You know, I won't be too displeased if Williams hooked up with Goldberg or even Benoit or Angle or somebody like that. His style of either being a hardass brawler or a technical whiz is pretty much a good fit with either spectrum. I seriously hope that he actually gets used. He's not bad. If he's motivated.

Jim Ross in the UWF- Biggest mark in wrestling. He was a mark for Oklahoma football, too, and loved Doc to death because he introduced him to coach Barry Switzer. He became “bigger than life” in the WWF. He figures Vince Russo played JR and him against each other, but he blames JR for a lot of what happened there. He asks how you can bring in a guy who’s done about everything in the business and bring him under a mask and not be himself. He talks about how he’s a natural heel but JR didn’t want to get booed, so he turned both of them face and it was a mistake.

 

 

Oklahoma- After everything above happened, WCW called him up to do the Oklahoma angle making fun of Jim Ross. They paid him $50,000 so the price was right. He says that the only time he’s talked to JR since the WWF screwed him was when he was trying to get WWF talent to work an All Japan show at the Tokyo Dome and all JR could say was “How bout them Boomer Sooners? How bout them Boomer Sooners? How bout them Boomer Sooners?” (OK, why does THAT not surprise me?)

...it's a shame some people don't know the name of moves because of these lousy, shitty commentators shilling other matches or babbling instead of calling the match.

 

JR used to call the match, although he would always call a side slam a "sidewalk slam" and make a few other mistakes.

On that note, does it piss you off when JR calls La Resistance's finisher a "flapjack" when really it's just a double "spinebuster" (although technically it's a double sidewalk slam since they don't spin the guy around)? A flapjack lands the guy on his face, not his back. That really irks me.

Exactly. He completely lambasted Austin for walking out last June. While announcing, and especially on Confidential, he took NUMEROUS digs at his supposed best friend. And now that Austin is back, he's his biggest fanboy again. JR is higher on my dispise scale than Triple H by a long shot. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

His comments aganist Austin were most likely politically driven, as Vince wanted Steve to know how royally he fucked up... time healed the wounds... now Austin is JR's boy again!
