LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I just got a Gamecube for practically nothing. I traded in a couple of old systems and a lot of games at Game Crazy and had enough in store credit for a refurbished Gamecube. I only ended up paying $3.50 in difference after in store credit. So I didn't have enough for a game, but I got 12 free Gamecube game rentals with it. What games should I get? Besides the obvious ones like Metroid and Zelda. I rented Zelda, Capcom vs. SNK: EO, and WMX8 and liked all of them. Yeah I liked X8. I didn't think it was as bad as everyone said. I had fun with it. The Dames 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I just got a Gamecube last Sunday actually. Bundle package with Zelda: Wind Waker & Ocarina of Time. I've been playing Ocarina all this time and haven't touched Wind Waker yet. I want to get the Resident Evil games (even though 2 & 3 are direct ports with NO improved graphivs) and Def Jam Vendetta. That's it for now. Dames
Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Eternal Darkness, Super Monkey Ball, Mario Party 4.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Oh yeah I forgot about Def Jam Vendetta. I might get Resident Evil Zero. Is Mortal Kombat: DA good?
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Metriod Prime.
Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Yeah, MKDA is good, but I just can't picture using the Gamecube controller for a fighting game. Oh, and Animal Crossing. I don't know HOW the fuck I forgot that.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Eternal Darkness. The Res. Evil remake and zero are good also. Super Monkey Ball 2!!!!!!!!
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Yeah, MKDA is good, but I just can't picture using the Gamecube controller for a fighting game. Oh, and Animal Crossing. I don't know HOW the fuck I forgot that. I thought so too until I played Capcom vs. SNK. I loved using the controller. I used to never want to use the joystick on those controllers for fighting games, but I'm getting pretty good at it. I just like the way the Gamecube controller fits to my hand. All the buttons seem to be in good places.
Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Except Z. All game makers should boycott the Z button.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Just curious, what is the big deal with Animal Crossing? I've never played it, don't know ANYTHING about it. Dames
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I don't know the answer to that question. And I like the game.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Except Z. All game makers should boycott the Z button. Yeah I have to agree. That button is the only misplaced button. And Dames Animal Crossing is kind of like The Sims in a way, but your goals are more set forth and the game progresses even when you're not playing. Pretty much you play as these animals with human characteristics and do certain tasks and stuff and you trade things with other characters to get better things. I heard there were old school video games you can get and play in their entirety in the game. You get those through trading things you find and stuff. There are storylines I think that you progress through. I'm basing all this on stuff I've heard.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I find the controller to be a great fit when it comes to Zelda, but I haven't really played anything else with it yet. I still think the A button is too big. Dames
The Dames 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Oh, that reminds me... What's the big deal about The Sims? Haven't played that shit either. Dames
Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 No, no storylines. Just mindless wandering, fishing, digging, and running errands for people. Somehow, it's still fun
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 12, 2003 You should check out Super Smash Brothers Melee.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Oh yeah that's another one I wanna get. I've played that one before and liked it.
Guest Heel In Peril Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Resident Evil 1 and Super Smash Bros. Melee for starters. Both are superb. It may sound trivial, but the random sounds in RE1 such as clicking and cocking throughout the game are extremely friendly to the ear. I always appreciated that. The updates in the game are good and creepy. Vendetta is good, too.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Fire Pro Wrestling to the GameCube Bam Entertainment will publish versions of Spike's Fire Pro Wrestling and King of Colosseum in the US. OMG~!!!!! I just read that there will be a Fire Pro Wrestling game for the Gamecube!!! Details are sparce right now, but it is rumored!
Guest Sakura Report post Posted May 12, 2003 The system has some of the best one player adventurish games if you're into those. Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness are all awesome.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 My two favorite games from last year were on Gamecube. (Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness). It's a great system if you want real good games...but not if you want a lot of quantity.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Well, this is how I see it... The only thing I want Xbox for is Halo and I'm not about to spend all that money on 1 game. All of the games I want for PS2 with the exception of the GTA games are all out for Gamecube. The GTA games I'm going to get for the PC as well as Splinter Cell. GameCube has Mario, Zelda, Eternal Darkness, the RE games.... That's why I chose GameCube. Dames
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Madden 2003 on Gamecube...I actually enjoy it more than the PS2 version...The controller is just so well designed it feels more comfortable. NBA2k3...with all of its faults, is the overall best basketball game out there...NBA Street Vol. 2 is a GREAT game for the arcadey type street ball thing. I love DJV, and Resident Evil Zero also. I got my gamecube for 69.99...I am a cheap ass when it comes to video game systems...but I am VERY happy with the purchase.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I love Animal Crossing. I got the game back in Nov., and I'm still playing it today. It's very relaxing, but you pretty much need to play it almost every day. I usually try to get in about 30 min. every day, but you'll need to spend much more than that in the beginning to really get going.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Thing about Gamecube is the may not have the most games but the good game/games released ratio is very high. Nintendo always has a knack for fun games.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I wonder if WrestleMania XIX will be any good? I know it has the dumb storyline mode, but even that might be fun.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Medal of Honor: Frontline is fan-fucking-tastic. Best Shooter on the Gamecube...I like it more than Metroid
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 13, 2003 NBA2k3...with all of its faults, is the overall best basketball game out there...NBA Street Vol. 2 is a GREAT game for the arcadey type street ball thing. I agree. NBA 2K3 owns my balls.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 13, 2003 NBA2k3...with all of its faults, is the overall best basketball game out there...NBA Street Vol. 2 is a GREAT game for the arcadey type street ball thing. I agree. NBA 2K3 owns my balls. Yeah, except when it crashes. For $9.99 (I got NBA and NFL2k3 at TRU couple weeks back, but they are still only $14.99) its still a good deal. Sucks that SEGA won't support the Gamecube with Sports games any more. List of games to look into (*=less than $30 usually) SSB:M* - Only if you have more than one controller OR know 2 or 3 people with gamecubes. Eternal Darkness* - underated game, good bargain for the money now since you can usually find it for $30 or so. SSX-Tricky*-Awesome snowboarding game, although 1080:Avalanche will probably be better, as will SSX3, but you can still find it for under $30 most places. Metroid Prime - Im gonna go out on a limb and say that this is still the best game on the Cube. Granted Zelda is a good game, but its one fault is where MP shines: Tons of Gameplay. Took me over 30 hours to beat it (although some dude beat it in 1 hour and 56 minutes?) where as Zelda took me maybe 15-20 hours. Legend of Zelda - Great game, graphics are awesome, still a must have for the Cube. And do yourself a favor and get a Wavebird Wireless controller.. -Games I dont have but they are still good choices- Resident Evil Series Animal Crossing Pikmin * Super Mario Sunshine Luigi's Mansion *
