Whats with HHH's hardon for

Recommended Posts

Guest cynicalprofit

He's done one with Foley, Jericho, the 6 man, and now with Kevin Nash. Why does he love the gimmick so much? I mean he thinks he's the game and all, but both he and Kevin Nash are not in the best of physical conditions, especially for a match that the fans expect a big bump from and I truthfully doubt either man can or will do a big bump. Maybe HHH would for his buddy, but I just don't see it being good or memorable, let alone actually happening.

Spit some thoughts.

BTW does Nash have any cage experience outside of wargames?

Well, the last HiaC (Brock/Taker) didn't leave the Cell. I think that the WWE will utilize this strategy for the rest of the HiaC matches. Makes more sense. I mean, isn't the point of the Cell so that someone (in this case HHH) can't run away, yet the Cage adds another element to the match.

I know that I'm not expecting a big bump. I'm just expecting two blade jobs (maybe 3 if Flair is at ringside) and a couple of false finishes.

I recall Nash having a cage match with Bret Hart in the mid-90's.

I think HHH does the Cell for two reasons: 1) To cover up his lack of athleticism by participating in a match that caters to a brawling style, and 2) so JR can constantly scream, "This is the MOST BRUTAL match ever created BAH GAWD!"

Here's an interesting point: The words, "Hell in a Cell" got a bigger pop than Kevin Nash has had since his return. The damn cage is a bigger babyface than the guy headlining the PPV! WTF!

Personally, I don't see the point. HHH and Nash will brawl, HHH will blade, match will suck, etc. I'm not impressed with HHH blade jobs anymore, he does them like every PPV. I want to see the guy do a suplex once in a while. Is that too much to ask?

February 1996. In Your House. A world title cage match against Bret Hart, where UT runs interference, setting up their blow-off match at Wrestlemania XII, where he jobs. (Which is a moot point, since Nash received the title shot at the following PPV).

I mark for HIAC, but this is a situation where the equipment outranks the wrestlers.

Come to think of it, hasn't Triple H competed in -- and won -- almost every "major" gimmick match WWE has?

He won the 2003 Royal Rumble.

He beat HBK in a ladder match for the World title, and beat The Rock in a ladder match for the IC title.

He's beaten Cactus Jack and Chris Jericho in Hell in a Cell matches, one of which was for the World title.

He beat The Rock in an Iron Man match for the World title.

He's beat Cactus Jack in a Street Fight for the World title.

He's won numerous triple threat matches, including the one versus Jericho and Stephanie for the World title.

He won a Fatal 4-way match at Wrestlemania 2000 for the World title.

He beat Kane in an Inferno Match on Smackdown in 1999.

He fought Kane in a Casket Match during the Katie Vick angle. I can't remember who won, though. HHH was also in a Casket Match with Mideon and Viscera in 1999 on Smackdown.

He won the 6-pack Challenge at Unforgiven 1999 for the World title.

He's beaten Steve Austin and HBK in 2/3 Falls matches, one being for the World title.

He's won numerous steel cage matches, I'm sure.

He was in the Elimination Chamber match for the World title, which he lost.

He was in a 6-man tag match for the World title at KOTR 2000.

I think the only one Triple H hasn't been in is an "I Quit" match.

Triple H also won a Strap Match -- well, a "Brahma Bull Rope" match, but it's the same thing -- against The Rock in 1999.

He also beat Mankind in a Boiler Room Brawl that same show.

He also was in a Choke Slam Challenge with Big Show.....huh? What do you mean "that's not a major gimmick match?"

Actually, he's won TWO of those against the Rock.

Once at Fully Loaded '99 and then again at the Smackdown you mentioned (specifically, it was in October where he goes through the gimmick gauntlet.)

He's also done a Last Man Standing match, against Jericho at Fully Loaded 2000, where he just barely edged out Jericho for the win. ;)

What's left for Trips, do you say?

Well, he still has the "Buried Alive" match to do, which is a slight variation of what he's doing with the entire RAW roster's careers...

Thank you. I'll be here all week.

The MSG clique incident involved a Nash-HBK cage match.

Well If we're being picky then he hasn't competed in a First Blood match either, at least to my knowledge.

But looking at that list, holy fuck, I really had not realised how much Triple H had done in his reletively short time at the top.

Nash has also faced Booker T in a Steel Cage match for the WCW Title on one of the PPV's in 2000, Fall Brawl i think.

Kane won, due to HBK interference.

What about table matches? Has he won any of those?

It's simple.

(If the match is good) "Yeah, Vince, I toldya I'd giveya a show... Me and Nash, we're just so good together, the Cell was just background... i think the story we told, the physical intensity that each of us brings, it really made the match"

(If the match sucks) "Vince, the fans are just tired of the Cell, what can I say? It lacks the intrigue and drama that it once had. That last Cell match with Brock really must have killed it because the fans weren't buying any of the danger... I think it's time to bring back the elimination chamber - that was a great idea..."

Don't you mean WHEN the match is bad? I mean, we can't possibly get a good match out of Triple H vs Kevin Nash can we? Wouldn't that be like something against the laws of nature?

Well I'm just taking the POV of HHH here.... I'm sure he thinks he can pull a good one outta Nash... He probably thinks The Smoke and Mirrors match... err.. I mean Hell in a Cell... will do that.

Touche.

I think that when Triple H ends his career (God strike him down sometime soon if he doesn't), he'll say that's he's done everything in this business and mean it.

Lord knows he's trying to do everything...

On HHH's tombstone..

He was really muscular.

He wrestled a lot of gimmick matches.

He buried a lot of guys.

...Jericho is down here too.

Yeah, they'll dig Jericho's grave to 9 feet, and put HHH above him even in death... ;)

Guys... you're missing the most important gimmick match of them all... a gimmick match so feared that it puts the HIAC and the rest of them to complete and utter shame...

Jericho won't be only 9 feet down....he'll be more like 20 or 30...which at the funeral JR will scream "HE MUST BE SIXTY OR SEVENTY FEET BELOW BAH GAWD!"

All that is left is a Retirement or Hair match

The HIAC with Foley was career vs title.

Doesn't count unless it's "Loser Retires" either way, at least to me.

HHH won't be getting his hair cut anytime soon. Maybe he's saving Hair vs. Hair for a fued with Jericho.
