Date: 10th May 2003

Your Hosts: Daniel Edler & James Walsh

Recap by: James Walsh

Ron ‘The Truth’ Killings

-- Ron was a wrestling fan back in the days of Dusty Rhodes and Magnum TA but he "grew out of it."

-- He grew out of it because he got more into music and started to meet rappers and started dancing for concerts and such.

-- He was 25. Jack Crockett took a liking to him and helped him get in. He wanted him to mix music and wrestling so he tried it and loved it.

-- Many Fernandez trained him.

-- He worked a lot of indies throughout New Jersey as well as North and South Carolina before he ended up in NWA Wildside.

-- He was the NWA Wildside TV champion and Rick Michaels, who now does a lot of the costume designs for wrestlers, persuaded him to send a tape in to the WWE. The Road Dog saw him work and persuaded them to bring him in.

-- He owns the name K-Krush. The WWE found that out and instantly decided they didn't want him to have ownership of his gimmick so they made him pick a new name. Road Dogg suggested K-Kwik and Ron immediately thought of Eddie Murphy from Harlem Knights and he said it was cool and went with it.

-- He says that the Hardcore Title run is in the books but he doesn't even count it as a real title because it was so quick and no build.

-- He lost respect for WWE creative after Road Dogg got fired because they couldn't find something for him to do.

-- He pitched ideas to creative. He was going to work with Scotty Too Hotty but that never came about. Guys like Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy went to bat for him by pitching ideas but they didn't go for any of them. He was put on the sidelines and then released.

-- He left the WWE on good terms with no heat.

-- Everything at WWE was great. He said it was a great experience. He would have liked to have wrestled Austin and The Rock.

-- Jeff Jarrett called him to come to TNA. He liked the idea because Vince had monopolized the business.

-- Jeff Jarrett came up with "The Truth." He didn't mind the name change because he feels that no matter if they call him K-Kwik, The Truth, or whatever else they come up with, he still falls back upon K-Krush.

-- A lot of the racial claims he made about the WWE during his initial "Truth" was the truth.

-- He feels a little unsure about all the newly released WWE guys coming to TNA and being put in the main event slot. He says that when TNA started, the guys that had immediate photo or name recognition would obviously be the ones to sell the show. He feels that he was built up in TNA along with a lot of other guys and when they are taken off the show for guys that are fresh from the WWE.

-- Vince Russo kayfabes the workers so much that they don't get told who they are working with until the night of the show.

-- He doesn't know what to say about losing the belt to Jarrett because he was under the impression that they would feud for longer than they did. He said they did have two great matches, though.

-- Back to the "surprises" with former WWE superstars. "You dance with who you came to the show with," he said. He says that the guys that worked hard from the start that just get faded out of the picture is like, in his words, "f*ck that."

-- He is very happy with TNA but he is trying to find a place to fit in the picture.

-- He wants to bring Nelson "Mabel" Knight back.

-- If the WWE came to his door, he'd consider it. He says it depends on money.

-- Music is a big part of his life. Invincible is his album and it's under the artist name K-Krush.

He's right about being leapfrogged by former WWE (or in this case ECW) guys that come in. Hopefully they'll get him back into a meaningful storyline.

I thought the tidbit about Russo kayfabing the workers really interesting.

And tell me he didnt just say he wants Mabel back

Uh...even Armstrong admits that he got fired because he had a drug problem, and did a match on Smackdown where he was so fucked up on something, they had to cut it from the broadcast. Between that and the Mabel idea...it sounds like Killing has some odd opinions, even though he still owns it as a worker.

He meant that WWE creative couldn't find anything for K-Kwik to do after Road Dogg's firing, not that they couldn't find anything for Road Dogg to do.

Maybe he and Mabel are friends so he'd say that even if he knew how much he sucked? Otherwise he needs to put down the crack.
