Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Tonight is going to rule. The Draft! The World Title Match! This will be the biggest Raw ever!
Guest MARTYEWR Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Dude... its 2:30 PM. Kinda jumping the gun huh? Hall and Nash in all likely-hood are not even at Penn State yet. That's too funny, BX! Actually, at Smackdown last week, my friends and I showed up at the arena at 4 pm to grab some dinner before it started getting packed, and Nash and Hall supposedly didn't show up until 5 pm. Too weird. So how will the two champs be drafted? I know HHH and Jazz can be on both shows, but what happens when they eventually drop their titles? Do they just go on the show that the victor was on?
Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Official Raw predictions relax everybody. we're all very excited about the draft, mainly because we've been running drafts with our buddies for years. Need i remind you that this is the WWF? The draft will be composed of lame "earlier tonight" video segments, and we'll see 10 picks if we're lucky. And let's not forgot this could be the night that Stephanie doesn't stop at just burying Jericho, she and Trips are gonna kill him dead. Then Steph will beat the rock at Backlash. Brrrrr...... Guest Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I have a felling that raw is going to totally rule. but whats going to happen will they announce all of there picks.

You actually bring up a few good points. But Steph's already pinned the Rock. Maybe she's going to pin Austin at Backlash. Maybe that's what Austin was so upset about. Hmmm... By the way, welcome aboard, and your username rules!
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I think the first 5-20 picks will happen during the opening 20 minute promo. I see red carpet and a desk in the ring.
Guest gthureson Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Tonight is the beginning of SMH's monster heel run as champ. Steph will pin both Jericho and HHH clean. She will then remain champ until at least WMX9, fueding with HHH, Austin, then RVD. She will go over them all cleanly. Finally, leading into WMX9, there will be somebody with the talent and desire to finally take the straps from the billion dollar princess....yes.....Shane McMahon. Because nobody but a McMahon can beat a McMahon. However, it will take Shane, Benoit and a sledgehammer to finally put Steph down and allow Shane to get the 1-2-3 so Steph can still remain a strong heel without the belts. That is my prediction. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Whose username is cool? That would be "Smell the ratings!!!"
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted March 25, 2002 I can't see the title changing hands on RAW, but then again this is the biggest RAW ever or something. The only two possible finishes are HHH or Jericho pinning Stephanie. If Steph wins the title, instead of holding a draft for the new BRANDS they should hold a unemployment job fair. As far as the draft, why the WWF Feels the need to break up the tag teams in what is an already thin Tag Team division makes zero sense. And nothing ever good happens when the WWF rolls out the red carpet..
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 25, 2002 If they set up like the NHL drafts with Flair and some of his troop(Arn Anderson) and Vince with some lawyers and maybe some other guys. Have a the sides of the titantron host the names of the wrestlers and their drafted numbers and the main part flash up pictures of the currently drafted guys and then maybe their reaction in the back. Then have a big thing backstage with them going to the other side.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'm still hoping for a long draft. But, I said that onetime and a good point was made that the crowd will be dead for it. Hopefully there will be a way to keep the crowd in it and at the same time have a good draft that, like Smell The Ratings said, will do justice in our minds to all the little drafts that we ran as kids. Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'm a little worried about the really high hopes some people have for the show. -=Mike ...EMBRACE pessimism, folks.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted March 26, 2002 i'm one of the more pessimistic ones on the board, & i'm actually looking forward to tonight. i've got a good feeling about it, i really don't know why. and everybody, please stop adding comments to igor's post about steve austin being dead & let it die from the board. Guest bradolson Report post Posted March 26, 2002 This is the WWF. Nothing final will happen in one show. They would rather string this out as long as possible for the ratings factor. From the Torch: Early Raw preview: The draft may not mean what it appears By Wade Keller, Torch editor March 25, 2002 2:21 pm Raw tonight will feature the "brand extension" of the WWF into two separate divisions. The draft, though, will not end up being the final rosters. Many television angle the next few weeks will center around trades being made between Ric Flair and Vince McMahon of various names. Many trades are said to be in the cards as the storyline plays out of wrestlers protesting their divisions or tag wrestlers leveraging to be reunited with tag partners. Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I want to see a draft one to whatever, but that's not going to happen. I think it will be lots of Linda,Vince,Flair bullshit. Pretend lawers and about 5 names picked . HHH,Hogan,Rock, Austin,NWO,Taker,Test. I expect there to be lots of bad backstage stuff going on and Steph to still be on our screens. When I first heard the idea for the lethal lottery I thought it sounded good and it wasn't. I expect the draft to be the same. They're teasing Steph off our screens but I just don't see it happening. Hope I'm wrong.
Guest Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Does anyone actually expect the 'brand extension' to last, my bet is that their back together as one unit in a couple of months or by surivivor series at the latest.
Guest ratboy Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'd love to see the WWF convince David Stern (NBA Commissioner) to oversee their draft--I think that would be hilariously cool. "...with the first overall pick in the WWF draft, Vince McMahon selects __." Okay, so I'm a dork. But it'd still be a nice, if not unlikely touch.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Will there be new talent from the indy scene show up in the draft or will the draft just be the main eventers? Will any NWA guys show up on the draft: AJ Styles!!?!?!?!!? as for the get Stephanie off TV angle continues, I foresee the obvious ending nWo run in with HHH as champ......spay painting the WCW title. But the WWF Board of Director Linda McMahon declares a WWF title spli......expansion with Jericho getting the fed title.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted March 26, 2002 After the first couple of rounds, I'd be curious to see how the WWF keeps fan interest high when Flair and VKM are trying to decide whether or not to draft Test or Kane...
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I hope they don't show any picks since everyone's already talking, and there's no need to. It's just a waste of tim, announce it near the end of the night.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'm just wondering how will the draft go down, who the hell Triple H is gonna feud with, if Austin shows up tonight (or will his problems with the WWF escalate), and will Benoit make a long needed return to the ring.... Guest The Masked Yodeler Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Tonights Raw will either be really good, or it will really suck. I do not foresee any middle ground.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Rumor has it that many guys that have been spending time in OVW/HWA will be back/debut tonight. That means that Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Hugh Morrus, Justin Credible, Kidman, Shawn Stasiak, D Lo Brown, Mark Henry and others will be gracing our screens. If some really cool angles come out of the returns/debuts/picks tonight, then it will be an awesome RAW, just like last July's "ECW reunion night" If all they are doing are showing up, standing there, and reacting/bitching/whatever about the draft results, combined with what is sure to be a stupidly booked World Title match, RAW is gonna suck. And is it just me, or can you just see how they do the draft now... Draft happens between matches, backstage or at Titan towers or something. At certain points we are taken there and see McMahon and Flair make certain picks. At other points, during matches, say Scotty/Albert vs. The Hardy Boyz, we'll hear Ross say "And we've just gotten word that the #41 pick is The Hurricane!" or some crap like that. That way the announcer ACTUALLY HAVE A REASON NOT TO CALL THE MATCH!!!! Exciting, no? I'd rather that they draft in lots of 5 or something, that way guys pick towards the end aren't viewed as low-mid carders. Mix up the talent roster, and put them in lots, like Test, Angle, Jeff Hardy, Funaki and Edge, that way you're getting a mixed bag. Only 2 1/2 hours away from the Latest RAW to overhype!
