Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Its in the Platinum Range now, and I'm wondering is it worth it, compared to FF VII
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I never finished the game, but personally I liked it more than VII and IX (never played VIII). The gameplay itself is pretty simple in a good way, the levelling-up method is interesting and different, and the storyline is way better than the past few FF offerings. Guest Samurai_Goat Report post Posted May 13, 2003 To me, it seemed a lot easier than most of the other FF games. The plot line was decent, and there's enough extra stuff for you to mess around with. It's a fun game, and I can say it's worth the time. Oh, and you can shorten the summon animations, though honestly you may not want to.
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2003 Those of you saying that FF X is better than FF VII need to realize that FF VII MADE RPGS MAINSTREAM!!! That created an RPG boom across all the systems. I own both games, and I've beaten both games. If I had to choose right now, between those two games to play through again? Easy. FF VII. FF X is a great game. FF VII is a MASTERPIECE. Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted May 13, 2003 FF VII is SO overrated. I mean, please. It was a fun game, and a pretty good game to boot, but not necessarily any better than FFVI, or Chrono Trigger, or numerous other RPGs that came before it. The reason why FFVII did so well is because it had a shitload of advertising, and really pretty new graphics. That's what got it mainstream, not necessarily a superior storyline or better gameplay. Gameplay wise, FFX is superior. Story-wise, they both have problems. FFX really annoyed me, in that it could have been really great story-wise, and instead just went down a really cliche path. So in a nutshell: Story: FFVII > FFX Gameplay: FFX > FFVII
Guest Samurai_Goat Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Storywise, if for nothing more than Kefka, FFVI > EVERYTHING. Mr. Seph was undoubtedly cool in that nice evil way, but Kefka had me so riled up that when I went after him, I was pacing as I was playing. Kefka is God! Guest cartman Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Can we say Kefka is the greatest Video Game Heel of all time? That menacing laugh of his is enough to piss anyone off after hearing it a few hundred times.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted May 14, 2003 The International Version (not original Japanese though) has a load of extra features and Super Bosses over the American version. The PAL version has them too, along with the big black PAL boreders. Being in the UK, I'm use to PAL. If you have the ablity to get and play the Int. or PAL version, get it. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Storylines a little annoying at times, but it's definatly a fun game to play though. Lots of extra stuff to go after as well.

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Good game and worth the pick up. Personally though, I can't wait for the FF7 remake. No, I know that one hasn't been announced, but come on. Square's making remakes (and sequels), you DON'T think they won't remake that one? Especially considering they WANT to make a sequel off of it. Now, I'm not trying to put this up to debate, I'm just pointing out somethings.

Guest Reservoir_Kitty Report post Posted May 14, 2003 FFX is one of my favorite games. Ever. I waited sooo long to play it and I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got to. My current game is clocked at about 100+ hours from just leveling, doing the side quests, and actual gameplay. Worth your money. ... I suppose it's worth mentioning that the end did indeed make me cry. A lot. I'm such a sentimentalist. The voice acting can get grating sometimes (I HATED Yuna and Tidus's voices) but it's a nice addition to the game. Then, if there's some long drawn out storyline, you can wander off and still hear what's going on. Wish they would've had that in some of the other FF's. *Grumble* So, a good story, beautiful graphics, and good gameplay = buy this game now.
Guest Star Ocean 3 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Get the FFX Piano Collections, too.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I want Kingdom hearts 2! 2005, if even at all. Damn does that suck. *Hugs his PAL FFX* One of the few times being a PAL gamer ment you got extra stuff. *Goes to get his ass handed to him by the Dark Aeons again*
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I want Vagrant Story 2 dammit. It doesn't look like that's ever going to happen though. Lame. Remakes are nice, I'm liking FF Origins, but Vagrant Story 2 would be soo much better. I didn't like FFX quite as much as FF7, but I still thought it was a great game. Definitely worth buying for $19.95.
