Guest DrTom Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 No. They're both quite good and enjoyable, but I didn't think Reloaded followed up on some things I expected to see in it. Example: Neo can stop bullets in midair, fly, etc. Why does he still NEED to do kung fu? He should just wave his hand and cast the other person into an Abyss, or something. I know it allows for fight scenes, but the choreography is becoming obvious in the respect that we see two (or more) actors who are clearly not trying to hurt each other. They're still directed well, so they're fun to watch, but I think the fight scenes in the first movie were better.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Yes. It's not as revolutionary, but it is the better film and that what counts.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I went with no, but it's close. Like I said in the other thread, it's a different kind of movie: the action is less initially impressive, but the environment, characters, and entire fleshing out of the Zion/Matrix world is great. I think it's a rock-solid second installment, but it obviously doesn't stand alone as well without the first and eventually third to bookend it.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 i think the 2nd one holds up to the original. I thoroughly enjoyed the follow up and I can't wait for the next one so my vote is yes.
Guest Cover of Darkness Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 No, the 2nd one kills the sense of excitement of the first one by over explanation. The title should be: "The Matrix: Odd People Explain the Plot to Neo"
Guest The Notorious CRD Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I voted no, because Reloaded seemed like (and basically is) half a movie. That's not to say it was bad (it wasn't even close to being so); it just didn't have the same impact. One thing Reloaded does have over the original though, is Harold Perrineau, Jr. (Link), one of my favorite actors.

The title should be: "The Matrix: Odd People Explain the Plot to Neo" Haha, that's great. For some reason I can see Keanu, just before each scene... "So, dude, am I like.. Supposed to BE Neo in this scene? Oh, really? ....woah."

Guest Jobber of the Week Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I hated the original and still feel like the only guy in the world who doesn't like the movie. The second one was better. I was okay with it.

I wonder if Henry Rollins and Ice T want to jam after the shoot...........Wild Stallions Rock!
