I need to vent

Recommended Posts

Guest wildpegasus

The WWE is now the stupidest company of all time. They got me so frustrated and noncaring that I haven't even had the passion to post lately. I just find myself writing up a post halfway and than deleting it.

Things That Make Me Vent:

1)They haven't known what to do with Benoit for 4 months now and we're possably heading for 5. There's no excuse for that. Just none. A 4 minute 6 man match at the PPV last night? Even WCW never buried Benoit that bad.

2)Nash and Michaels being the only ones allowed to kick out of the pedigree.

3)Mat Hardy, Eddy and RVD completely missing PPV's

4)Noone being allowed to use their full moveset

5)Everyone having to get haircuts

6)The WWE style

7)Vinnie Mac and Hogan taking all the spotlight

8)Jim Ross commentating like he doesn't even care. Except for the opening and closing segments

9)The Undertapper, Jerry Lawler, Kain, Bradshaw,

10) All invisable camera backstage segments.

11)The complete and total utter stupidity of whoever is booking. They should at least have things make sense

Yeah, I know this has been said before and it'll probably be said again but I just had to get that out. Before someone asks why I still watch, I'll tell them. Since I tend to watch with friends it eases the pain. If I wasn't I would just tape the show like I always did in the past just so I can catch Benoit, Eddy, Hardy, Edge, Rey and Angle.

To balance this post out, I'll say something good. The Kurt Angle videos are great. Lesnar is a good champion.

"Then stop watching"

Like I said before I watch with friends. I feel a somewhat obligation to watch with since I'm such a nice guy. It gives us something to talk about. That's how I manage to get through the show.

"It could be worse"

That's the scary part. It really could be. I think I'll have to once again cleanse my mind with some 90's puroresu.

Oh, wait, that doesn't protect the crappiness of the product.

I recommend listening to "I hate everything about you" by 3 Days Grace and then putting the music to a video montage of Vince McMahon dying in your head. Hey, at the least it will get you a new sig.

Don't watch the show anymore. It worked for me. I find myself laughing at all the fucks who waste their time with wwe tv. I also find myself garnering a greater appreciation for all things not wwe.

'Then don't watch'

Many don't. I haven't since a month before WMXIX, and I went to the goddamn show. I was a diehard wrestling fan, but I couldn't stand it anymore. I have 3 friends who are as diehard as me: Buy tapes, used to watch all the PPVs, used to get pissed if we missed a show.

Now we could give a shit. I spend more time here, on a board than watching wrestling ('sides my tapes). Doesn't that tell you that's something's wrong?

Sorry if that hurts you, Big. Hey, if you recognize that the WWE sucks and they hate their fans, fine. However, if you defend the company then we've got a problem.

On a INTERNET WRESTLING MESSAGE BOARD.

Wow, really, man, you are SO cool.

So I can't defend the use of Christian, who is FINALLY getting a focused singles push since his WWE debut? The re-birth of the Intercontinental title, which has a good selection of workers to thrive on? There's ALOT of things to still look highly with anticipation upon - no need to come on a INTERNET WRESTLING MESSAGE BOARD to complain about a show YOU DON'T WATCH ANYMORE.

To be honest, I'm surprised that I've lasted this long. Not a RAW goes by where I don't think of putting my foot through the fucking TV.

I can't defend the WWE because at this point, I don't really care. I watch with almost complete apathy or awe (and not the good kind). But part of me just doesn't want to stop watching for fear that I'll miss the turning point. Because it has to happen, right? Things have to get better.

Right?

Go ahead. Defend the use of Christian who managed to CHEAT in a BATTLE ROYALE and before then get SQUASHED by Goldberg on Monday. Did you watch RAW? I fuckin didn't but it sure as hell looks like Christian's title reign is already fucked.

As for this random bitching, they started it. I've earned my stripes as a wrestling fan and have a right to complain.

Perhaps things can get better

The thing with wrestling is that unlike any other show it's divided up into lots of different segments. This creates lots of opportunity for complaints. There is a lot of potential for greatness if done right. One segment may be really awesome but the rest might just happen to suck. That segment which happens to intertwine with the other segments somewhat may just be enough to hook someone though. Perhaps this is the reason why people coninue to watch.

Well, considering Christian is a HEEL (*gasp*) I can advocate cheating....by a heel.

You sure do. But I'm not the one who's turned off the WWE altogether, yet still visiting this forum to offer your opinion on a PRODUCT YOU DON'T WATCH ANYMORE. (I'm not referring to the entire board itself, where there's still Puroresu, TNA and Misc. to comment on.)

(LOTC, this is not a personal attack at all. I won't take this to NHB, because it will not get any more "heated" than this post.)

People continue to watch because they're scared to let go. Seriously. I was. I'd been watching since I was 6 and I'm almost 20 now. It's hard to look at something that has been a staple in your life and just say "Later". It took me a long while to finally drive the WWE out but I'm glad I said my goodbyes (for now). People need to realize that there is a world outside the WWE and it's very welcoming when you consider what the average WWE fan endures.

1. Does cheating last night and and getting DQ'd tonight put Christian over as a strong IC champ?

2. I come to this forum because there are still threads that interest me. It's that simple. If I feel the need to bitch, I do so but I don't make any attempt to flame the WWE every second in every thread. They're not worth the time.

Not really, but you have to assume that they going to build up Christian up as a "serious heel" first, before trying to paint him as a "good champion".

The title's been kept in mothballs since the No Mercy PPV in October, so it's safe to assume that the fans are not accustomed to the legitimacy the title brings to the wrestler. The writers are going to have to work backwards with this title, ala the institution of the WWE Tag Team titles last October.

I have a problem with people complaining about wrestling. I agree the sport has it's flaws, but come on here!!! I understand what you are saying about the PPV opener being short but at least Benoit's not doing the job for the taskmaster or feuding with Big Show. Also yes WCW DID bury him worse. Your bitching about haircuts too??? Yes, haircuts....I guess the ratings keep falling because people are getting haircuts.....and I don't know if you know this or not but Vince and Hogan have been hogging the spotlight since 1984. And if Ross was more enthusiastic he would drop dead from heart failure.

Concentrate on the positive, the WWE is definately still watchable and so are other great fed's like NWA TNA, ROH, etc.........

WCW may have buried Benoit worse in his overall ranking spot on the card but the WWE is breaking all levels of stupidity in not knowing what to do with the crippler. In this regard, they're worse.

A haircut isn't going to affect ratings too much but what it does is make everyone on TV look bland. (WHich the WWE seems obsessed in making everyone look like) It's comparable to bodybuilding. When one of the links in the chain is broken it's going to cost you. Why do Hunter, Nash, and Michaels all have long hair? So they can stand out from the crowd. It's one of the factors in giving them a non bland look ie: charisma. People with charisma get people watching TV.

Vince and Hogan are now hogging the spotlight more than ever. The whole Smackdown show is built around them. It's just plain stupid.

What are they supposed to do with Benoit then hotshot. Sure they're not using him right, but it's one thing to say that. It's another to come up with something reasonable they could do. Any numbnut in the world can see that Benoit's being mis-used.

2)Nash and Michaels being the only ones allowed to kick out of the pedigree.

I'm not gonna argue with that, until someone else kicks out of it. Apart from Austin and Rock have kicked out of it before. I'm pretty sure Angle has too.

3)Matt Hardy, Eddy and RVD completely missing PPV's

Yes, because Eddie and RVD are NOT both Tag Team Champions, are they!

4)Noone being allowed to use their full moveset

Nonsense. Kevin Nash uses all of his moves on a regular basis. Boot, weak forearm, snakeeyes, sidewalk slam, angry look, jacknife, flick hair from eyes.

5)Everyone having to get haircuts

Everyone is used WAY to much. Everyone means Austin would get a haircut. Angle would get a haircut. HHH would get a hair cut. etc etc.

6)The WWE style

If you don't like it, there's always NWA:TNA or the Puro stuff.

7)Vinnie Mac and Hogan taking all the spotlight

Oooh, don't forget HHH! Oh, and Lesnar was the man left standing at the end of the PPV, remember that.

8)Jim Ross commentating like he doesn't even care. Except for the opening and closing segments

Not true. He still cares about some people. Booker T as one example. And he still has a go at King every now and then.

9)The Undertapper, Jerry Lawler, Kain, Bradshaw,

I dunno whever they were deliberate mis-spellings or not. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't.

10) All invisable camera backstage segments.

It's been that way for years dude. It'll never change.

11)The complete and total utter stupidity of whoever is booking. They should at least have things make sense

That's a general term. Some things make sense,s ome don't. Saying Mr America is a Hogan fan to cover for his Hogan antics-sense. Storm as Jericho's hitman...in between sense and nonsense.

I don't watch because I'm scared to let go. I watch because it entertains me. Then, with shows like this past RAW, I see no reason at all to stop watching ANYTIME soon. Last night was one of the reasons I am a wrestling fan. Last night was one of the reasons I will continue to watch.
