ChrisMWaters Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 A friend of mine who lives in North Carolina was watching an Indy show, and the Barbarian was on it. During a match, The Barbarian did a Sharpshooter...and from what he tells me, he does it better than the Rock does. ...now if the Barbarian can do a somewhat OK Sharpshooter, why can't The Rock?
Guest DawnBTVS Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 Sadly, The Rock doesn't try to sit on the opponents lower back, instead just relying on half assing it by sitting a little on the opponents legs if that
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 It's the WWE style. Most of Rock's opponents are either shorter than he is, or just pussies who won't take the move right. And yeah, he probably doesn't know how to do it right.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 I'd also chalk it up to the WWE style. You put somebody in the Sharpshooter the right way, it hurts like a bitch. Same thing with the Liontamer.
Guest HartFan86 Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Yeah...the WWE really bastardized the Liontamer.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 It's not even an actual lion tamer anymore. They just have Jericho do a freaking boston crab!
Guest Sakura Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Speaking of Barbarian...when can we expect the return of him and Meng to "spice up the tag division" and "give a rub to Kane and RVD"?
ChrisMWaters Posted May 17, 2003 Author Report Posted May 17, 2003 No...you see...WWE left the Liontamer alone...it's just that Jericho never uses it anymore. He always uses the Walls of Jericho now...except that one time against Trish.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 No...you see...WWE left the Liontamer alone...it's just that Jericho never uses it anymore. He always uses the Walls of Jericho now...except that one time against Trish. When did the Walls of Jericho become a Boston Crab?

Give me a break...it's painful!
ChrisMWaters Posted May 17, 2003 Author Report Posted May 17, 2003 Speaking of Barbarian...when can we expect the return of him and Meng to "spice up the tag division" and "give a rub to Kane and RVD"? Don't you mean Haku?
Guest Bannable Offense Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 (edited) No she means Meng. He's always been called Meng. [/WWE anachronistic logic] Edited May 17, 2003 by Bannable Offense
Guest Bannable Offense Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 I think you mean she. Previous post has been edited. Please forgive me for momentarily forgetting there is a female demographic on this board. BTW, for having "Bishoujo Senshi" as a title, I shall use a smiley.
Guest Sakura Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 You're forgiven. Actually I am not even sure if I've ever mentioned my gender in the first place.
Guest Bannable Offense Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 With a title like "Bishoujo Senshi", I'd hope that you're a female.
Guest Sakura Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Yeah, true, but not everyone knows what it means. I am just happy that at least SOMEONE knows.
Rendclaw Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 ::chuckles:: I knew from Sakura, the name of the Ryu hero-worshipper from SF Alpha 2, which also means "cherry", not to mention the nice avatar pic... what game is that from? I want to say Parasite Eve 2, but I'm noit certain. ::tactfully doesn;t mention his mistaking her for Yuna::
Guest Sakura Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 It's Nina Williams from the Tekken series.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Bishoujo Senshi. I used to watch that show. Regularly, as hard as that is to admit... Anyway, even I've used a decent Sharpshooter as well as been in one, though it really does hurt when you cinch it in correctly. Heck the Boston Crab hurts too if you use it right.
Rendclaw Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 I like that one much better that the Sailor Moon one, to be sure.
Guest Sakura Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Sailor Moon rules! I am such a mark for fighting school girls.
Rendclaw Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Hence you took the name of the queen of all fighting schoolgirls.... at least until until Alpha 3 came out
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Karin owns Sakura (the characters). It's a shame the rest of Alpha 3 is so weak. And it's sad that submissions are looking wimpier and wimpier. Before long the Ice Pick will return (Glacier jabbed a thumb into his opponent's pectoral muscle. Yeah...that's it), and the Purple Nurple and Ticklelock Submission will be used as finishers.
Rendclaw Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 dammit Andrew, where the hell do you get these yummy pics of Gail??

Guest Sakura Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Karin owns Sakura (the characters). It's a shame the rest of Alpha 3 is so weak. Karin Kanzuki does rule and should be in more games for sure...but she is no Sakura. And Alpha 3 is great. My only problem with it is that it doesn't really seem like "Alpha 3". It's more like an uber SF game with all the characters, the ISMs and the weird story.

And basically, yeah, Alpha 3 is lazy otherwise. Too bad the Saturn version is in Japanese only (hence the endings are unreadable to me as well as not very good in English anyway), the DC version sucks control-wise due to the controller, and the PS version has the animation cut problem.
Guest Sakura Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Yeah, Karin has like shorts under her skirt. I like her outfit a lot. I play Alpha 3 arcade.

The one arcade we had around here (Pocket Change) had Alpha 3 for about a week. It's currently out of business.
