseas?  There being assholes. No one confuses the two.

It's obvious that this is just an excuse to change the name to the World Sports Entertainment Federation, like Vince has always wanted to do.

If Vince is as vindictive as people think, he'll probably incorporate a severed panda head into the new logo...

Which adds more fuel to my beleifs that Flair/Cornette/Heyman are silently muliplating younger stars to join their new federation in two years...They want old school back.

If Heyman and Cornette didn't hate each other guts with a passion, I'd say you were on to something.
