Chazz Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Out of all The Vampire Movies ever made (Interview with a Vampire, The From Dusk Till Dawn Trilogy, The Lost Boys, and The Addiction just to name a few), what Is the best one ever made?
Guest El Satanico Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Nosferatu of course, but it's not something I could watch on a whim like if i woke up and said "I feel like seeing Vampires". Out of the ones I could watch at anytime, I'd say that Dracula(1938) and Bram Stokers Dracula are the best. Christopher Lee's Dracula movies are also great.
Guest Downhome Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Nosferatu of course, but it's not something I could watch on a whim like if i woke up and said "I feel like seeing Vampires". I agree with this post 100%, but I must give Interview With a Vampire it's props. Even though it stars two guys who many hate for various reasons, the film was just great in my eyes in just about every way. It's more than likely the Vampire movie that I can watch over and over the most.
Guest Lethargic Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Put me down for Nosferatu and the original Dracula as well. I used to be real into Bram Stoker's but I've kinda gotten sick of it. I never get sick of the original.
Guest Marshall Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 The Blade movies! God I love them, other than that, Buffy(?) Anything but that John Carpenter Vampire movie that sucks.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Buffy? pffft I liked John Carpenter's Vampires. I wouldn't put it on my favorite vampire movies list, but I still found it to be enjoyable.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Bela Lugosi IS Dracula. The original film is so atmospheric and haunting, but really hinges on his performance. All of the Hammer films with Lee are excellent too. Anyone see the '70's t.v. movie with Jack Palance as Dracula? He gives an interesting take and performance. Really playing up that ideal of Dracula being a lost soul in time plagued by lost love and all that jazz that would be delved into in Bram Stroker's Dracula. Also, Blacula is much better than those who haven't seen it would think. For guilty pleasure vampire movies, I go with Embrace of the Vampire starring Alyssa Milano's tits and Innocent Blood featuring the brilliance of VAMPIRE ROBERT LOGGIA~!
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 John Carpenter's Vampires was a great movie. The way they brought in the Catholic Church was cool. but Bram Stroker's is probably the best.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Nosferatu ofcourse. The Horror of Dracula, the first Hammer Dracula is another of my favourites, as is Werner Herzog's remake of Nosferatu.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 For guilty pleasure vampire movies, I go with Embrace of the Vampire starring Alyssa Milano's tits and Innocent Blood featuring the brilliance of VAMPIRE ROBERT LOGGIA~! Point one...too true. Point two...I love Innocent Blood! Robert Loggia is golden,Don Rickles, and a hottie in Anne Parillaud.
Guest Kingpk Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 I liked Interview with a Vampire and Bela Lugosi's Dracula, but you have to give SOME love to Embrace of Alyssa Milano's Boobs.
Guest Reservoir_Kitty Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 I love vampire movies! I'm such a big vampire nerd it's not even amusing. Personally, I liked John Carpenter's Vampires. It's definitely towards the top of my list. I can't pick an absolute favorite.. Interview with the Vampire, From Dusk till Dawn and the Lost Boys are all time favorites though. Rotting at the opposite end of the spectrum, however, is Queen of the Damned. Worst Anne Rice movie ever made. *shudder*
Guest Lethargic Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Innocent Blood was awesome. Goodfellas with a vampire.
Mrnoitaull Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Wow, I'm the only one that thought "Interveiw with the Vampire" was the sweetest??!! Great cast. I mean c'mon even little Kristen played a helluva part in the movie.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 No love for The Breed or Fright Night, eh?
Guest El Satanico Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Wow, I'm the only one that thought "Interveiw with the Vampire" was the sweetest??!! no...two or three others said it as well.
Guest Coffin Surfer Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 I always liked "Near Dark", fairly innovative take on the vampire myth. Though the ending did have an unsatisfying rushed feel to it IMO. I'd take it over Lost Boys any day, but that's just me.
Guest Harry Hood Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 I've always loved Interview with a Vampire. Amazing movie with a great cast in my book. Although I still have many toher greats to see, i.e. Nosferatu and the Bela's version. How is shadow of the vampire, I just downloaded it.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 No love for The Breed or Fright Night, eh? You're lucky Slingshot Suplex didn't see this and go into an anti Fright Night rant...it could have gone on a while. John Carpenter's Vampires blew balls...I actually saw that on the big screen and I almost dozed off.
Guest J*ingus Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 I liked Fright Night and Near Dark, too. A few more vastly underrated vamp pics are Herzog's remake of Nosferatu, the overlooked 1979 Frank Langella version of Dracula, and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Am I the only one who didn't like From Dusk Til Dawn?
Guest Lil Naitch Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Interview With A Vampire. And The Forsaken. I loved that movie.
Guest Mole Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 What is Forsaken about? Vampires 2, with Bon Jovi, wasn't that bad either.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 No love for The Breed or Fright Night, eh? You're lucky Slingshot Suplex didn't see this and go into an anti Fright Night rant...it could have gone on a while. John Carpenter's Vampires blew balls...I actually saw that on the big screen and I almost dozed off. Huh? I know I don't like Fright Night but did I go into some delirious diatribe about it that I don't remember? Oh and John Carpenter's Vampires did suck homeless chicken dick.
