When I think of Bad Blood,

Recommended Posts

You know, I wonder if the average WWE fan will remember the first Badd Blood PPV. I also wonder if anyone will remember Brian F'N Pillman, and that same PPV was where the world learned of Pillman's death. Now, 6 years later, they're gonna have another Bad Blood PPV, and I wonder that once the Bad Blood website is up & running, will they have a history section that will have the results of the last Badd Blood in 97? I doubt they will mention anything about Brian Pillman. I just think the last PPV in 97 will be mostly remembered for the loss of the Loose Cannon.

Badd Blood wasn't the last PPV in 1997.

DX was.

The only thing fans remotely remember about Badd Blood is not Pillman but the first ever HIAC.

I'll never forget Pillman when I think of Badd Blood, but I think most fans just remember Badd Blood and think "Hell in A Cell".

When I think of Bad Blood, I think of Carlos Newton vs. Jose 'Pele' Landi...

actually, i don't think casual fans remember badd blood at all. hell, i was watching wrestlewar 91 with a friend the other day (who epitomizes casual fandom) and he hardly remembered pillman. if it weren't for my taker dvd, he would have never seen the badd blood hiac. the simple fact is that the wwf ppv's in 97 were drawing jack and shit at the time so not many people remember the show, the match or even the man.

I didn't have a problem with Vince annoucing to the at home audiance that Pillman died. But he was talking about a "possible drug overdose" while admitting that he didn't know any of the facts. That was crap

I doubt WW_ would want to sully what could be "the greatest HIAC match ever" with something as depressing as paying respect to a fallen comrade. Why distract the viewers when they want all their attention on the true barnburner that HHH v. Nash II will no doubt be.

And by "barnburner" I mean "I would rather burn down a barn with myself in it than watch that match."

I'll never forget Bad Blood '97 for the fact that one of my all time favorite guys passed away.

I remember having to run to pick up a friend so that he could come over and watch it. While on the road, my pager started going nuts. I got back to my house and called those who paged, all of whom filled me in that my hero, the "Loose Cannon" had passed.

I damn near cried, I'll admit it. I always dug Brian Pillman.

Just a little followup for you guys: This past Christmas I got a puppy. His name?

Pillman.
