Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Mine were back around 1990... I got Jake the Snake Roberts and Ax from Demolition. Yours?
Guest Choken One Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 My Father brought me a HUGE amount of these when I was young... I have alot still at his house...I counted about 75 of them... The first one? Likely Hogan.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 My Father brought me a HUGE amount of these when I was young... Same here. I've got atleast 30 or 40 old WWF figures. I remember my Andre the Giant is missing an arm and my Texas Tornado is missing his head. I also have the full set of NWA/WCW action figures including Sting, Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, Tom Zenk, the Steiner Brothers, Doom, Barry Windham, Ric Flair, Sid Vicious, and Arn Anderson.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 The big non flexible ones form them id-80's. I got Hogan, Savage & Nikolai Volkoff. Then I got Bret & IRS from the 1991-1992 series.
David Blazenwing Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 I got into wrestling in early 2002 and was really into Triple H, so he was my first action figure.
Guest El Gigante Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 The Rockers tag team pack and The Mountie.
Guest Damn You Helmsley Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Undertaker. I have the same one three times for some reason.
Guest papacita Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 For the big rubber ones, I got Hogan, JYD, Hillbilly Jim and Nikolai Volkoff for Christmas when I was 3. For the smaller ones, it was Roddy Piper and Ted Dibiase.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 The Rockers with those push down things in the back so they "jump" up
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 My first ones were the big bulky non moving Greg Valentine and Ricky Steamboat. I have those two and something like 80 different ones .
Guest nWoScorpion Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Mine was Demolition Ax. Jake Roberts came second. LOL
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 I guess it'd be the first LJN Hulk Hogan, although that just came in a big bag full of toys that my cousins didn't want anymore and I wasn't even into wrestling at the time. The first one I got after I started getting into wrestling? The Hasbro version of Hulk Hogan. I recall my brother getting the Big Bossman shortly there after so we could have "matches." I ended up getting pretty much that whole first series of Hasbro figures within the next few months, although Andre the Giant eluded me until three years later. For various reasons, Andre was kept out of my grasp the five or six times I had a chance to get him. The last time I saw him in a store was in a Toys 'R' Us and I passed it up to get a fuckin' glow in the dark Swamp Thing. Man, buyer's remorse defined, right there. I would later get my first "real" LJN figure in 1992 when I bought Adrian Adonis in the clearance aisle at Toys 'R' Us after finding no new Hasbro figures. The LJN's would end up being my favorites.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 I remember some off-brand Hulk Hogan rubber figure with articulation (so it wasn't LJN unless they did this specially) a friend of my mom's got me when I was very young. Hulk is wearing the ultra rare white tights. Then I got Jake Roberts and Brutus Beefcake for my birthday a few years later.
Guest Stunt Granny Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Mine was Vader. I don't know why, I guess I just thought he was the coolest looking.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 My first LJN's were Hogan, Studd and JYD. Hasbro's I can actually recall the order I got most of them in for some reason. I got Hogan and Savage along with the ring from a JC Penny catalog. Then I got Rude and Robert. Akeem and Warrior on the same day, Demoliton and Dibiase on the same day...so on and so on... I've got tons of figures. Of course working at Wrestling Superstore also helps my cause .
HurriShane Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 I got Jake the Snake Rocberts with Daiman and Ted Dibiase with the million dollar belt.
Guest JHawk Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 I think it was the old LJN Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat figures, although I had over 20 of those when it was all said and done. Why the hell I bought that old SD Jones figure I'll never know though.
Mecha Mummy Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Edge on steriods. Well, he wasn't actually on steroids but he looked like he was.
Guest kingkamala Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 My first three were Hasbro figures and they were Hulk Hogan,I'm ashamed to admit this....Jim Neidhart and the Mountie. I got them all at the same time at a K-Mart somewhere in Vermont(Yes I'm as surprised as you are that they have K-Marts in Vermont)
Guest The Notorious CRD Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 The Ultimate Warrior... with press-slamming action! Yeah.
Guest Jack Tunney Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 Brutus Beefcake and Demolition Smash sometime in 1990. Over the years I got a whole bunch, still have 'em too.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 HBK. I opened it up, and his leg promptly fell off.
Guest bravesfan Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 A Hasbro of Hogan (the yellow tights, with the "Hulk Rules" shirt) For WCW, it was a Sting AND Ron Simmons figure. In cause you forgot, their figures were stiff as fuck (no "action" move like the WWF figures). BUT... possibly to make up for the figures, the WCW ring sold in stores was awe-inspiring. Not only did it have a catapult outside of the ring, but it was accompanied by a red "steel" cage. (Not to mention, one of the turnbuckles had a "springboard" effect.)
Guest CED Ordonez Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 Ravishing Rick Rude and Ultimate Warrior. I always tried to put Warrior in a Rude Awakening, but that large push down thing on his back made it look awful. Good times.
TheFranchise Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 The Ultimate Warrior... with press-slamming action! Yeah. I HAVE THIS! ahem.
Guest The Superstar Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 Steve Austin, in late October 1998 for my birthday. And you want to know the first thing I said when I got it? "Oh! This should be worth money now that he's fired!" The days of being a mark.
Guest Hitman Jebus Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 I bought a WWF "King Of The Ring" ring with a Razor Ramon action figure (both Hasbro) in Summer 95 Shortly thereafter, I thought, "Hey, Razor needs an opponent!" and I found a Roddy Piper figure (in 95!!!!!)
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 Mine was Demolition Ax. Jake Roberts came second. LOL Weird that those were my first two, also...
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 The Ultimate Warrior... with press-slamming action! Yeah. I HAVE THIS! ahem. me too.... hes got some dried red paint on his face though, from when I made him blade when I was in like 1st grade
