Mine was "I've Had the Time of my Life" or whatever it's called from Dirty Dancing. Which went contrary to my logic that dictated it should have been Prince's "Tonight We're Gonna Party like it's 1999" seeing as though I graduated in 1999 and all. But they went for an even gheyer song and we got Dirty Dancing shit.

A lot of my friends started a campaign to get "My Last Serenade" by Killswitch Engage to be our prom song.

I'll let you know how it does.

Bryan Adams' Heaven

I recited South Park quotes during the entire night.

"Now now, Our government has apologized for Bryan Adams on numerous occasions! "

That bloody Vitamin C Graduation song! And to think it came down between that or Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. How could they have made such a wrong decision!?

<---didn't go to his Junior or Senior proms. I'm not a very social person, and crowds bother me. The song for my Senior prom was "Wonderful Tonight" by Clapton. I suggested "Pop that Pussy" by 2 Live crew and Bel Biv DeVoe's "Do Me" as possible suggestions though.

Ah, to be 17 and ignorant again.

How could they have had Girls Just Want to have Fun as a Prom song? That woul dkind of kill the whole guys enjoying themselves stuff that Proms are for as well, wouldn't it? Why not just chose Smack My Bitch Up and have two prom songs, one for each gender?

They played that one Eve 6 song..you know the one, the depressing one or whatever. These are the nights in which we lived and all..

It was sad for me, and still sad to hear that song, because althuogh high school itself was horrible/depressing/traumatic for me, the friends I had back then, and parties, and weekends/other times we all spent together were great, and I miss those days. That song captures it perfectly, especially when my friend got the idea to videotape everything in the summer after we graduated, and before he and I would go to the Marines (I got kicked out) after the summer. In a couple of the parties, you could see a couple of us gettign drunk and sad and singing that song, which is part funny, part bittersweet, and part weird.

I thought that Boys2Men had a lock on class songs ever since "It's So hard to Say goodbye to Yesterday" was released. Then they released "End of the Road" and I thought that had it locked up.

Yeah, so anyway, my class song was "It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday" which was prolly the class song for every high school in america (except in georgia) in 1992 except for my friend Ian's school. They actually chose John Lennon's "Imagine". Fucker.

I remember Tim McGraw's "Please Remember Me" being played at least 10 times at my senior prom, but I think the song that was probably our prom song was "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. No, wait, I think that was my junior year. After three of the damned things it's really hard to remember (especially since it's been at least four years since the LAST one).

However, I think we ended up with like two class songs, one of which was Prince's "1999," considering I graduated in '99. I honestly don't remember what the other one was, but it was sad.

that journey song is 1979??? 1980?

the lita ford-ozzy song is 87-88 so it couldn't have been much too far removed from there.

Mine was "Thank You," by Led Zeppelin, and my girlfriend's was "All My Love," also by Zeppelin. I never really expected to hear Zep as a prom theme band, but I guess the songs work for that.

Um...junior prom was "Open Arms" by Journey. Senior prom I tried to block out, so I don't remember.

I don't remember the official prom song, but I do remember "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails basically being the unofficial one. Fun times to have many people yelling "fuck" simultaneously.

I don't remember. I didn't go...

*ponders*

It was U2. Now, if I could remember which song. It was something rather depressing, because a girl in our class was killed in a car crash earlier in the year. Would've made more sense for an upbeat song, but y'know, logic doesn't run real rampant in high school.

I believe it was "With or Without You".

I refused to go to my prom since it wasn't going to be a band, yet just the same old tired Disc Jockey. This turned me off cause it made it no different than a regular school dance PLUS dressing up, which I loathe. Looking back, in some ways I regret missing it, but everyone I talked to said it was no different than any other fucking lame school dance.

I think bands at dances suck, it is kind of hard to just dance to rock the whole time.

With my class, it was originally going to be the logical, "1999" by Prince, then there was movement for "Time of Your Life" by Green Day, then "Lean On Me" became the popular choice. I can't remember which one won out, it was either one of the latter two.

I ended up not going to my prom because I'm a cheap bastard and never really liked my class as it was. All in all, high school ended rather anti-climatically for me.
