Guest GameCop Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Lebron, Jalen Rose, Jay Williams, and Chandler for Garnett? Minessota would be getting the deal of the century. Chicago would be giving up WAY too much for Garnett.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Unless the Clips get the top 2 picks to get either Darko or Lebron, they should definitely trade their pick to save more money to sign their existing free agents. Besides, Elgin Baylor has no clue when it comes to drafting talent. They had 2 lottery picks last year and they wasted them on Melvin Ely and Chris Wilcox. In prior years, they have taken Bo Kimble, Lorenzen Wright, Kandi (who has played 1 good year out of 5), Terry Dehere, randy Woods, Ken Norman, Gary Grant etc.
Guest Ripper Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Lorenzen Wright is the truth...of course he showed he was the truth after he left the Clipper...but the truth either way.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Where Lebron wants to go Cleveland LeBron said if he's drafted by Cleveland he'll demand a trade. You see LeBron was buddies with former Cavs coach John Lucas and when Lucas got fired, LeBron told his friends he didn't want to play for the Cavs. Although James was seen in the front row of a few Cavs games after John Lucas got fired. LeBron has backed off on the anti-Cavs stance since he made that statement. And while the "Local Boy Done Good" story seems too good for them to pass up, I still don't see any chance in hell of LeBron coming to Cleveland. That would be too good to be true. Cleveland doesn't get breaks like that. By the way, Denver won that coin toss, meaning they would get no worse than the 4th pick. Cleveland gets no worse than No. 5. I don't think it would be the end of the world if the Cavs got shafted all the way down to 5. They could probably get TJ Ford there and the Cavs really need a point guard anyway. That would fit. And while some people here are saying take 'Melo with the first pick (and that's not that bad an idea), I think in the case of the Cavaliers, if you get No. 1, you HAVE to take LeBron. The kid will single-handedly make Cleveland fans care about Cavaliers basketball again. He's a local product that we've all been following since his freshman year of high school.

Chicago would be giving up WAY too much for Garnett. James or Anthony would not be a part of any trade. It's only if Chicago gets the pick there supposed to get (7th).
Guest bravesfan Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Lebron, Jalen Rose, Jay Williams, and Chandler for Garnett? Minessota would be getting the deal of the century. Chicago would be giving up WAY too much for Garnett. As much as I WANT Garnett in Chicago, even a trade involving Jay, Jalen and Tyson might be pushing it - not to mention the lottery pick that Chicago will be getting. Of course, the Wolves are devoid of any picks AGAIN this year, they might be a bit desperate in unloading KG.
Guest Human Fly Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 If the T-Wolves are so desperate for a 1st round pick, they should trade Wally. Washington got the #15 pick for Courtney Alexander last year, so you Minnesota could get something better than that.
Gert T Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Here's the order teams have at getting the # 1 pick: 1. Cleveland 1. Denver 3. Toronto 4. Miami 5. LA Clippers 6. Memphis (going to Detroit unless #1 pick) 7. Chicago 8. Atlanta 9. New York 10. Washington 11. Golden State 12. Seattle 13. Houston (going to Memphis) How lucky could Jerry West possibly get? Also, the number of foreign players and underclassmen is unreal, don't you think some of these US guys leaving early would look at how many are leaving and think it may not be a good idea? I mean what are there 58-62 spots?
Guest bravesfan Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 NOTE: Using the NBA's lottery system, adding 3 to each team's draft order, equals the LOWEST pick they are able to receive. (ex: #4 Miami can't receive worse than than 7th pick, #7 Chicago can't get any worse than the 10th pick).
Guest El Satanico Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 So Memphis could potentially win the first two picks in this years draft. Lebron and Carmelo...I'm sure Jerry West would love that.
Guest razazteca Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 The Draft pre show is on ABC right now
Guest El Satanico Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Lebron is praying to eveery "god" in existance that Denveer doesn't win
Guest El Satanico Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 So Detroit gets Carmelo. A defensive player that compliments Ben Wallace and adds offense to go with it.

Guest bravesfan Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 (edited) EDIT: Nevermind. Detroit made out like bandits here. Edited May 22, 2003 by bravesfan
Guest The Tino Standard Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 LEBRON IS COMING TO CLEVELAND! LEBRON IS COMING TO CLEVELAND! WOOOOOO!!!
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 if carmello pans out and prince expands on his game, detroit will be killer next year!!!
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Anthony might of come out better than anyone in the draft. He's going to a playoff team, who needs help immediatley. James is playing for the Cavaliers. No guarantee they'll turn things around.
Guest razazteca Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Pistons get #2 because of a deal made earlier?
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 i don't think james will be hurting at all. if he never steps foot on an nma court, he'll have a nice near 9 figure shoe deal. then add his upper deck deal and his nba contract. too much too soon... but hey , he'll have a nice ride.
bobobrazil1984 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 (edited) I actually think Detroit will pass up Carmello and pick Darko Melo-howeveryouspellit... they are weak in the center offensive position. A good big man in the center is the one hole they need to fill to be truly great. EDIT No sooner do I post this, the guy on ABC is saying Detroit tested or played with him today (or whatever) and were very impressed and were gonna take him... Edited May 22, 2003 by metr0man
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 (edited) Otis Thorpe for the #2. pick likely according to David Aldridge Darko Milivec. Who traded Otis Thorpe for a 1st round pick? Edited May 22, 2003 by Vern Gagne
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Pistons get #2 because of a deal made earlier? yes, when otis thorpe went to vancouver in exchange for a 1st round draft pick. the only way memphis was able to get the pick if they drew #1 which they didn't.
Guest bravesfan Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 The Pistons are MOST CERTAINLY taking Darko?!?
Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 1. Cleveland Cavaliers 2. Memphis Grizzlies (conveyed to Detroit Pistons) 3. Denver Nuggets 4. Toronto Raptors 5. Miami Heat 6. Los Angeles Clippers 7. Chicago Bulls 8. Atlanta Hawks (conveyed to Milwaukee Bucks) 9. New York Knicks 10. Washington Wizards 11. Golden State Warriors 12. Seattle SuperSonics 13. Memphis Grizzlies
Guest Eagan469 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Pistons just said they won't take Anthony dumb, dumb move
