Guest Kingpk Report post Posted May 15, 2003 http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2003/0513/1552896.html Melissa Stark will not return to ABC's "Monday Night Football'' for a fourth season as a sideline reporter. Stark, who married Mike Lilley in 2001, is expecting her first child in September. She replaced Lesley Visser in 2000, along with Eric Dickerson. Dickerson wasn't brought back after his second season. "I love 'Monday Night Football,''' Stark told USA Today. "So it was an incredibly difficult decision. But now it's time for a new chapter of my life with the baby and possible other television opportunities.'' ABC Sports vice president Mark Mandel said the show is seeking a new reporter for the 2003 season. If they do back to Dickerson, I'm hurting someone at ABC. Guest alkeiper Report post Posted May 15, 2003 You can always stare at Jayson Stark on Baseball Tonight. They look somewhat alike.
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Please let them go after Jill Arrington. Please. On second thought, I'll go after her, and when I'm done she can sign the contract.

Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Whatever -- I hate female NFL sideline reporters...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Whatever -- I hate female NFL sideline reporters... Why? Stark served EQUAL purpose as any other sideline reporter... Is it cause she is a girl? Does it affect your manhood to see a Perty Girl next to big burly sweaty men?
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted May 16, 2003 "Is it cause she is a girl? Does it affect your manhood to see a Perty Girl next to big burly sweaty men?" Actually, the answer is yes. I HATE seeing women NFL sideline reporters. Those positions should be reserved for ex-athletes whose brains aren't 100 percent scrambled from his playing days. Sorry, but when I'm watching the Bears take on the Packers, I don't want Binky or Bonnie telling me that some guy just cracked his Fibula. I want to hear it from some grouchy ex-athlete who then goes on to talk about the time the same injury happened to him and that he still managed to finish the rest of the season. I have a few biases in this world. Female NFL sideline reporters happens to be one...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Did you not see Eric Dickerson man?
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted May 17, 2003 Yes. So what? He was bad. Big deal. He was an ex-athlete. It's not like ABC is taking orders from me or anything. I don't bend on my vile hatred of female NFL sideline reporters. Well, maybe not "vile hatred." More like "mute button annoyance"...
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted May 18, 2003 I don't see how Eric Dickerson was that bad. I furthermore don't really see how it is even possible to be necessarily 'bad' or 'good' at being a sideline reporter.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted May 18, 2003 Here's what makes a good sideline reporter. They give an injury update and I don't react to anything other than the update. Here's what makes a bad sideline reporter. SHE gives an injury update with a voice that is like nails to a chalkboard and I say "Shut up already"...
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted May 18, 2003 So then that would make Eric Dickerson a good sideline reporter... You know what would make him even cooler? If he was wearing a throwback Rams jersey and his playing glasses from back in the day. Fuck that I'm working for the NFL so I have to wear a business suit and tie ordeal... And you KNOW John Madden's just ready to break out wearing a polo shirt and sweats in the booth while eating chicken n ribs and a 24 ounce beer. Pabst Blue Ribbon, at that. I mean when the guy talks, you can just HEAR the fatness and slobbiness. OK, I'm way off topic now...
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2003 Bonnie Bernstein would be a nice addition. Of course, anyone but Dickerson(unless he busts out the goggles) would be a nice addition.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted May 20, 2003 "So then that would make Eric Dickerson a good sideline reporter..." No, but I'd rather listen to him over any female sideline reporter...
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 20, 2003 The New York Post reports... ABC's Monday Night Football will hire former Fox Sports Net broadcaster Lisa Guerrero to replace sideline reporter Melissa Stark, according to sources. The 38-year-old Guerrero is best known for her role on the "The Best Damn Sports Show Period!" Before pursuing careers in broadcasting and acting, she was a Los Angeles Rams' cheerleader two decades ago. Stark left the network on a one-year maternity leave. She has indicated to some ABC officials that she will not return, choosing instead to pursue a morning news job. NY Post Article Im sorta 50/50 on this one.. Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 How about Sam Ryan as her replacement ... hot, female, is a good sideline reporter (at least what I've seen of her during the Cup games) and I think that she's actually in line to do some college football games this year. Have her be the sideline reporter, and I'll have an excuse to watch the games when it's 37-7 in the third.
