I always like this movie. I know it's a veeeeeeeeeeeeery loose telling of Lee's life, but I think it's cool that they made a film about Bruce Lee AS a Bruce Lee film.

You're right, it's a very, very, very, very, VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY loose telling of Bruce's life, and thus, is loathed by most Lee fans. There's not one true scene in that entire film.

 

It IS cool that they made it as a Bruce film, but they could have done so and stayed true while doing it. Plus, they could've put some good fight scenes in it, cast a martial artist for the lead... nah, sorry. Tried to be optimistic, but Dragon blows. I'm glad someone enjoys it, though.

Lee did marry some blonde white chick named Linda and had a couple kids, that part's true :-D

I liked the movie for what it was, and what it was was fun! Wasn't the scene were Lee gets a good kick in the back and is all paralyzed true?

The big demon guy was the film makers way of showing Lee's struggle with herione. That was his demon. Pretty good movie though.

I love it. One of my favorite movies. I don't see why people say it's so loose. Taking out the demon stuff, it's pretty accurate to all the Lee biographies I've ever read. It's a movie, if you want 100% accurate there are plenty of documentaries to watch.

Bruce got that from weight lifting.

Dragon is in the style of films like "The Big Boss, "Chinese Connectionm" etc.

 

In fact on the commentary track Rob Cohen states that he made a "film about Bruce Lee as a Bruce Lee movie"

I didn't know that. In the ads, they were pushing the movie as a true biography. Had people known that, I think a lot of the criticism for the film being too loose wouldn't have surfaced.

 

Is this why they didn't choose to cover his death in the movie as well? To show that Bruce, the hero, always goes out in glory in his films?
