The end of the troll mess

Alright, Becker banned the appropriate people for good via IP last night and this morning Mike came through for me and hooked up my super admin account so now I have the power to stop problems when they start rather than relaying through someone else. In the future, carry on the same procedure of sending me a message/email and the problem will be dealt with immediately. Thanks.

This is a much better situation than before, but it is still not ideal.  The problem, Jay, is that you have a life.  Because you have a life, you can't be here on troll duty 24/7.  That's why I think bps21 or someone else with a kazillion posts should be able to take care of the trolls.  They obviously have no life (no offense, because I don't have a life either) so they're always on the board, and can squash the trolls whenever they pop up.

Woohoo!  Let's celebrate!  I imagine things won't get this bad again.

Presumably, that HHH guy who kept posting stupid polls. And hopefully Professor Beljar or whatever he was called.

I agree with Yodeller, I think a more permanent monitor on the board would help. It could even be done democratically, with that monitor asking if we all thought a certain person should be banned or not.

bps and Tony would be the obvious choices, as they seem to have most posts and seem trustworthy :)

Out of curiosity, did the IP address of HAPPY HUNTER HAIRBALLZ (or whatever his name was) match the address of any other poster? Like was he really someone else?

If Jay isn't available, you can drop me a line as well if there's something that needs taking care of.  IM and email info is in my profile.

"I kinda came in on the end of this one, what happened?"

Friday might, I believe, the entire WWF board was bombarded by trolls who were posting nonsensical opsts and disrupting WWF conversations.

I disagree with letting a regular poster mod for the board. That's similar to letting the inmates run the asylum and when that happens... well just ask WCW!

the Hunter Hairyballz guy completely over ran the board for a while, starting stupid polls. I think he *must* have been banned now.

I agree with goodhelmet, we don't need any more mods. Cubano and Pegasus Kid are fine.

HHH had the same IP as the imposter "Anglesalt" and Professor whatever had the same IP as someone who's name I cant even recall that registered in January and only had like 5 posts total on the new board, but if you are asking if it was any long time poster who changed his identity the answer is no. I ran a IP history check and both posters were new to the board  Anyway, both of their IP's were banned.
